GAA National Leagues: Armagh impress in Monaghan victory but defeats for Cavan, Fermanagh and Antrim

Armagh Kicks Off Division One Campaign with Dominant Win Over Monaghan

In a convincing start to the season, Armagh's Division One campaign got off to a flying start as they cruised past Monaghan by 9 points in Clones. The Orchard County side, managed by Kieran McGeeney, showcased their quality with an impressive 1-27 to 0-18 victory.

The game was almost over at half-time despite Monaghan's late second-half efforts. A goal from Andrew Murnin sealed the win for Armagh, who ran out comfortable winners in a contest that never really looked in doubt.

In contrast, Cavan's Division Two opener ended in disappointment as they squandered a 7-point lead against Cork at Pairc Ui Chaoimh. The Rebels staged a remarkable late turnaround to snatch a narrow 0-24 to 2-17 win, leaving Cavan reeling from their first league loss of the campaign.

Fermanagh's Division Three debut was marked by defeat as Wexford claimed a 4-point victory over the Ernesiders in Brewster Park. Gavin Sheehan netted the winner just before half-time for the promoted side.

Antrim's first game under Mark Doran ended in defeat against Carlow, who built up a 5-point lead despite conceding a late goal to Joseph Finnegan. The Saffrons were unable to mount a comeback and fell to a 2-4 to 0-9 loss at Portglenone.

The Division Three hurling clash between Tyrone and Donegal ended in a 3-23 to 1-18 win for the Tir Chonaill men, marking a slow start for new manager Declan Bonner.

So I'm thinking Armagh is looking solid this season πŸ€” they totally destroyed Monaghan at half-time, what was going through their heads? πŸ˜‚ And Cavan's collapse in Cork was crazy, 7 points up and then just losing it all. That Cork team is on fire πŸ”₯. Fermanagh got a tough start with Wexford winning, but at least Gavin Sheehan scored the winner for them, that's something to build on πŸ™Œ. Antrim's loss to Carlow is a bit of a worry, they looked like they couldn't cope under pressure ⏰. And in hurling, Tyrone looks like they've got some work to do after getting thrashed by Donegal πŸ˜…, hope Declan Bonner can sort them out soon πŸ‘Š

omg what a day for armagh they absolutely smashed it lol 9 points is huge i know cavan got thrashed by cork but hey at least they didn't get destroyed like fermanagh did wexford was the star man in that one Gavin sheehan scored the winner just when it mattered most also that hurling match between tyrone and donegal was insane 3-23 to 1-18 is a big margin i'm loving this division one campaign so far 🀩🏈

OMG u guys i was watching this armagh vs monaghan game online n they were SO GOOD!!! i mean kieran mcgeeney is like a genius coach or watever lol anyway armagh had like 10 points at halftime already n monaghan was just trying to catch up but it was too late . and that goal from andrew murnin sealed the win for them . i felt bad 4 monaghan tho cuz they were playing so well & stuff , but u cant beat a good team n armagh is def one of them

OMG 🀯, I'm loving how Armagh started their season off with such a convincing win! 😎 Their team is looking super strong and I think they've got a good shot at taking that Division One title πŸ’ͺ. The way they dominated Monaghan in the end was so impressive πŸ‘. And yikes, Cavan's Division Two opener must have been so frustrating for them 😩. They dropped the ball big time against Cork! πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ Anyway, I'm excited to see how the rest of the season unfolds πŸŽ‰. Who else thinks Armagh is gonna make a good run in this league? πŸ€”

come on armagh lol they looked so convincing out there 🀩 9 points over monaghan is massive, i was expecting it to be a lot closer but they really showed their quality. kieran mcgeeney's management skills are looking πŸ”’ strong atm πŸ‘

I'm still trying to wrap my head around these GAA results 🀯🏈 I mean, Armagh was on fire against Monaghan! A 9-point win is impressive, especially considering they were up by that much at half-time πŸ˜…. But what's with Cavan having a meltdown like that? They had a 7-point lead and then it just slipped away πŸ€”. And Fermanagh getting beaten in their debut game πŸ™ˆ... I guess you can't win 'em all. The hurling results are pretty interesting, though - Tyrone's new manager is going to have some work to do 😬.

omg just watched armagh's match 🀯 they were on fire! πŸ˜‚ kieran mcgeeney is a genius coach i mean 1-27 to nothing against monaghan thats insane πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ cant wait to see how the rest of their season goes πŸ‘€

OMG, Armagh is on fire this season already πŸš€πŸ”₯! I mean, 9 points over Monaghan? That's insane! Kieran McGeeney must be doing something right 😎. And what's up with Cavan's Division Two opener? 7 points lead and then they just lose it all? 🀯 They gotta get their act together soon or they'll be out of the league 🚫.

And poor Fermanagh, they got rolled by Wexford πŸ€•. Guess that Gavin Sheehan guy is good for a start ⚽️. Antrim's loss to Carlow isn't too bad though, I mean they had some tough opponents to face πŸ”₯. And Tyrone and Donegal's hurling match? Wow, 3-23 to 1-18? That's like... whoa 😲! Guess Declan Bonner has some work to do πŸ€”.

I'm so glad Armagh is off to such a great start to their season πŸ™Œ! Those lads are looking sharp and confident on the pitch. I love how they took control of that game early on and just ran with it πŸ’¨. And Andrew Murnin's goal was a great finish πŸ”₯. It's always great to see a team perform well in front of their own fans, it must be an electric atmosphere at Clones. πŸ˜„

omg can u believe armagh is on fire already! 🀯 they smashed monaghan like that's nothing, i'm hyped for their season πŸ‘ kieran mcgeeney must be doing somethin right πŸ˜‚ and poor cavan, 7 point lead and still loses? πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ what's goin on with them?! πŸ˜‰ anyway, wexford got a big win in div3 over fermanagh, that's some solid footy 🏈 and antrim got served by carlow 😳 but overall, armagh is lookin like the team to beat right now πŸ’ͺ

Omg I'm so hyped about Armagh's performance 🀩! They totally destroyed Monaghan, 9 points is huge πŸ’₯. And that goal by Andrew Murnin was clutch 🎯. But I gotta say, Cavan's loss to Cork stings πŸ˜”. I mean, they had it in the bag and then just fell apart. And Fermanagh got smashed by Wexford πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ. Not exactly the best start for them. At least Antrim gave it a go, but Carlow was way too strong πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ. And Tyrone's hurling win is cool, but I'm not sure about Declan Bonner yet πŸ€”... Guess we'll just have to wait and see how the season goes! πŸ‘€

ugh, these games are all just reminders that every team has ups and downs... armagh's win is awesome tho, but you gotta give it to monaghan, they didn't go down without a fight 🀯 cavan got robbed on the scoreboard, that 7-point lead just slipped away... and fermanagh, well, they're still finding their footing. division three is super competitive right now, wexford's win was a nice surprise 😊 but carlow pulled off a solid performance. one thing's for sure, these teams are gonna be battle-ready by the end of the season πŸ’ͺ

omg what's gonna happen if they dont get sponsors?? like armagh is already getting some cash from the gaa but its not enough they need more or they might have to cut staff idk how that would go lol πŸ€”πŸ€‘
