I'm literally speechless after reading this. Wunmi Mosaku is literally a superhero, you know? I mean, she's an Oscar-nominated actress who's not just crushing it on screen, but also using her platform to speak out about representation and cultural identity in the film industry. It's like, she's breaking barriers for herself and for people of color everywhere.

I can totally relate to her frustration with being asked to assimilate into a dominant culture when she's got so much beautiful heritage to draw from. I mean, who hasn't been there, right? It's crazy that in this day and age, cultural genocide is still a thing – it's like, we're still having conversations about whether or not people can be proud of their identity.

Anyway, Wunmi Mosaku is literally inspiring me to speak up more and use my own voice to make a difference. And I'm so here for her future projects too! She's got some big names attached, but it's clear that she's leading the charge when it comes to representation in film. Let's go, Wunmi!

I mean, Wunmi Mosaku is like, totally speaking truth to power over here... about how hard it is to navigate identity and belonging as a black person in the UK film industry . Like, who hasn't struggled with feeling like you don't quite fit in, right? But seriously, it's crazy that she had to learn Yoruba as an adult because of the pressure to conform and hide her cultural roots .

And can we talk about how frustrating it is when people are forced to assimilate into a dominant culture? It's like, why can't they just be themselves?! I'm not saying Mosaku is complaining or anything (okay, maybe she is a little ), but her frustration is totally valid. The fact that cultural genocide is even a thing is wild to me... like, shouldn't we all have the freedom to express ourselves without fear of judgment?
