Blinded by the Views: YouTube’s Billions Club Welcomes Videos by The Weeknd & KISS

The Weeknd and KISS Have Officially Entered YouTube's Billion Views Club.

The highly anticipated duo has finally made it to the esteemed list, which boasts some of the most iconic and enduring music videos on the platform. The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, has added his seventh visual to the club with "Blinding Lights," while KISS has marked its first entry with the 1979 classic hit "I Was Made for Lovin' You."

The Weeknd's "Blinding Lights" video embodies the eccentric persona of The Weeknd from his album "After Hours." Shot in Las Vegas, the visual showcases The Weeknd sporting a red blazer and shades as he navigates the city streets and gets behind the wheel.

This latest addition to The Weeknd's collection brings his total to seven billion views on YouTube. He had previously achieved this milestone with other popular visuals, including "Starboy" featuring Daft Punk, "Save Your Tears," and "The Hills."

On the other side of the coin, KISS has finally entered YouTube's Billion Views Club after a long time, thanks to their 1979 classic hit "I Was Made for Lovin' You." The video, which was posted to YouTube less than six years ago, features all members of the iconic rock band dressed in their signature black-and-white hair and makeup, performing on a stage beneath flashing lights.

The addition marks KISS's first entry into the exclusive club. The 1979 hit itself reached number eleven on the Billboard Hot 100 charts while its parent album "Dynasty" peaked at nine on the Billboard 200.

Blown away that they finally made it to YouTube's Billion Views Club 🤯! You know, back in my day, music videos were all about MTV and record stores... I remember buying my first cassette tape of KISS's "Dynasty" album and playing it over and over again in my room 🎧. The Weeknd's "Blinding Lights" video is so stylish, reminds me of old-school Vegas nights with friends 😎. And can you believe KISS made it after all these years? I guess time truly flies... or should I say, music videos take a billion views before we realize they've been there for ages 🕰️!

I mean come on 🙄, a couple of old songs making it to YouTube's billion views club? Big whoop! Can't say I'm surprised, though 😒. The Weeknd's just playing it safe with his usual formulaic vibes, and KISS... well, they're just cashing in on their legacy at this point 🤑. "I Was Made for Lovin' You" is like the ultimate guilty pleasure jam – not exactly high art 💁‍♀️. And don't even get me started on how cringeworthy the hair and makeup look is 😂. Still, I guess it's cool to see some old-school rock getting the nostalgia treatment 🎸. But let's be real, this club needs some more diversity and creativity – not just a bunch of outdated hits 🙃

Blowin' up YouTube records like it's nobody's business! I mean, can you believe KISS made it to the billion views club? Back in my day, we had to wait till our dad's vinyl collection played their songs on the record player! 😂 And now they're rulin' the internet with 1979 bangers. The Weeknd too, man - his videos are like somethin' outta a futuristic fever dream 🕷️. But for real, it's dope to see these legends gettin' the recognition they deserve, even if it took 'em a hot minute to reach the billion views club 📈

yep another celeb making it to youtube's billion views 🤑💸, like who cares right? just more proof that our attention spans are shot and we're all just mindless drones staring at screens for hours on end 😴📺 the weeknd and kiss are basically the same thing, overplayed and overly hyped musicians cashing in on their fame 💸💔

omg yessss finally 👏 both The Weeknd and KISS made it to youtube's billion views club 💥 that's so crazy, i remember when i first saw The Weeknd's music videos they were already iconic 🔥 and now he's added another one, "Blinding Lights" is such a banger 🎶 can't wait to see what he does next! and congrats to KISS too 🤘 it's not every day you get to join the club with a classic rock hit 💪

idk why people still get hyped about this 70s rock band kiss lol they're just trying to cling to their past glories and think it's still cool 🤣 but at the end of the day, a billion views just means they've been viewed by a lot of people who aren't actually into them 😂 the weeknd, on the other hand, is a whole different story he's been pushing the boundaries of music videos for years and his "blinding lights" vid is straight fire 🔥
