Chicago-area doctor pleads not guilty in Ohio double slaying

Chicago Doctor Pleads Not Guilty in Ohio Double Slaying Case

A Chicago-area doctor has pleaded not guilty to four counts of aggravated murder and one count of aggravated burglary in connection with the double slaying of his ex-wife and her husband in Columbus, Ohio. Michael David McKee, 39, appeared in court via closed-circuit TV for just over a minute, wearing a jail uniform.

McKee, who is also known as a vascular surgeon with active medical licenses in Illinois and California and an expired license in Nevada, was arrested on January 10th by the Winnebago County sheriff's office. A hearing lasted less than two minutes before McKee entered his plea.

The killings occurred at the Tepe's home in Columbus last month, where the couple's two young children were found unharmed. According to medical licensing records, McKee had a listed address in Virginia at the time of his divorce from Monique Tepe in 2017.

Columbus homicide detectives used neighborhood video surveillance to identify McKee and linked him to his car, which was found in Rockford with evidence suggesting he had possession of it before and after the killings.

The case against McKee has gained significant attention due to his medical background and connections. A spokesperson for OSF Healthcare confirmed that McKee is no longer listed as a surgeon at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center but stated that the hospital is cooperating with authorities.

McKee will remain in custody without bail, facing four counts of aggravated murder and one count of aggravated burglary.

omg, this doc guy is like something out of a thriller movie ๐Ÿคฏ he's got multiple licenses for different states and a personal life that's just super messy... i mean, who gets arrested and then has their case go viral due to their medical background? it's just so extra ๐Ÿšจ. and the fact that his ex-wife and her hubby were found dead with no signs of foul play is just... wow ๐Ÿ˜ฒ. like, what was going through this guy's head?! i need more info on this story ASAP ๐Ÿ‘€.

OMG, this case is literally giving me major "The Sinner" vibes ๐Ÿคฏ. Like, a doctor who's supposed to be saving lives is capable of such heinous crimes? It's just so twisted. I'm also kinda impressed by the investigators โ€“ using neighborhood video surveillance and linking the car to McKee's alibi was pure genius ๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ’ก. And can we talk about how the case has got everyone talking due to his medical background and connections? It's like a real-life "Grey's Anatomy" plot twist, but not in a good way ๐Ÿ˜…. Anyway, it's clear that justice will be served, and McKee won't be able to just "operating away" from his crimes anymore ๐Ÿ’”.

๐Ÿ˜ฑ I mean what's up with this doc? He's got multiple licenses and it all seems to be a mess. And those kids, they're lucky to have escaped. ๐Ÿคž It's crazy how he just walked out on them like that. His medical career is toast now too, and honestly, he doesn't deserve the respect of his former colleagues. The fact that he had a listed address in VA at the time of divorce is wild. ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ I hope justice gets served here

๐Ÿค” I gotta say, this doc's story is wild ๐Ÿ˜ฒ. I mean, who becomes a vascular surgeon and still manages to kill his ex-wife and her husband ๐Ÿš‘? It's like, how did he even plan something like that? And what was going through his mind at the time? Was it just anger or was there more to it?

The fact that his medical background is being scrutinized by authorities is both intriguing and disturbing ๐Ÿ˜ท. I'm not sure if it'll impact the case much, but it's definitely adding a layer of complexity to this story.

One thing that's been on my mind is how these things usually happen - in the shadows, without anyone noticing ๐Ÿ•ต๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธ. It just goes to show that even with modern surveillance and technology, sometimes these heinous crimes can still slip under the radar.

It's gonna be a long road for Monique Tepe and her kids, that's for sure ๐Ÿ˜”. They're lucky to have gotten away unharmed, and now it's up to the justice system to bring this guy to justice ๐Ÿ’ช.

I'm shocked to hear about this doctor being accused of such a heinous crime ๐Ÿคฏ. I mean, who would've thought that someone with his medical credentials could be capable of something so brutal? It just goes to show that even people with good-looking exteriors can have dark secrets inside ๐Ÿ˜ฌ.

And what's really creepy is the fact that he was able to keep his professional life separate from his personal life for so long. I mean, how easy must it've been for him to maintain two completely different identities? It's like something out of a thriller movie ๐ŸŽฅ.

But you know what really gets my goat? The fact that those poor kids were lucky enough to be in school when the killings happened and survived ๐Ÿ™. They could've easily lost their parents too. Talk about being one minute away from tragedy โฑ๏ธ.

I don't even know how he managed to evade detection for so long, but it just goes to show that we can never really truly know someone. There's always a layer of secrets hiding beneath the surface ๐Ÿคซ.

