Bodø/Glimt give Manchester City one hell of a Champions League beating

Pep Guardiola's Manchester City team have been given a rare taste of reality after a crushing 3-0 defeat to Bodø/Glimt in the Champions League. In front of an electric 8,000-strong crowd at the remote Aspmyra Stadion in Norway, Bodø produced a masterclass that left the English giants reeling.

The Norwegian side's victory was all about movement and strategy, with Kasper Høgh scoring twice before Jens Petter Hauge sealed the win for his team. Manchester City, meanwhile, were plagued by a lack of spark and physicality, struggling to contain Bodø's quick counter-attacks.

City manager Guardiola admitted that his side "had to come back" after their humiliating defeat, with the former Barcelona coach citing "results in 2026 are not good – in terms of the Premier League and today". Guardiola made zero adjustments during the match, watching as Rodri was sent off for a cynical foul, further highlighting City's struggles.

This result is a far cry from Manchester City's dominant displays last season when they won the Champions League. Even though they were without some key players, including Erling Haaland and Phil Foden, Bodø/Glimt's performance was one of sheer determination and teamwork.

For the Norwegian side, this win marks an incredible milestone in their journey to the Champions League. The team's victory has sent shockwaves throughout the football world, with many hailing them as a David vs Goliath story.

As for Manchester City, they now face an uphill battle to qualify for the last 16 of the competition. A defeat at Galatasaray next week will almost certainly be too little, too late for Guardiola's side.

🤔 8k crowd can make a huge difference in the match... Bodø/Glimt's movement and strategy were spot on 👏. City looked lost out there, like they didn't know how to handle Bodø's pace 🚨. Maybe they need to rethink their tactics or something? 😬

Omg 😱🤯 this is like a whole different team out there 👋 bodø glimt played with so much heart ❤️ and movement 🔄 it was like they were flying ⚡️ on the pitch! Pep gotta step up his game 📈 'cause city's lookin' lost 🌫️ no spark 🔥 and physicality 💪 is what bodø got in spades 🤜🤛
anywayz 😎 this result's a major wake-up call for city 👀 they can't afford to take anyone lightly ⚠️ not even against galatasaray nxt wk 📆 it's gonna be a tough one 🔥 but i'm still lovin' pep's style 🕺🏻 his passion & tactical genius is still on point 💯

I mean come on 🤯, a 3-0 thrashing from Bodø/Glimt? That's just insane! I'm all for underdogs making a statement, but this is Manchester City we're talking about - the team that was supposed to be unbeatable last season 😂. Guardiola needs to take a hard look at his tactics and make some changes, stat ⏰. Zero adjustments during the match? That's just not going to cut it. And Rodri getting sent off? Unbelievable 🤦‍♂️. I don't know how they're going to recover from this one...

omg u guys i cant even right now lol i was soooo hyped for man citys chances in the champions league but that bodø/glimt team is FOR REAL!!! their movement and strategy were like nothing i've ever seen before 🤯👀 they totally outplayed us and deserved the win

i'm also lowkey impressed by bodø's squad, didnt know much about them before but now i'm all about it 👏💪 and for man city to be so harshly beaten with some key players missing is just crazy what happened to their team? 🤔 rodri getting sent off was a major red flag for me too

anywayz the real tea is that bodø/glimt's win has got everyone talking and its honestly been super inspiring to see them come out on top against a giant like man city 💖🏆

😱 3-0 is a huge gap to close in the Champions League! 💥 Manchester City got spanked by Bodø/Glimt and now they're in trouble 🤯. Zero adjustments from Guardiola? 😵 That's not how you bounce back from a loss, Pep 👎. Rodri's red card was a turning point – City just couldn't keep up with Bodø's quick counter-attacks 🚀. The stats are concerning: Manchester City won only 38% of the possession 💔, while Bodø/Glimt had 23 shots on target 🔴. Not to mention, they lost their star players, Haaland and Foden – that's a huge blow 👍.

Here's some stats to put it into perspective:

* Bodø/Glimt's average age is 24.4 (youthful squad!)
* Manchester City have now conceded 10 goals in the Champions League this season 📉
* The Norwegian side's winning margin of 3-0 is their biggest in the competition since 2018 📊

Needless to say, City will need a miracle to make it out of the group stage 🤯.

omg what is going on with man city rn 🤯🏆 theyre supposed to be this dominant force in europe but bodø/glimt just absolutely destroyed them 😱 like i get it they had some key players out but its not an excuse for a performance that bad... guardiola needs to do something drastic change his tactics or bring in new blood because 3-0 is just embarrassing 💔 anyway bodø/glimt are having the time of their lives right now and who can blame them 🙌 theyve got this david vs goliath vibe going on where one team is the big shot and the other is the underdog

