I just read about these books being highlighted as part of this collection and I gotta say... I'm fascinated by them all especially **Buzzing with Questions**! Can you imagine overcoming obstacles to become the first Black entomologist in the US? It's like, totally inspiring! And how cool is it that the Apollo 10 astronauts inspired Alma Thomas to create art? Like, who knew space travel could be so artistic? I'd love to dive into each of these books and learn more about their stories. Kadir Nelson's work on **Basketball** looks amazing btw... his illustrations are always so detailed & beautiful
omg I just finished reading all these books and I'm literally buzzing with questions like Charles Henry Turner lol his story is so inspiring he was a total underdog and people didn't even take him seriously because he was black but he proved them wrong and became the first black entomologist in the US
I also love Alma Thomas's art it's so beautiful and I can see why the Apollo astronauts inspired her to create that series of artworks they're actually really cool and I'm totally a fan of Kadir Nelson's work his illustrations are on point
I think what I liked most about these books is how they show us that even when people try to hold you back, your passion and hard work can take you places
omg I just saw a new documentary on space explorations and it was soooo cool , like they were talking about how we're still trying to figure out what's out there... can anyone recommend me some good books on astronomy? I wanna learn more about the universe, you know?
anyway back to these featured books... Charles Henry Turner sounds super interesting, I love learning about people who broke barriers in their fields. and Alma Thomas's art is gorgeous have you seen her paintings? they look like they were made for a galaxy far, far away
also did you know that there was this one team of scientists who discovered how to make chocolate from cacao beans it's crazy to think about all the things we used to think were impossible. speaking of which... has anyone read "Liftoff!" yet? is it a good book?
I'm loving this new series of books they're releasing - so inspiring to see more stories being told about underrepresented groups! Charles Henry Turner's story is giving me major Spider-Man vibes - overcoming obstacles and still achieving greatness? I need that in my life ! And can we talk about Alma Thomas for a sec? The fact that those Apollo 10 astronauts sparked her creativity is like, what even is art if not inspired by the universe?! Kadir Nelson's book on basketball history looks super detailed, too - gotta get my hands on that one ASAP !
I'm really loving the fact that these new book releases are shedding light on some amazing unsung heroes like Charles Henry Turner. It's crazy to think about how far we've come in terms of representation and diversity in science and history books. And can we talk about Alma Thomas's art for a sec? The way it just soars, just like the Apollo missions that inspired her! It's beautiful to see how these stories are connecting our past to our present and future.
