Chelsea 2-0 Brentford: Liam Rosenior earns first Premier League win as Blues survive against wasteful Bees

Liam Rosenior earns first Premier League win as Blues survive against wasteful Bees

Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior finally broke his duck in the top flight of English football after his side secured a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Brentford at Stamford Bridge. The newly appointed head coach, however, was quick to point out that his team's performance wasn't up to par, despite coming away with all three points.

The game started off on an even keel, but the visitors from Griffin Park, who were looking to make a statement in their first top-flight match of the season, took the lead through a Tosin Adarabioyo own goal just minutes into the contest. Chelsea's Robert Sanchez produced an incredible save to deny Brentford the chance to take a two-goal lead before Joao Pedro doubled his side's advantage with a stunning strike.

However, Chelsea's dominance was undone by their inability to convert their chances into goals, and it was the Bees who had the most notable misses of the day. Aleksandar Mitrovic-esque Mathias Jensen's volley from inside the area bounced off the woodwork before Alejandro Garnacho somehow failed to tap the ball home from a mere six yards out.

The game turned on its head in the second half when Chelsea were awarded a penalty, which was coolly converted by Cole Palmer. Sanchez continued to impress between the sticks with a string of brilliant saves before Nathan Collins' dreadful back pass allowed Liam Delap to score the third goal of the game for Chelsea, although it was an own goal.

The result sees Chelsea leapfrog Brentford in the Premier League table, while the Bees drop down to seventh. For Rosenior and his team, it is a much-needed three points, but also a wake-up call to get their performances up to par before they can start making waves in the top flight.

In the post-match press conference, Rosenior attributed Chelsea's lackluster display to an illness bug that has been affecting his squad, citing the night of their Carabao Cup win against Arsenal as an example. Despite this, he praised his players for their efforts and vowed to adapt his tactics to get the best out of them.

For Brentford boss Keith Andrews, the game was a mixed bag of results with his team creating more chances than they conceded but ultimately failing to capitalize on them. While he acknowledged that Chelsea's victory wasn't fair, he took pride in his side's performance level and dismissed the notion that spending money automatically means you get better players.

For Rosenior, it is all about building momentum and getting his team's performances up to par. As long as they continue to pick up wins like this, the unrest surrounding Stamford Bridge will slowly dissipate. But for now, the focus is on moving forward with a renewed sense of purpose and not resting on their laurels.

Come on guys, get it together! Chelsea's win was just plain luck, but hey, 3 points on the board means nothing if you're still getting thrashed in all these games ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. Rosenior's excuse about a bug being around is weak sauce - we've seen teams overcome worse odds and come out on top without needing to make up some sob story. Brentford did have some decent chances, but they just couldn't finish 'em off... again ๐Ÿ˜ด. And what's with all this "building momentum" nonsense? It's about time they started putting in the real work if they wanna stay competitive ๐Ÿ”ฅ.

Wow ๐Ÿ˜ฎ Brentford's wastefulness cost them big time! They created so many chances but couldn't finish them off ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ Chelsea's Robert Sanchez was amazing in goal, I'm surprised he didn't get more recognition ๐Ÿ™

Ugh, finally someone's getting some points in the Premier League... about time, right? ๐Ÿ˜’ Liam Rosenior breaks his duck, yadda yadda. I mean, it's not like he had nothing to prove before taking this job. Poor Brentford though, they looked all sorts out there. Like they were expecting a walkover or something ๐Ÿคฃ. Their fans must be having the worst time ever, watching their team get destroyed. At least they can say they played well and just didn't score... right? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

I think it's crazy that people are saying Brentford weren't fair in their loss ๐Ÿคฏ. Like, come on, you can't just blame everything on Chelsea and say they didn't deserve to win ๐Ÿ™„. And what's with the "Brentford boss Keith Andrews dismissing the notion that spending money automatically means you get better players" bit? That's kinda the point, dude ๐Ÿ˜’. If Brentford wanted to be a top flight team, they'd have spent some cash themselves! ๐Ÿ’ธ Not just relying on talent from elsewhere ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ. And another thing, can we talk about Chelsea's inability to score goals for like 45 minutes straight? ๐Ÿ˜‚ It was like they were waiting for the other shoe to drop...or in this case, a Tosin own goal ๐Ÿ‘€.

๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿ‘Ž 2-0 win but what's the point? They're still bloody rubbish! ๐Ÿ˜ค Their defense was non-existent, Sanchez had to be a hero just to keep them in it. And that own goal from Adarabioyo? ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ Unbelievable. And Cole Palmer scores a penalty and suddenly they're on top of the world? No way, mate. It's all just a load of luck at this point. ๐Ÿ˜’

man 2-0 is a decent scoreline but its all about the little things Chelsea was wasteful in front of goal i mean robbie sanchez made some incredible saves to deny brentford a second goal now its like what if brentford had scored that volley from mathias jensen we would be talking about their chances of europe instead of chelsea struggling to break into top 4 remember the good old days when teams could score 3 goals in a match and it was still a draw lol

๐Ÿค” Just wondering if Brentford's Bees is actually a bee? Sounds kinda silly, but I guess that's why they chose the name ๐Ÿ˜‚. Anyways, Liam Rosenior getting his first win in the Premier League is definitely something to celebrate for Chelsea fans! They really need this momentum to carry them through the season ๐Ÿš€. And omg, what was up with Brentford's players missing those chances?! ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ It's like they were trying to give the game away ๐Ÿ˜…. Anyway, it's all good now that they got a win and moved up in the table ๐Ÿ‘. Let's keep an eye on Chelsea's performances from now on! ๐Ÿ‘€

omg what a game!!! ๐Ÿคฏ๐Ÿ’ฅ i was literally on the edge of my seat when cole palmer slotted that penalty in lol i mean who else but chelsea can turn it around like that?? ๐Ÿ˜‚ the bees were def wasteful they had so many chances and still came away with nothing ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ anyway i'm loving liam rosenior's vibe as a manager he's all about getting results and not making excuses ๐Ÿ™Œ and speaking of results chelsea is killing it right now let's get that top 4 spot already ๐Ÿš€๐Ÿ”ฅ

