Carlos Alcaraz Reaches 1st Australian Open Final After 2nd-Longest Men’s Major Semifinal

Carlos Alcaraz Pulls Off Dramatic Comeback to Reach Australian Open Final After Record-Long Match Against Alexander Zverev.

In a thrilling match that pushed both players to their limits, world number one Carlos Alcaraz edged out third-ranked Alexander Zverev in the Australian Open semifinals, winning 6-4, 7-6(5), 6-7(3), 6-7(4), 7-5. The five-hour and 27-minute contest was not only a personal victory for Alcaraz but also one that propelled him into the final of the tournament.

Despite struggling with an upper right leg injury, which required two medical timeouts, Alcaraz demonstrated incredible resilience and determination to overcome his opponent. Zverev's frustration grew throughout the match, particularly when he was denied a medical timeout during the third set, although the German later explained that this was not within his control.

Alcaraz, who will now face either Jannik Sinner or Novak Djokovic in Sunday's final, showed remarkable composure and focus to secure victory. The 22-year-old Spaniard expressed relief at having made it through what he described as the most demanding match of his career so far.

In the fifth set, Alcaraz's movement improved dramatically after a medical timeout earlier in the match, allowing him to outmaneuver Zverev and close out the contest with a crushing forehand winner.

Alcaraz will be just 22 years old when he competes for his seventh major title and becomes the youngest man to capture the career Grand Slam. When asked about the pressure of this opportunity, Alcaraz said that the crowd's energy had pushed him back into the match multiple times throughout the contest, adding, "I'm really grateful for the support I got...it was a real pleasure playing in front of you."

Zverev, who lost last year's final to Sinner, still seeks his first major title. Despite his disappointment at losing to Alcaraz, he acknowledged that the world number one had been deserving of victory.

The stage is now set for an all-European clash between Alcaraz and either Djokovic or Sinner in Sunday's Australian Open final.

I mean, I'm not gonna lie, that five-hour match was insane! 😅 Carlos Alcaraz showing up despite struggling with a leg injury and still managing to take down Alexander Zverev? That's next level dedication. But here's the thing, what about Zverev? The guy's got nothing to lose at this point and he gave it his all. Maybe we should be praising him for going out there and giving Alcaraz a run for his money instead of just focusing on how amazing Alcaraz is?

And can we talk about the pressure of being 22 years old and competing in your seventh major? That's a lot to handle, especially when you're already considered one of the best players in the world. Maybe he should get some credit for handling it like a pro... but I guess that wouldn't make for a very interesting post-match interview 😊

man i'm calling BS on alcaraz's story 🤑 he got lucky, plain and simple. that match was a marathon not a sprint, but he still managed to pull off the win after like 5 medical timeouts? what's going on with those rules? it's just a excuse for him to keep playing despite his injury 🤕 anywayz, he gets all the credit now cuz of crowd support and Djokovic/Sinner is gonna get shafted lol 😒

Wow 🤯 I'm so stoked for Carlos Alcaraz!!! 😍 He's literally on fire 🔥 right now! Pulling off that comeback is pure magic ✨ And to do it after dealing with an injury? 💉 That's dedication at its finest 🙌 The crowd must've fueled his energy all match long 👊 What a thrilling match to watch ⏰ I'm so hyped for the final now 🎉 Either way, Alcaraz is gonna bring home that title and make history 😎

🤯 I'm still reeling from that 5th set 🤯! Carlos Alcaraz, dude, you're a BEAST 💪! The way he came back from that injury and just dominated the last set is insane 😲! And can we talk about Zverev's reaction when he wasn't allowed to take another medical timeout? Like, I get it, injuries are tough, but come on 🤷‍♂️!

I'm also loving Alcaraz's humility about all this. He's just so down-to-earth and gracious in victory 🙏! And can we talk about how proud his team must be of him right now? The kid's got the skills and the determination to take on anyone on the court 💥!

