Expect delays on I-95 in Northeast Philly as PennDOT schedules lane closures for repairs

Travelers in Northeast Philly face a potentially frustrating commute as PennDOT announces lane closures for repairs along Interstate 95. Starting this weekend and continuing into next week, drivers can expect delays due to scheduled maintenance.

Crews will be patching the northbound and southbound sides of the highway between Exit 27 for Allegheny Avenue and Exit 30 for Cottman Avenue, resulting in lane closures. The first set of closures kicks off on Saturday morning, with no PennDOT work scheduled for Sunday. However, road crews will resume their activities from Monday through Wednesday.

Here's a breakdown of the planned closure schedule: on Saturday, southbound lanes will be closed between 8 am and 4 pm; on Monday, southbound lanes will be closed between 9:30 am and 4 pm; on Tuesday, northbound lanes will be closed between 9 am and 3 pm; and on Wednesday, northbound lanes will also be closed for the same duration.

Meanwhile, another project is set to begin on Monday that promises significant improvements to the intersections of Packer Avenue at Columbus Boulevard and Delaware Avenue. The $8.8 million renovation includes widening the intersection, new sidewalk installations, and enhanced safety features. Lane closures at these intersections will remain in place until September 15.

It's essential for drivers to plan their routes accordingly, as all closure schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions. Motorists can stay up-to-date with real-time project information by visiting PennDOT's 511 website or following the department on social media and calling 511.

Ugh, commute stress is NO joke 🤯! I'm so over these lane closures already... it feels like a never-ending cycle of delays and frustration 😩. Like, can't they just do the repairs at night when everyone's home? 🌃 Or better yet, make the roads wider in the first place?! It's all about efficiency, right? 💪 Anyway, I'm going to plan my routes ahead of time and try to avoid that area if possible... anyone else have a favorite alternative route? 😊

Ugh, I'm so sick of these lane closures! 🤯 Can't they just do it at night when everyone's home? It's gonna be a nightmare for commuters this weekend! And what's up with the delays on Monday and Tuesday? 🙄 Can't PennDOT plan better? These projects are always disrupting our lives... I swear, $8.8 million is a lot of money for an intersection renovation 🤑. And what's the point of widening the intersections if they're just gonna close more lanes anyway? 🤔 At least they have the 511 website and social media to keep us updated... not like it's gonna make a difference with all these changes 🙃

Ugh, I hate when they do this! Lane closures on I-95 is always a nightmare 🚗😩. Can't believe they're doing it for repairs, like isn't that what maintenance is for? 💁‍♀️ Anyway, I'm gonna have to plan my weekend commute in advance... maybe I'll just take public transport or listen to podcasts while stuck in traffic 🎧📻. And good luck to those who need to use Packer Avenue areas - hope they don't get too frustrated with the lane closures for that renovation too 🤦‍♀️.

Ugh, road rage already? 🙄 Like, I know we need these repairs but do we really have to make our lives more complicated? Lane closures on 95 are gonna be a nightmare! What if you're running late for work or have a family errand and can't even get out of your car? And don't even get me started on the traffic around those intersections... $8.8 million renovation sounds good and all, but is it worth the headaches we'll endure in the meantime? 🤔

ugh interstate 95 is always such a nightmare. like what even is the deal with all these lane closures? can't they just do it at night or something? anyway, i'm sure some people will be all "oh well" and just take the detour but let's be real, who actually enjoys sitting in traffic. 🙄

Wow 😩 Interstate 95 commute is gonna be a nightmare this weekend 🤯! Lane closures starting Saturday morning, ugh. And they're not just limited to that day, Monday through Wednesday is when things get worse 💔. Plus, there's another project starting on Monday that'll add more lane closures 🚧. Guess we should all start planning our routes now 🗺️...

OMG, ARE YOU KIDDING ME????!!! LANE CLOSURES ALONG I-95 IN NORHEAST PHILLY ARE GOING TO GIVE PEOPLE A SERIOUS HEADACHE THIS WEEKEND!!!! CAN WE JUST GET SOME NEW ROADS AROUND HERE?????!?! IT'S NOT LIKE IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD, BUT IT'S ANNOYING ENOUGH AS IS. AND NOW THEY'RE TELLING US THERE MIGHT BE CLOSURES ON MONDAY TOO????!!! I SWEAR, PENNDOT MUST LOVE PLAYING PRANKS ON US!!!! BUT SERIOUSLY, JUST PLAN YOUR ROUTES AHEAD OF TIME AND YOU'LL BE FINE 🙄😒

Ugh, this is gonna be a nightmare for commuters! I mean, it's not like they didn't see this coming, but still... lane closures on I-95 are always a pain. And now we gotta deal with another project that'll have us stuck in traffic even longer. The Packer Avenue renovation sounds cool and all, but the fact that it's gonna be up until September 15 is just crazy 🤯. Can't they just finish these projects faster? I'm guessing all these lane closures will just lead to more congestion and frustration for everyone... let's hope they can get it together and manage the traffic better 💪
