Ruben Amorim axed: what now for Manchester United? Football Weekly - podcast

Manchester United's tenure under Ruben Amorim was marked by a sense of uncertainty and underwhelming performances on the pitch, raising questions about his suitability for the role. Just 24 hours after a disappointing match, the Portuguese coach has been let go, leaving the Red Devils to search for a new manager.

With Oliver Glasner as the long-term favourite, it's clear that Manchester United is eager to shake off the woes of their recent past. But how did Amorim's tenure fare? Was he too inexperienced, or was his approach simply not yielding the desired results?

The panel weighs in on these questions and more, examining the factors that contributed to Amorim's departure and what it means for Manchester United's future under a new head coach. With key matches coming up, the pressure is on to find someone who can get the team back on track.

Amorim's departure marks an opportunity for Manchester United to reassess their approach and look towards the future. Will they opt for experience or innovation? Only time will tell.

🤔 u guys think amorim got a bad rap or was he genuinely not cut out 4 the job?? 😐 i mean, mufc's been through some tough times before & it's easy 2 point fingers @ their latest sacking 🙄 that being said, ruben's Portuguese background might've caused some culture shock for the squad 🌎💪 maybe they just needed someone with a bit more... stability? 💯 what's ur take on this? 👇

Idk what all the fuss is about, thought Amorim was fine lol 🤷‍♂️ He got the team to Europa League but that's about it... I mean, you can't blame a guy for not winning the league with all those superstars on his payroll 😂. Maybe they just needed someone to shake things up and bring some fresh ideas? Glasner is probably a safe bet but I kinda wanna see what other guys are out there who can take them by surprise 🤔. Can't say he was that bad, been hearing more noise about him than the actual football he's done

lol what a shock 24 hrs after gettin smashed @ home they axe him 🤦‍♂️ Ruben Amorim was always a bit of a gamble, didn't exactly cover himself in glory last season either 😅 but you gotta feel for the bloke, he gave it a fair go. i think the thing that really hurt him was the squad wasn't strong enough to match his style of play 🤷‍♂️ now it's back to the drawing board for United, can they find someone who can get them clicking on all cylinders? ⚽️ gotta be exciting for the fans, big changes are comin 😃

OMG 🤯 I'm not surprised at all, to be honest! They should've done this ages ago. Ruben Amorim's style of play just isn't suiting our team's needs. All those underwhelming performances, it was only a matter of time before they axed him. Poor guy, didn't stand a chance. 🤦‍♂️

Now, with Oliver Glasner in the running, I'm a bit more optimistic. He seems like he knows what he's doing and can bring that winning mentality we need. Fingers crossed! ⚽️ Please, for the love of United, let's get it right this time... 😬

I'm kinda surprised about Amorim goin' 🤔. I mean, he was a new face and all that jazz, but it seemed like his tactics weren't quite gelling with the team 💔. And yeah, 24 hours is quick for someone to be sacked, you feel?

I think part of the problem was that United were expectin' him to whip the team into shape overnight ⏰. But coaches don't work like that, right? It takes time and experimentation. Maybe Amorim just needed a bit more time to figure out his approach?

But on the other hand, if he's not gettin' it done, then maybe it's time for a change 🔄. I mean, United's got some top talent in their squad, so they should be able to attract someone who can get 'em back to where they belong 👍.

Here's a simple mind map on the situation:
```
Manchester United
|
|-- Amorim
| |
| |-- Not workin' out? 🤔
| |-- Gettin' sacked ⏰
|
|-- New coach
| |
| |-- Experience or innovation?
| |-- The future is uncertain...
```
Anyway, it's a shame to see Amorim go, but maybe this is an opportunity for the club to grow and improve 📈.

I mean, it's like when you're trying a new recipe and it doesn't turn out right 🍳... Manchester United just can't seem to get that perfect blend of performance and consistency. I'm not saying Ruben Amorim was the right guy for the job, but 24 hours is kinda fast to let someone go 😕. And now they're like "oh, we'll just find some new coach who's gonna magically fix everything 💫". It's hard not to feel like they're trying to sweep this under the rug 🧹. Still, it's good that they're shaking things up and looking towards the future ⏰. Maybe this is their chance to try out some fresh ideas and get back on track 🔥

I don't think it's that surprising that Amorim got the boot, tbh 🤔. The guy's been under a lot of pressure from the start, and it's not easy to win over 1 million+ fans in one go 💪. I mean, he's Portuguese, but you can't just bring your old country's tactics to the Premier League and expect to succeed 🏆. They need someone who understands the league, the fans, and the level of competition 💥. Oliver Glasner seems like a solid choice, but we'll see if they can make it work 🔮. The problem is, they've got some big matches coming up, so the clock's ticking ⏰...

aww man i feel bad for ruben amorim 🤕 he was trying his best but it's just not working out at manchester united u gotta have faith in the coaches & give them a chance to shine 💫 but i guess that's what they did here 😐 now they gotta find someone who can turn things around & bring some positivity back to old trafford ⚽️ fingers crossed for the new manager tho! 🤞

I feel so bad for Ruben Amorim 🤕, I mean, who wouldn't want a fresh start in football after trying out this one 😅? But seriously, it's like when our school is having a tough semester and the principal is letting go of the coach... we're all like "what's next?" 🤔. Manchester United needs someone who can turn things around and get them winning matches again 🏆. I hope they pick Oliver Glasner or whoever is their long-term fave, because that guy seems cool 💯. And I feel you, it's a big opportunity for the team to reassess and try new stuff 📝. Can't wait to see what happens next! 😃

I'm not surprised that Amorim got the boot 🤔. I mean, the results just weren't there, you know? 24 hours after a disappointing match and he's out 🚫. It's clear that Manchester United is looking for someone who can turn things around ASAP ⏱️.

