Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain: Celtic sign ex-Arsenal and Liverpool midfielder on deal until end of season

Celtic have announced the signing of former Arsenal and Liverpool midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on a deal until the end of the season. The 32-year-old England international, who was a free agent, has joined the Scottish champions with the option to extend his stay by a further 12 months.

The move comes as Celtic manager Martin O'Neill looks to bolster his squad ahead of the remainder of the Scottish Premiership campaign. The Hoops are currently in third place, just behind leaders Hearts and bottom-side Livingston.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has a wealth of experience at the highest level, having earned 35 caps for England and playing for some of the biggest clubs in the world including Arsenal, Liverpool, and Besiktas. He joins new loan signings Tomas Cvancara, Junior Adamu, Joel Mvuka, and Benjamin Arthur in an attempt to catch leaders Hearts.

Speaking to Celtic TV, Oxlade-Chamberlain expressed his excitement about the move, saying he felt like it was a perfect fit for him and that he is hungry to help out the lads. He also praised manager Martin O'Neill and assistant coach Shaun Maloney, who told him of the club's targets and what it means to play at Celtic.

The former Liverpool midfielder will make his debut in Celtic's next league match against Livingston on Wednesday before a trip to second-bottom Kilmarnock on Sunday - live on Sky Sports. However, he will not be able to feature in the Europa League knockout play-off match against Stuttgart due to registration issues.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is looking for another challenge and believes that Celtic can help him achieve his goals, both individually and with the team. With his experience and skillset, he could prove to be a valuable addition to the Hoops' squad in the remainder of the season.

omg u guyz, celtic just scored big! alex oxlade-chamberlain is joining them 4 like 12 months now lolol cant wait 2 c him on the pitch esp since he's got so much exp 2 play @ the top level 🀩. martin o'Neill must b doin sumthin rite, getting a player like that will def help them get closer 2 those leaders hearts. and omg the fact he can ext his stay by furthur 12 months is just pure gold πŸ’ƒπŸ½πŸ’°. celtic's squad is lookin πŸ”₯ @ the moment & this new addition wont hurt πŸ€—.

OMG u guys!!! 🀩πŸ’₯ Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain just joined Celtic FC on loan till end of season & its gonna be SO EPIC! πŸ˜†πŸ‘Š This is exactly what they needed, a midfielder with loads of exp & goalscoring skills, esp after that Hearts loss. Martin O'Neill got his eyes in the right direction, imo this move is pure GENIUS! πŸ€“ Oxlade-Chamberlain's stats r insane 35 caps for England & played for top teams like Arsenal, Liverpool & Besiktas, can u imagine him in Hoops jersey? πŸ”₯πŸ˜† He said its a perfect fit and I belive it too, he'll def bring that fire & hunger to the pitch. Big shoutout to Martin O'Neill & Shaun Maloney 4 bringing him on board! πŸ‘ Celtic fans are gonna go CRAZY when they see him debut in next match! πŸŽ‰

😊 I think it's crazy how some players just keep reinventing themselves - like Oxlade-Chamberlain going from being a midfielder for big clubs like Arsenal and Liverpool to playing for Celtic! 🀯 It's not every day you see someone make that kind of career change, but I guess it shows he still has something to offer. πŸ’‘ The fact that he wants to help out the lads and prove himself is really cool, and with a squad like Celtic, he might just be able to do that. 🌟 What's crazy is how registration issues are going to impact his Europa League debut - seems like a bit of an unlucky break for him πŸ˜•. Still though, I'm hyped to see him take on the league and hopefully bring some magic to Parkhead! ⚽️

