Anthropic's Chatbot Claude Gains Deeper App Integration Capabilities

Claude, a conversational AI chatbot from Anthropic, has just received a significant update that allows it to integrate more deeply with popular third-party apps such as Canva and Slack.

The new capabilities enable users to fetch files directly from these platforms or perform tasks within them on their behalf. For instance, Claude can now search for files in Box, preview documents inline, and even answer questions about the content of a document. Moreover, when connected to Asana, it can convert chats into projects, tasks, and timelines that co-workers can easily interact with.

This update marks a significant milestone in Anthropic's efforts to build seamless integrations between its chatbot and third-party apps. With this new functionality, Claude has become an even more powerful tool for teams looking to streamline their workflow and improve productivity.

Anthropic credits the success of these integrations to its Model Context Protocol (MCP) technology, which was released in fall 2024.
