F1 testing: Isack Hadjar crashes new Red Bull in Barcelona wet as McLaren wait until Wednesday

Red Bull driver Isack Hadjar was involved in a crash during the second day of Formula 1 pre-season testing at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, with his car hitting the barriers after losing control on a set of intermediate tyres. The incident occurred in damp conditions, which made it difficult for the Frenchman to maintain traction.

The test is being held privately without independent media access, and Red Bull has not responded to requests for comment on the incident. Team principal Laurent Mekies described the conditions as "very tricky" and attributed Hadjar's mistake to the wet weather, saying "it was very unfortunate that it finished that way, but it's part of the game."

Hadjar had completed a number of laps without incident earlier in the day, and his crash was seen as a minor blip in what had been a positive testing session for Red Bull.

McLaren, who were scheduled to run on Tuesday before deciding to wait until Wednesday due to the weather, did not take part in any running on the second day. The team's plan is to use each of the final three days of the test to gain more experience with their new car.

Ferrari drivers Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton were among those who took part in the wet conditions, completing a total of 123 laps between them. Hamilton described the car as "very challenging" but said it had been a productive day for Ferrari.

πŸ€” so red bull's isack hadjar has a bit of a moment on the track and his team isn't saying much about it...not surprising really, private tests can be pretty tight-lipped πŸ™. still, you'd think laurent mekies would give us some insight into what happened - i mean, he called the conditions "very tricky" so it's not like it was a straightforward mistake 😬. meanwhile, mclaren are being super cautious with their car, i get that, but ferrari seems to be handling the wet weather pretty well πŸ’ͺ. and hamilton says his new ride is "very challenging"...not sure if that's good or bad πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

So Red Bull is playin quiet about this crash... that dont sit right with me πŸ€”. Team principal says its part of the game, but if they cant even be bothered to give us some comment, that say somethin about how much they care about their driver's well-being πŸ€‘. And Hadjar was doin alright till he lost control on them intermediate tyres... it would've been good to see what exactly happened πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. Maybe its just a precautionary thing, but still, you got to wonder if there was somethin more goin on πŸ€”

come on isack whats wrong with this guy πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ gotta lose control in the wet lol ferrari & hamilton slaying it over here tho, 123 laps between them is like, insane ⏱️ and mclaren is just sitting there not even trying to put a car out on track, poor show 🚫

omg what a drama 🀯 i mean isack hadjar is alright he made one mistake and now its all over the place lol why red bull didnt give any statement is so suspicious πŸ€‘ anyway accident or not, ferrari and mclaren seems to be doing well in this wet test 🌧️

OMG, poor Isack Hadjar πŸ€•! I feel bad for him, gotta be super focused to maintain control on those slippery tyres πŸ˜‚. The conditions were indeed super tricky, even for the pros like Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton πŸ’¦. I'm glad Ferrari's day was productive, but I hope Red Bull's team is okay too 🀞. Accidents happen, right? At least it wasn't a major issue, just a minor blip in an otherwise positive testing session 😊.

this is what happens when they rush into new tech without testing it properly πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ... intermediate tyres in damp conditions? who tests that? red bull should've known better, it's like they're trying to save money instead of focusing on safety πŸ˜’. hadjar was fine till then and now he's out for the day. what if he gets hurt badly? ferrari at least played it safe with hamilton, maybe they have some kinda vetting process in place πŸ€”... but still, how can red bull expect to perform well in the season with this kind of test setup? seems like a total waste of resources πŸ’Έ

omg I'm low-key shocked that Isack Hadjar crashed out πŸ€―πŸš— his team Red Bull didn't give much info tho πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ, Laurent Mekies just kept it short and sweet 😎, i feel bad 4 him tho, gotta be super unlucky in those conditions 🌧️. and btw Hamilton's Ferrari sounds like a beast πŸ”₯πŸ’¨ 123 laps is no joke! think red bull's new car could be a game changer πŸ’ͺ🏽 now I'm curious to see what else they'll do during the test πŸ€”

So another day, another crash πŸ™„. I mean, who doesn't love watching drivers spin out on slick tires in the pouring rain? It's not like anyone saw that one coming πŸ˜‚. Red Bull should really invest in some better tire management... or just get a driver with a PhD in "I'm going to try to drive through a puddle" πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. And nice job, McLaren, playing it safe and deciding to wait for the sun to come out so you can show off your new car πŸ˜’. Ferrari's just happy to have someone to talk to while they're stuck in the wet, right? πŸ’β€β™€οΈ