Anyway, I'm rooting for Alcaraz to win it all this Sunday. If Djokovic or Sinner are playing, though, it's gonna be a tough match either way 🤔!

omg y'all alcaraz is literally a superhero 🤩 i mean come on, 5 hours and 27 minutes of non-stop tennis? that's insane! and to pull it off after having an injury? wow, the kid's got heart 💖 he's been doubted so many times already but he just keeps proving his doubters wrong. alcaraz is def gonna crush whoever he plays next 🤯 djokovic or sinner better watch out for this young gun!

OMG 😍, this match was insane!! 🤯 Carlos Alcaraz is literally a superhero 🦸‍♂️! I'm seriously in awe of his determination and composure under pressure 🙌. He deserved that win so much 🏆! And can we talk about the crowd's energy supporting him? 🎉 It's like he fed off their vibes 💥! Now, let's see how he'll handle the pressure of winning that 7th major title at just 22 years old 🤔. Fingers crossed for Carlos! 👍

OMG 🤩 like I know it's a big match but Carlos Alcaraz is literally a superhero 💪! He comes back from being injured and still manages to win against such a tough opponent 😲 Alexander Zverev was definitely struggling, especially when he got denied that medical timeout 🙄. But Alcaraz just kept pushing through with so much determination and composure 🔥 it's crazy!

And can we talk about how brave he is? 🤯 He could've easily given up or taken a break but nope! He just kept going and grinding it out 💪🏽 I'm literally rooting for him to win the whole thing now 😆. The crowd energy really seemed to push him through, that's amazing 🎉 And winning at 22 is like, whoa! He's gonna be a legend in no time 🔥

🤔 this kid Carlos Alcaraz is insane! 5 hours and 27 minutes on the court? 🏃‍♂️ that's mental endurance! i've seen some epic matches before but this one was on another level. Alcaraz's composure under pressure is inspiring, especially considering he had to deal with an injury mid-match. 💪 it'll be interesting to see how he handles the final - whoever it is gonna be gotta bring their A-game 🤔

I gotta say, I'm low-key disappointed in Alcaraz's approach to this match 🤔. Like, don't get me wrong, the kid's a beast on the court and all that jazz 💪, but he played it super safe for most of the match. I mean, two medical timeouts? That's not exactly what you call "resilience" 😒.

And don't even get me started on Zverev 🤷‍♂️. The guy was getting smashed in the fifth set and still managed to win that one point with a forehand winner 💥...but like, when did he actually have to do anything creative or impressive out of nowhere? 😒

I'm all for Alcaraz being hyped about the crowd's energy and all that, but at some point, you gotta take control of the match 🎯. I guess we'll just have to wait and see how he handles the pressure on Sunday ⏰...but for now, I'm just gonna say he didn't exactly blow me away 🤷‍♂️

idk why ppl r hyped about this match lol 🤔 alz was def lucky his leg injury got treated ASAP or he wdve gotten smashed by zverev in the 3rd set, tbh. zverev played so much better in the first two sets and should've won it easily 🙄. its not like alcaraz did anythin' special, just rode on the crowd's energy 🎶. and dont even get me started on djokovic, he's gonna crush either sinner or alcaraz next sunday 😴

OMG 🤩 I'm DYING 💀 over Carlos Alcaraz!!! He was literally a hero on the court, battling through that injury and still managing to come out on top 💪🏽! I mean, 5 hours and 27 minutes is CRAZY 😱 but he just wouldn't give up 💕. And can we talk about how clutch his forehand winner in the fifth set was?! 🔥💥 I'm literally shaking thinking about it 😆. I've been a huge fan of his for ages and this just solidified my love for him even more ❤️. Bring on the Aussie Open final, Carlos is gonna CRUSH it 🏰👑!

OMG what a match 🤯!! Carlos Alcaraz, I'm so hyped for him, he's like a superhero on the court 💪🏽! That comeback was insane, I've never seen anything like it 😲. He's got to be one tired dude after that 5-hour marathon though 😴. And can we talk about Zverev's meltdown in the third set? 🤣. Like, I get it, he didn't get his medical timeout and all, but still... 😂.