This guy is like something out of a crime drama movie ๐Ÿคฏ. I mean, you're this respected doctor with multiple medical licenses, and then you go around murdering your ex-wife and her husband? It's just shocking! The fact that he was able to keep his cool enough to watch the hearing via TV and not even lose it is just insane ๐Ÿ˜‚.

And can we talk about how he had a listed address in Virginia at the time of his divorce but still managed to pull off these heinous crimes? It's like he thought he was above the law or something ๐Ÿ™„. I'm not buying it. This guy needs to rot in prison for what he's done ๐Ÿ‘Ž.

The attention this case is getting is well-deserved, though. Who wouldn't want to know more about a doctor who's capable of such evil? It's like he's got this dual life going on - one as a respected member of society and the other as a cold-blooded killer ๐Ÿ’”. Ugh, just thinking about it gives me chills ๐Ÿ˜ฑ.

what's the deal with this doc being a vascular surgeon and all? how did he manage to fly under the radar like that? i mean, you'd think with medical licenses in multiple states, there'd be some kinda record of him not being a psychopath... ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜’

and what's up with his address in virginia? that just seems suspiciously convenient. and the fact that he's got a car in rockford with evidence from before and after the killings... it all feels like a pretty solid case against him.

but you know what really gets me is how little we know about monique tepe, the wife who got killed. was she having any problems? were there any signs of trouble? it just feels like we're being fed some pretty convenient info here... and i'm not buying it without more sources, tbh ๐Ÿšซ๐Ÿ’”

Ugh I'm literally fuming about this one ๐Ÿคฏ... Can't believe some people think they can just go around committing such heinous crimes and walk away with a PhD in medicine ๐Ÿšฝ Like what even is that? A vascular surgeon, y'all? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ And now we're finding out he's been using his medical skills to plan and execute a double murder... I mean, who does that?! ๐Ÿ’” The fact that the kids were just left there unharmed is just, like, so messed up ๐Ÿ˜ฑ. How can someone be so heartless? ๐Ÿ˜ฉ The whole 'medical license' thing just adds insult to injury... it's like, hello, you're not even fit to practice medicine on a human being, let alone murder innocent people ๐Ÿšซ. And now he's behind bars with no bail? Justice is finally being served, I guess ๐Ÿ™...

๐Ÿคฏ What's going on with docs?! I mean, I know they're supposed to be professionals, but it's crazy how someone like this can still hold a license. And 4 counts of aggravated murder? That's some serious stuff right there! How did the authorities even catch him so fast? Neighborhood video surveillance? That's like something out of a movie ๐Ÿ“บ I'm surprised they found his car with evidence too, that must've been a tough clue to crack ๐Ÿ’ก And what about those kids? They were just sitting there while this whole thing went down. Hope they're okay, but also hope the guy gets justice for what he's done ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

I mean, can you blame this guy for trying to escape his life? I know it's no excuse for killing two people, but come on... a doctor with that much medical background and connections, and he's still dealing with a messy divorce? It's like the universe was just piling it on him. And those kids, being left unharmed? That's just cruel luck.

I'm not saying I condone what McKee did, but... has our justice system really become so obsessed with his medical credentials? Can't they see he's still human? I mean, who hasn't had a rough patch in their life at some point? It's like we're making doctors out to be above the law just because of their profession. I'm all for accountability, but can't we try to understand the complexities of someone's situation before throwing the book at them?

And what really gets me is how this case is gonna affect his medical license and reputation... it's like, doesn't that already exist? Can't he just get a new start somewhere else? Life's too short, you know?

๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ can't believe this guy's face when he showed up on TV like "oh hi, I'm the killer ๐Ÿ™ƒ". 39 and already a seasoned murderer, who knew all those late nights spent saving lives would translate to killing his own? ๐Ÿ˜’ anyway, 4 counts of aggravated murder is still 4 counts of straight-up evil. ๐Ÿšซ the fact that he's got a medical license in Illinois and California is just wild, like how does one switch from saving lives to taking them? ๐Ÿคฏ what's next, a psychopathic surgeon with a side hustle as a hitman? ๐Ÿ˜‚ OSF Healthcare is definitely losing some serious cred if they're letting him go to the chopping block so to speak. bail? what's that even mean in this case? just gonna give the guy a cozy little cell to brood over his questionable life choices ๐Ÿ›‹๏ธ

this doc's life is totally messed up ๐Ÿ˜ฉ his medical career & personal life all went downhill after the divorce ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ i mean, who gets a new address in Virginia just bc they're going thru a rough time? seems like he thought he could just leave it all behind but now he's facing some serious consequences ๐Ÿ’ฅ at least the kids are safe tho ๐Ÿ‘ถ๐Ÿผ his not guilty plea doesn't change the fact that he's still a suspect in 2 very brutal murders ๐Ÿš”
