Bears Safety Kevin Byard Hopes to Re-Sign Before Free Agency, Finish What They Started

. On one hand, Byard has been incredible this season and deserves a new deal after his impressive Pro Bowl and All-Pro selections 
. But, at 33, he's getting up there in years for an NFL safety, and I'm not sure if the team can justify keeping him on a big contract

. But, if they want to keep him long-term, they'll need to make some tough decisions about their cap space and prioritize their roster over younger, cheaper players

you know how in football they always talk about a player being "on" or "off form"? i think it's kinda like in life, we all have those moments where we're feeling the energy and motivation 
and then others when we're just trying to get through the day

, and it's awesome to see him having so much confidence in himself at 33 years old 
. let's be real, though, with the bears' pass rusher tua tagovailoa being injured, we need some backup ASAP 
. 33 isn't old, but I get why teams might be hesitant to give long-term deals to guys who are getting up there in years... it's all about cap space and future investments
