Chicago's Warm Love Cool Dreams Festival Returns with Courtney Barnett and Tortoise

The wait is over for music lovers in the Windy City as local festival Warm Love Cool Dreams returns to the Salt Shed on May 23 and 24. The two-day extravaganza promises to be a celebration of diverse sounds, featuring Australian singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett alongside Chicago bands Whitney and Tortoise, as well as '80s Scottish rock legends the Jesus and Mary Chain.

The eclectic lineup also boasts Grammy-nominated electronic indie artist Toro y Moi, rising local electronic trio Pixel Grip, Baltimore singer-producer Nourished by Time, and "cosmic country" group Tobacco City. The festival's organizers aim to amplify the next wave of boundary-pushing artists, bringing together Chicago's vibrant music scene with the global avant-garde.

The event will take place across various venues, including the indoor space, outdoor Fairgrounds, rooftop bar, and arcade, as well as river boats along Goose Island. With a general admission policy for all tickets, fans can expect an immersive experience that blends music, art, and community.

Tickets for single and two-day passes go on sale February 6, marking the start of another exciting chapter in Warm Love Cool Dreams' history. Get ready to immerse yourself in a weekend of sonic exploration and discovery with some of the most innovative artists pushing the boundaries of music today.

omg I'm so stoked for this festival! 🀩 It's like, the perfect lineup - Courtney Barnett is my absolute fave, she's so talented and her vibes are everything 🌸. And Tortoise is a legend, their psychedelic sound is like, totally out of this world ✨. Plus, who wouldn't want to see the Jesus and Mary Chain live? They're like, the ultimate '80s rockers 🀘. And the fact that there's an arcade and river boats at the festival? That's just genius 😎. I'm really hoping to score some tickets for the weekend of May 23rd and 24th, can't wait to dance my heart out with all those cool cats πŸ’ƒπŸ»! Do you think it's gonna be a crazy crowd? πŸ€”

omg i'm so stoked that Warm Love Cool Dreams is back 🀩! it feels like just yesterday i was at their first festival in chicago (i think it was 2018?) and they had this amazing lineup with alt-j and tv on the radio... now they're bringing some awesome new artists to the table, like Courtney Barnett 🎸. i'm really hyped to see Toro y Moi live again, his sets are always so chill and eclectic 😌. and of course, can't forget about Tortoise - those guys are legends πŸ™. anyway, can't wait for may 23rd & 24th... fingers crossed they have some epic surprise guests πŸ˜‰

Wow 🀩! The lineup for this festival is fire πŸ”₯! I'm loving the mix of local Chicago bands and global indie legends. Courtney Barnett is a total fave of mine and I've been listening to her nonstop lately 🎡. And can we talk about the Jesus and Mary Chain? They're like, totally iconic 🀘. The addition of Toro y Moi and Pixel Grip is also super exciting - their electronic sound is exactly what I'm craving right now πŸ’». This festival just sounds like the ultimate sonic adventure! 🌈

OMG, I'm so stoked for this festival!! Courtney Barnett is like my ultimate girl crush lol she's got such a unique sound that's both catchy & deep at the same time. And can we talk about the lineup tho? It's like they're trying to bring together all these different genres and it's going to be SO cool! I love how they're not just focusing on one type of music, but rather showcasing all this diversity. Plus, it's in Chicago which is already an amazing city for music lovers. The fact that they're having it at the Salt Shed & other venues around the island sounds like so much fun too!

omg i'm so stoked that warm love cool dreams is back in chicago!!! 🀩 they're gonna have the best lineup ever, can't wait to see courtney barnett live! tortoise is another fave of mine and i've heard great things about toro y moi. it's not just about the music tho, the whole vibe of the festival sounds so cool with all these sick art installations and a rooftop bar πŸŽ‰πŸ». can't wait to get my tickets on the 6th!

I'm so stoked about this festival but you know who's gonna be watching their wallet? The city's middle class fams! Single-day passes are gonna be way outta reach for them, so they'll have to shell out big bucks for two-day passes or hope they score some last-minute deals. Meanwhile, the fest's general admission policy is a nod to the DIY ethos, but let's be real, it's just a ploy to keep ticket prices low and maximize profits. I mean, who needs the city's economic stimulus when you can have Courtney Barnett and the Jesus and Mary Chain?

OMG u guys warm love cool dreams festival is back in chicago!! πŸŽ‰ can't wait 2 c courtney barnett live tho she's like my fave u should def come thru w/ ur pic grip merch πŸ‘•πŸ”₯ also love that they're pushin 4 boundary-pushers not just your typical mainstream acts 🀘 some1 needs 2 tell me where the arcade is gonna be tho lol will b def checkin out Toro y Moi too 🎢

omg i'm so down for this festival πŸŽ‰πŸŽΆ! i've been listening to courtney barnett's album nonstop lately and she's literally one of my fave aussie bands. tortoise is also on my playlist lol, they're like the ultimate chill vibes. i love how they're bringing together all these different artists from chicago and around the world - it sounds so cool 🌎. and can we talk about the venues? a rooftop bar and arcade? that's like, festival heaven 😍. i'm definitely getting tickets as soon as they go on sale... have you heard of pixel grip or toro y moi? are they gonna bring any new music to the fest?

Ugh, I'm so over all these music festivals 🀯. They're just gonna be crowded and expensive, and you'll probably end up hearing the same old indie nonsense that's been playing on Spotify for years 😴. And Courtney Barnett? She's fine, I guess... but Tortoise is just a bunch of dudes who make weird noise 🎸. The Jesus and Mary Chain are cool, I'll give them that... but "cosmic country"? That's just a marketing gimmick πŸ€ͺ. And have you seen the prices for tickets? $200 for two days? Are people really gonna shell out that kind of cash to hear some bands play πŸ€‘. Give me a break.

omg i'm so hyped that warm love cool dreams is back!!! courtney Barnett is literally my spirit animal 🐰😍 and tortoise is like, my favorite jam band ever πŸŽΈπŸ‘ can't wait to see them live on may 23 & 24! been following pixel grip for ages, they're like the future of electronic music πŸ”₯πŸ’ƒ got any idea who's gonna bring the party vibes? river boats along goose island are a genius move btw πŸŒŠπŸŽ‰

I'm so stoked about this festival 🀩! I mean, can you imagine a whole weekend of amazing music, art, and community vibes? It's like the perfect recipe for self-care and relaxation 🌱. I love that they're featuring both local Chicago bands and international artists - it's going to be such a cool melting pot of sounds 🎡. And with all these different venues, you'll get to experience everything from outdoor festivals to intimate indoor spaces... it's like a mini-vacation for your senses 😴. Plus, it's great that they're supporting up-and-coming artists and encouraging creativity 🌈. Can't wait to grab my tickets on the 6th of February and get ready for an epic weekend of chill vibes and sick beats 😎

Ugh I remember when my friends and I used to stay up till 3 am dancing at this tiny club in Wicker Park, now we're all having kids and can't even make it to a festival anymore 🀣. But, for real though, Courtney Barnett is coming back to Chicago and that's gonna be lit! Tortoise always brings out the nostalgia vibes for me, I'm super hyped to see them live again. The lineup seems fire, but I'm a little bummed there aren't any more '90s bands πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ. Anyway, I heard the festival is taking over some new spots this year, like the rooftop bar and arcade... that's gonna be so cool!