But was it just about the results? Was he too inexperienced to make it work as a top-flight manager? I feel like that's what everyone's asking 🤷‍♂️. Did his approach just not mesh with the team's style of play? Or was it a combination of both?

It's interesting that Oliver Glasner is the long-term favourite 🔴. Does that mean he's the only one who can fix the problem, or are they looking for someone to shake things up? 🤔 Either way, I'm excited to see what happens next 👀.

💡 I think Amorim's tenure was a case of misaligned expectations with his inexperience at the helm, despite being touted as a breath of fresh air after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's exit. The fact that he struggled to gel the squad and produce cohesive performances on a consistent basis raises concerns about his long-term viability for the job 🤔.

Meanwhile, I'm intrigued by the prospect of Oliver Glasner taking over - would he be able to inject some much-needed stability and tactical nous into the team? It's clear that Manchester United is eager to break free from their recent rut, but can they find a manager who can both innovate and deliver results on the pitch? The coming weeks will be pivotal in determining the direction of this storied club 🏆

I'm not surprised to hear that Ruben Amorim is out 🤔. To be honest, his tenure did feel a bit shaky at times ⚖️. I mean, 24 hours after one bad match and he's already gone? It's like the team just needed a little shake-up or something 😂. But seriously, it's gotta be tough for the players to know they're gonna have so many changes behind the scenes 🤷‍♂️.

I think Oliver Glasner is a great choice tho 💯! He's got experience and knows how to win ⚽️. And Manchester United needs someone who can just get results, you know? They're not in the Premier League for fun 😜. But what I'm excited about is that this could be an opportunity for them to rethink their strategy and try something new 🔄. Maybe they'll find a manager who's all about innovation and fresh ideas 🔥! Who knows, maybe it'll be just what they need to get back on track 💪.

.. I feel like they made the right call, ya know? 24 hours after that disaster match... it's not like he had any real chance of turning things around. The guy was like a pilot trying to navigate through uncharted waters without any proper charts 🚫. Manchester United needs someone who can spark some life into that team and I'm not sure Amorim was the right fit for that role.

And yeah, I think Oliver Glasner is still the favorite for the job... he's got some solid experience under his belt and the players seem to be behind him already 💪. The problem with Amorim was that he just didn't have the x-factor, ya know? He seemed more like a safe pair of hands than someone who's gonna shake things up and bring some much-needed excitement to Old Trafford 🔥.

Only time will tell if they make the right choice this time around... but I'm rooting for Glasner 🤞

Manchester United is like a puzzle that needs to be solved ASAP 🤯! They've been stuck in neutral mode for ages, and now they're trying to shake things up again 💥. I mean, who's next?! 🤔 Oliver Glasner sounds promising, but can he really turn things around? And what about the other contenders? I'm low-key excited to see how this whole process plays out... it's like a reality TV show in football land 📺!

I feel bad for Ruben Amorim, he was young and given such a big task 🤕. 24 hours is quick turnaround, I guess you can't blame them for wanting a fresh start 💪. Manchester United needs someone who can bring in some new ideas, maybe someone like Oliver Glasner would be the way to go 🔥. They need to shake off that feeling of uncertainty, it's been going on for too long 😐.

I'm kinda surprised they let him go already 🤔. I mean, he just took over and things were already gonna be tough for anyone to follow Pep's massive boots 👣. But yeah, 24 hours after a bad match and he's out? That's quick 💨. Maybe it was the fans' expectations or something. They're already piling on Oliver Glasner like he's the savior 🙌. I'm curious to see what happens next though... maybe they'll go for someone who's gonna shake things up a bit 🔥. Either way, it's time to get this team back on track and start winning some trophies ⚽️!

Ugh, what a nightmare this forum has become 🤯... anyway, where was I? Ah yes, Ruben Amorim at Manchester United... honestly, it's not like he had much chance of succeeding from the start 🙄. The team's been struggling for ages and no one seems to be able to turn that around. Maybe they should've stuck with Ole Gunnar Solskjær instead? 😂 But nope, they had to go and bring in a new coach who might just breathe some life into the team.

I mean, I'm not one to gloat or anything, but it's about time they made a change 🙌. Amorim just didn't seem to have the magic, you know? And let's be real, 24 hours later and he's out the door? That says it all 👋. Still, on to the next one... hopefully, they'll find someone who can make some magic happen at Old Trafford 💫
