Australian Open - Novak Djokovic calls reporter 'disrespectful' after reaching semi finals following Lorenzo Musetti retirement

Novak Djokovic expressed disappointment and frustration towards a reporter's question during his semi-final interview at the Australian Open. The Serb tennis superstar, who is now just one match away from a record ninth men's singles title, had been asked how he feels about being in "chasing" mode as he pursues Grand Slam glory after previously chasing down Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal.

Djokovic felt disrespected by the question, which he saw as implying that his career was somehow unfinished or that he still had a lot to prove. Having won an unprecedented 24 men's singles titles, including nine Australian Open crowns, Djokovic is widely regarded as one of the greatest tennis players of all time.

"I think it's a bit disrespectful," Djokovic said in response to the question. "I've achieved what I set out to do and more. I'm not chasing anyone anymore."

The Serbian player's comments suggest that he is feeling confident and self-assured about his chances of winning the tournament, but also frustrated at the notion that he still has something to prove.

Meanwhile, Djokovic will face Jannik Sinner or Carlos Alcaraz in the semi-finals, two players who are known for their exciting brand of tennis. The Australian Open has already produced some thrilling matches, and fans can expect more of the same as they await the final showdown between Djokovic and his opponent.

Djokovic's outburst is like, totally relatable you know? 🤯 I mean, he's basically said it all - 24 Grand Slams, he's won, he's achieved what most guys can only dream of. And yet, the media still tries to find ways to make him feel like he's not done yet. It's like, dude, he's done it! He's put up or shut up and has come out on top 24 times. You gotta give the man some respect 🙏. The way he said "I'm not chasing anyone anymore" is like a middle finger to all those who doubt him. He's owning his greatness and that's something we can all root for 💪.

Omg u guys Djokovic is SO done with this "chasing" label 8/10 lol what's next gonna ask him how many trophies he still needs to collect?! like dude has already won 24 men's singles titles i think it's time for some respect from the media 🤷‍♂️💔 and tbh his frustration is kinda justified, who wouldn't be annoyed by that question? anyway, can't wait for the finals, Djokovic vs whoever will be interesting to see 😒👀

I gotta say, this is rich coming from a guy who's basically a legend on the court! I mean, 24 men's singles titles? That's insane! Djokovic is speaking truth when he says he feels disrespected by that question - it's like they think he still has something to prove after all these years of dominating the sport. Newsflash: you've achieved greatness, Novak! You don't need anyone's validation anymore 🙄. Can't wait to see how this semi-final unfolds, though - Sinner or Alcaraz is a tough matchup for Djokovic 😬.

I feel bad for Novak - that reporter just didn't get it. I mean, come on, 24 Grand Slam titles is a lot to chase! It's like saying someone who's already sold out all their concert tickets still needs to prove they're good enough to get in 😒. Djokovic knows his stuff and doesn't need anyone questioning his abilities anymore. The question was just awkward and out of touch 🤔. Anyway, the Aussie Open is always a highlight - can't wait for some more thrilling matches! ⚡

I feel Djokovic's frustration is totally valid 🤔! I mean, the guy's won 24 Grand Slam singles titles – that's insane! You'd think he'd be treated with respect by journalists. The question about him being in "chasing" mode feels like a major jab 🗡️. He's been to the top and back, multiple times – you don't need to remind him of his past achievements.

It's also kinda funny that the reporter was asking him about being in "chasing" mode when Djokovic has basically said he doesn't have anything left to prove 😂. I guess some people just can't help themselves from looking for drama or controversy.

Anyway, on to the tennis – it's gonna be a tough match for whoever faces Djokovic next 🎾. Sinner and Alcaraz are both super talented players, so we're in for a real treat!

Man... I feel him 🤷‍♂️. You're at this point in your career where you've achieved everything you set out to do, and it's hard not to take that feeling of accomplishment. I mean, 24 Grand Slams? That's a record that's gonna be hard to break for anyone. And to have someone imply that he's still chasing something... it's just frustrating 🤬.

But at the same time, I get why he'd feel that way. We've all been in situations where we felt like we were being put down or judged by someone else's expectations. It's hard not to take it personally 😒.

Anyway, I'm hyped for the semi-finals now. Those two players are gonna give Djokovic a run for his money 💥. Should be some epic matches 🎾👏

I feel bad for Novak Djokovic, you know? He's already won so much and achieved everything he set out to do in his career. It just doesn't sit right with him that people are still asking him if he's 'chasing' something after all these years 🤔. I think it's because he's in the zone now, and he wants everyone to respect that. He's not trying to prove anything else, he's just focused on winning this last title. It's like when our kids grow up and finally master a skill, you know? They want to be recognized for their hard work, but also feel like they've moved on from that phase 💪. Anyway, I'm loving the excitement around the Australian Open so far!

idk why ppl still think he's chasing after anyone 🤔... like, dude's won 24 mens singles titles, that's insane! 🙌 i mean, djoko's achieved everything he set out to do and more, what else is there? shouldn't we just give the guy credit for being the best in his game? 😊