But anywayz, Alcaraz is defo ready for this final 💥! He's got the skills, he's got the composure, and he's got the determination 🔥. And can you imagine being 22 years old and winning your first Grand Slam? That's like a dream come true 🌟. Bring on Djokovic or Sinner, whoever it is, I'm gonna be rooting for Alcaraz all the way 👊.

I'm tellin' ya, something fishy went down in that match 🤔. I mean, Alcaraz comes back from like a record-long injury timeout to completely turn it around? That's not normal, fam 😒. And don't even get me started on the medical timeouts... it's like they were trying to disrupt Zverev's rhythm or somethin' 🚨. Like, what if there was some kinda deal goin' down behind the scenes? Maybe someone paid off a ref or somethin'? Idk, but I'm not buyin' that Alcaraz just won on his own 💪. There's more to this story than meets the eye, trust me 👀.

OMG u can feel the energy of Carlos Alcaraz!!! He literally ran on fumes but still managed to pull off an epic comeback 🤩💪! I'm beyond proud of him, he's such a true champion 💕! And can we talk about Alexander Zverev, what a sport he showed by being gracious in defeat 😊? The crowd energy really played a big role in this match and I know Carlos was feeding off that all 5 sets long 🎉! Bring it on for Sunday's final, either way it's gonna be an intense showdown 🤯💥!

This match was CRAZY! 😲 I mean, five hours and 27 minutes? That's insane! Carlos Alcaraz was on fire, but seriously struggling with that injury... I'm impressed he even made it to the end of it without giving up. Alexander Zverev had some bad luck, especially when it came to those medical timeouts 🤕. But you have to give Alcaraz credit for his composure and focus - that's what won him the match in the end. Now we're down to the final, which is gonna be epic... Djokovic or Sinner vs Alcaraz? Can't wait to see how it all goes down! 💥

🏸 what a match ! 🤯 alcaraz is on fire 🔥, but gotta feel for zverev 👍, he gave it his all 💪...anyway, can't wait to see how alcaraz handles the pressure of that first major title 🎉

What a match!!! 🎾😲 I mean, five hours and 27 minutes? That's mental endurance right there! 🤯 Carlos Alcaraz, what can you say about the kid? He just kept pushing through pain and exhaustion to come out on top. You gotta respect that level of grit and determination. And Zverev, he's not one to give up easily, but I think even he knew when to concede at times. 💔 The question is, how will Alcaraz handle the pressure in the final? Will he be able to stay focused under all that hype? 🤞 One thing for sure, he'll have his work cut out for him if he wants to win his seventh major title and become a career Grand Slam winner! 🔥

I'm low-key hyped for Carlos Alcaraz 🤩! The dude just pulled off an insane comeback to reach the Australian Open final, and I gotta say, it was mental to watch 😲. He played with so much heart and grit despite struggling with that injury, and his composure under pressure was on point 🔒.

I love how he talked about the crowd's energy giving him a boost - it's all about feeling that vibe, you know? 🎉 And now, he's one step away from becoming the youngest man to win the career Grand Slam 💥. Bring it on, Alcaraz! Let's see what he's got against Djokovic or Sinner in the final 🏆.

idk about this comeback win by Alcaraz...I mean, it was a pretty epic match, but I'm not sure how he did it considering his leg injury 🤕😓. Like, two medical timeouts and still managed to outplay Zverev? That's wild 🔮👀. On the other hand, maybe Alcaraz was just really unlucky in terms of injuries and stuff...I mean, he was already struggling before that first medical timeout, so maybe it was just one of those days 🤷‍♂️💔. Either way, I'm hyped for the final! If Djokovic or Sinner wins, it'll be an awesome show ⚡🎾. But if Alcaraz pulls this off, he'd be a legend at 22 🤯😍.