๐Ÿค• So Chelsea just won the match but it's more like they won against themselves because of how poorly they played, lol ๐Ÿ˜…. Like, can you imagine if Brentford actually scored all those chances they had? ๐Ÿ™ˆ And now they're only 7th in the league and their fans are probably like "what's going on?" ๐Ÿ˜ฉ. Anyway, I guess Chelsea's win is a good thing for them but it's not like they really earned it, you feel? ๐Ÿ˜

Chelsea finally got that one off their chest ๐ŸŽฏ. The Bees thought they'd made a statement but in the end it was Chelsea who came out on top 3-0 ๐Ÿ˜. Rosenior's dodgy squad seems to be giving him some headaches, but at least they're getting results. Not exactly a dominating performance from them, but three points are three points ๐Ÿค‘. Brentford on the other hand looked like a team that could've taken it all, just had some bad luck with their finishing ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ.

I don't usually comment but I gotta say, that Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior seems like a really down-to-earth guy ๐Ÿค”. He's not afraid to admit when his team isn't performing well, which is more than most managers can say ๐Ÿ™. And honestly, it's kind of refreshing to see someone who's willing to poke fun at themselves and their players' mistakes ๐Ÿ˜‚. The fact that he's blaming an illness bug for the poor performance doesn't change the fact that his team was supposed to be way better ๐Ÿ‘Ž. Still, credit where credit is due - those three points are going to help him build momentum and get the Blues moving in the right direction โšก๏ธ.

Chelsea finally got that first Premier League win under new manager Liam Rosenior and I'm kinda surprised they didn't blow it open earlier ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ† They had so many chances but just couldn't convert them into goals. It's a good thing Cole Palmer stepped up when he did, because Sanchez would've been the one to blame if Chelsea lost that penalty ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ

And honestly, I think Rosenior has a point about his team being affected by some sort of illness bug ๐Ÿ˜ท. The way they played wasn't that bad, just... inconsistent? They had flashes of brilliance but then dropped off completely. It's like they're still finding their rhythm and getting to know each other on the pitch ๐Ÿ’ช

It's also great to see Brentford putting up a fight ๐Ÿค, even if they didn't get the result they wanted. Keith Andrews seems like a solid coach, and I love that he's not making excuses about spending money bringing in new players ๐Ÿ’ธ

Chelsea just won 3-0 against Brentford at home ๐Ÿคฉ๐Ÿ† and that's awesome! They've got 25 points from 15 games which puts them in 5th place in the league ๐Ÿ“Š๐Ÿ‘. The win gives Chelsea a massive 6 point lead over 4th placed Liverpool ๐Ÿ‘€. But, the stats don't lie... they only had 21 shots on target vs Brentford's 10 ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ”ด. Rosenior is right though, his team needs to work on converting chances into goals ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ. Brentford created more chances than Chelsea and still lost the game ๐Ÿ˜•. Also, fun fact, Chelsea has conceded just 7 goals in their last 5 games ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’ช! The Blues are definitely building momentum ๐Ÿ”ฅ.

omg i just watched that game what was going on with brentford they had so many chances but couldn't score ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ‘€ anyway i'm still trying to get used to this premier league thing can someone explain to me how teams move up in the standings ๐Ÿ“ˆ like does it depend on points or something? and btw why do they keep calling it the premier league its not that fancy anymore lol

lol 2-0 tho for blues ๐Ÿ‘, but gotta say Rosenior's reaction after the win was pretty chill considering he just got his first premier league win ๐Ÿ™„. I mean dont get me wrong the game was hard fought and all that but Chelsea didnt exactly have to work tooooo hard for it ๐Ÿ˜ด. the own goals kinda made it look less impressive than it actually was ๐Ÿคฃ still a good 3 points for them tho!

Chelsea finally got that win under Liam Rosenior ๐Ÿ˜Š, but it's not like they played all that great. I mean, 2-0 ain't bad, but it felt like they should've scored more goals, you know? They had some good chances and still managed to hold on. It's a bit of a mixed bag for me. I think Rosenior needs to work on his team's consistency, 'cause if they can't score, they're gonna struggle against the top teams. And what's with all these own goals ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ? Delap's goal was an easy one, it just happened ๐Ÿ˜…. Anyway, at least they got the win, and that's what matters right now... for now ๐Ÿ’ช

๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ‘ Chelsea finally got that first Premier League win under Liam Rosenior's leadership, and I gotta say, it was a game-changer! ๐Ÿ”„ The Blues looked kinda shaky at times, but they dug deep and came out on top. And let's not forget, Sanchez made some absolute saves in goal - the kid's got skills for days ๐Ÿ’ฅ.

It's also super encouraging to see Rosenior being honest about his team's performance. Like, yeah, there were some major issues, but he's taking responsibility and vowing to make adjustments. That shows me he's a coach who cares about getting it right ๐Ÿ™.

And can we talk about how the Bees put up such an amazing fight? ๐Ÿ˜Š They created more chances than they conceded, but just couldn't capitalize on them. I love their spirit! ๐Ÿ’ช

All in all, this win's got Chelsea feeling good vibes, and that's awesome to see ๐ŸŽ‰. Bring on the next one! โšฝ๏ธ