😬 just watched that match and man... Bodø/Glimt totally outplayed City 🤯 they were like a well-oiled machine on the pitch ⚽️ I feel bad for City, they looked so lost and couldn't handle Bodø's speed 👊 Guardiola needs to make some serious changes before 2026 📆 if they wanna stay competitive 💪

I mean, who needs a superhero cape when you can just wear a jersey with your name on it and still get creamed by a team that's like 10 million miles away from your level 🤣! Bodø/Glimt is basically the David Campbell of football teams - they're not exactly the most glamorous, but they've got heart! And let's be real, Manchester City were basically just sleepwalking through the match. I mean, a manager gets sent off and you still lose? That's like trying to win a game of Mario Kart without pressing any buttons 😂. Guess Pep's gotta get his team in gear - maybe a few sprints around the dressing room will wake them up 🏃‍♂️!

I cant even imagine how demoralizing that must've been for Pep and his team lol 🤣 Manchester City just got a serious reality check and it looks like they're in big trouble now 😳 I mean, Bodø/Glimt was on point from start to finish, and City just couldn't keep up. It's crazy to think about how much of a difference the energy of that crowd must've made too - 8,000-strong and electric 💥 Guess you could say it was a wake-up call for Manchester City, and not a pleasant one 🚨

😒 this is insane, man... City just got destroyed by some tiny Norwegian team 🤣 bodø/glimt's movement and strategy was on another level, they played like a well-oiled machine 💪 meanwhile city was just stuck in neutral 🚫 guardiola needs to make some serious adjustments, watchin' that game must've been super frustratin' 😡 a 3-0 loss is huge for their chances of makin' it outta the group stages

omg what happened to man city?! i'm shocked they got thrashed like that 🤯 bodø/glimt is a dark horse in the champions league tbh, their movement and strategy was on point. pep guardiola needs to shake things up ASAP, zero adjustments during the match is just not good enough 🙅‍♂️ rodri getting sent off for a cynical foul is a major red flag for city. i'm loving this david vs goliath story tho, bodø/glimt's underdog spirit is infectious 💪

omg u guys!!!! 🤯 i cant even believe wat just happened!!! 😱 pep guardiola and man city got DESTROYED by bodø/glimt !! 💥 like how did they not see dis coming? 😂 the norwegians played so smart and had so much energy it was amazing to watch !! 💪 i mean i know man city is usually all over the place but this was somethin else 🤯

anywayz bodø/glimt deserves all da credit for dis win!!! 💥 they proved that even tho they're a smaller team, dey can still take on da big boys and come out on top !! 💪 i'm lovin every min of dis, its like watchin a david vs goliath story come true 😂

omg u no how frustrating 4 manc city fans rn 😱 they gotta bounce back from dis one ASAP or its gonna b a looong season for them 🤯 bodø/glimt were on fire and showed us all how it's done 💥 their movement and strategy was pure class 👏 cant blame Guardiola 4 not makin any adjustments tho, that was a major mistake 😳 what's next 4 manc city? gonna have to wait & see 🤔

omg this is like something outta that movie 'The Revenant' you know where the underdogs come from nowhere and take down the big boys? bodø/glimt are literally the new david vs goliath story 🤯🏆 but seriously pep guardiola's team got schooled it's not just about the players who were missing erling haaland and phil foden, the whole squad was lacking that spark 🔥 and now they're in a tough spot to qualify for the next round

🤔 so like Bodø/Glimt's win was literally insane?! I mean, their movement and strategy were on point! 😮 they totally outplayed Manchester City. 3-0 is crazy, especially against a team that's supposed to be one of the best in the world. 👎 what's going on with Pep Guardiola? 🤷‍♂️ he should've made some adjustments during the match. Rodri getting sent off was like, what?! 😡 and now Manchester City has an uphill battle ahead. will they even qualify for the last 16?! 🤞

Oh man 🤯... Manchester City are KILLING me right now 😩 I mean, I know they're a top team and all that but COME ON GUARDIOLA!!! 🙄 What's going on with your tactics? They looked like a bunch of jellyfish out there on the pitch 🐳. And Rodri getting sent off? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! 😂 It's like you're playing with 10 men instead of 11.

And don't even get me started on that Bodø/Glimt team 🤩... I mean, I've heard of underdogs before but this is insane! They just outplayed City from start to finish 💪. I love how they were all working together like a well-oiled machine 🤖. It's like they wanted it more than City did 😎.

And now you're saying the results in 2026 aren't good? 🤔 That's a pretty harsh statement don't you think? I mean, one bad game doesn't define an entire season or even your career as a manager 🙃. You can't just throw in the towel like that 😅.

Ugh, I'm still fuming about this result 😡... Manchester City need to get their act together ASAP 💥!
