Labor's hate speech laws pass Senate in late-night vote as Nationals split from Liberals to oppose bill

idk why australia needs laws that gonna chill freedom of speech lol 🤔 but i guess its better than having hate groups running amok. the gun buyback scheme is a good move tho, cant have ppl just waltzing around with AR15s like they own the place 🚫 what really gets me is how some people are gonna be banned for speaking out against israel without even being an extremist lol what's next? gonna get you for liking a tweet that criticizes israel too?! 🤦‍♂️

I'm so worried about this new law 🤕. It sounds like it's giving the authorities way too much power to control what people can say and believe. I mean, can you imagine if they came after us back in the day when we were protesting against the government's policies? It would've been a total nightmare 😱.

And what about free speech, right? I remember the good old days when we could express ourselves without fear of retribution. Now it seems like everything has to be filtered through some kind of lens to avoid offending someone. It's just not right 🤔.

I'm all for gun safety and combating hate groups, but this new law feels like a slippery slope to me. What's next? Censoring online content? I hope the opposition is being loud enough to stop this from happening 🗣️.
