Breeze Airways Set to Take Flight from Atlantic City International Airport in May
Low-cost carrier Breeze Airways is making waves by announcing its inaugural service out of Atlantic City International Airport later this month. This development marks a significant expansion for the small airport in South Jersey, which will now offer year-round flights to three new destinations.
Starting May 6, non-stop flights to Charleston, South Carolina, and Raleigh-Durham International Airport in North Carolina will become available from Atlantic City. Subsequent week, Breeze will introduce its highly anticipated service connecting Tampa, Florida, with one stop in another city – marking the arrival of its BreezeThru route.
The expansion is set to bring travelers from southern New Jersey and Philadelphia more convenient access to popular destinations, whether for business or leisure purposes. According to Stephen F. Dougherty, executive director of the South Jersey Transportation Authority, this new development "directly benefits our passengers" by providing them with more options and increased connectivity.
Breeze Airways will be joining an exclusive club alongside Spirit Airlines and Allegiant Air as the only carriers operating out of Atlantic City International Airport. With its impressive growth over the past few years, Breeze has already established a presence at 80 airports across North America and beyond, including international destinations like Cancun and the Bahamas.
The airline's CEO, David Neeleman, sees the potential for Atlantic City to become an attractive gateway to various metropolitan areas. To celebrate its new service, Breeze is offering introductory one-way fares starting at $49 for flights to Charleston and $39 for those traveling to Raleigh-Durham.
With Spirit Airlines' reduced operations and Allegiant Air's recent expansion plans, it seems like Atlantic City International Airport is emerging as a significant player in the region's air travel landscape.