I'm so confused about this move... I mean, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is getting another chance at Celtic πŸ€”. On one hand, it's awesome that he's joining a new team and looking for another challenge - he should be stoked! πŸ’ͺ But on the other hand, isn't 32 a bit old to be playing in the Scottish Premiership? Like, is his body going to hold up? πŸ€• And what about the fact that he was available on a free agent deal... doesn't that say something about the quality of his game right now? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

omg i cant even contain my excitement!!! πŸ€©πŸ”΅πŸ† finally alex oxlade chamberlain is back in the scottish premiership! i've been saying it for ages that he'd be a perfect fit for celtic and now its happening 😍 martin o'neill made an amazing move here, i mean we all know the team has struggled to find consistency this season but with alex on board, im confident they can give hearts a run for their money 🀯

and lets be real, 32 isn't old for a footballer! he's still got so much experience and skill left in him, not to mention those 35 caps for england under his belt πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ cant wait to see him tear up the pitch against kilmarnock on sunday πŸ”΄

I'm not buying it. The only reason Oxlade-Chamberlain is signing now is because he couldn't get a decent contract anywhere else πŸ€”. Celtic's got some nice young talent coming through, but they're still gonna get smashed by Hearts at the end of the season. It's just a short-term fix to try and salvage their season. And let's be real, Oxlade-Chamberlain won't even last the entire season before he gets injured... again πŸ₯.

just saw this news about alex oxlade-chamberlain joining celtic lol they gotta wanna win those titles or something 🀣 anyone else think its weird that hes signing till end of season tho? maybe trying to get a fresh start after liverpool πŸ˜’

omg u guys! 🀩 i'm so hyped for alex oxlade-chamberlain joining celtic!!! πŸ˜† he's like the ultimate signing for them - all that exp and skill! martin o'Neill must be over the moon with this move 🀞 and it's a great boost for the team, especially coming into the derby against hearts πŸ”₯ i'm really rooting for them now to catch those leaders πŸ‘

πŸ”₯πŸ‘ just saw that Celtic signed Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain on a deal until the end of the season 🀯 what's next? πŸ˜‚ this guy has been with some huge clubs like Arsenal and Liverpool, so I'm hyped to see him bring his experience to the Hoops πŸ’ͺ he seems like he's hungry for another challenge which is awesome πŸ‘ hope he can help Celtic catch up with Hearts at the top of the league πŸ“ˆ

just saw this news about Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain joining Celtic πŸ€”... seems like a good move for them, considering they're already in third place 😊. but what's up with the registration issues holding him back from playing in the Europa League? πŸ™„ shouldn't be too much of an issue, right? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ anyway, he does seem like a great addition to the squad - been around the block a few times, so should know how to get things done πŸ’ͺ. hope they can help him find his footing and bring home some wins! πŸ†

πŸ€” I think this move by Celtic is an intriguing one, especially considering Oxlade-Chamberlain's impressive pedigree πŸ†. On paper, it's hard to argue with his ability to elevate their squad and help them push for the title πŸ“ˆ. His experience in playing at top-tier clubs like Arsenal and Liverpool will undoubtedly be beneficial in navigating the treacherous waters of Scottish Premiership football ⛹️. What's more interesting is how he'll mesh with O'Neill's tactics and team dynamic πŸ’‘, as his adaptability and hunger for success could prove to be a game-changer πŸ”΄βš½οΈ.

Just read about Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain joining Celtic πŸ€”... think it's gonna be interesting to see him play for the Hoops. He's got some serious experience under his belt, played with top clubs and all that. Might be a game changer for Celtic, but we'll have to wait and see how he settles in. Personally, I'm excited to watch him take on teams like Hearts and Kilmarnock... those are gonna be some intense matches ⚽️. The fact that he's hungry to help out the lads is awesome too, I love seeing players with that kind of mentality. Can't wait for his debut against Livingston on Wednesday πŸ’₯.

I'm super stoked about this new signing for Celtic! They're definitely gonna be a top contender for that Scottish Premiership title πŸ†πŸ’ͺ! I mean, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is no rookie - he's got loads of experience under his belt and has played with some top-class teams like Arsenal & Liverpool. The fact that he's joined Celtic on a deal until the end of the season shows how serious they are about winning it all 🀝! It'll be interesting to see him in action, especially against Hearts - those two teams always bring out the best in each other ⚽️πŸ’₯. Bring on Wednesday's match vs Livingston and let's hope Oxlade-Chamberlain makes a splash πŸ’¦!
