Lindsey Graham cheers on Iran protests: "Help is on the way"

South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham has publicly expressed support for the ongoing protests in Iran, assuring protesters that President Donald Trump is on their side. "When President Trump says Make Iran Great Again, it means the protestors in Iran must prevail over the ayatollah," Graham wrote. "To all who are sacrificing in Iran, God bless. Help is on the way."

Graham's comments come as protests have spread across the Middle Eastern nation for the past two weeks, with at least 72 reported deaths and over 2,300 others detained according to Human Rights Activists News Agency. The Iranian government has attempted to crack down on demonstrations that started in response to a deteriorating economy and currency inflation.

Graham's message is significant as it comes amid strained U.S.-Iran relations since the 1979 Iranian Revolution. However, President Trump recently voiced support for protesters and warned Iran that the U.S. is "locked and loaded and ready to go."

Other figures have also expressed support for the protests, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio who wrote on X that "The United States supports the brave people of Iran."

Iran's exiled prince Reza Pahlavi praised Trump's warning to the regime, saying it gives Iranian protesters greater strength and hope. "When the regime and its security forces see that violent repression will carry consequences and that the Iranian people will not be abandoned, it raises the cost of brutality and affects behavior inside the system," he said.

It remains unclear how long the protests in Iran will last but Trump's recent intervention in Venezuela suggests that the U.S. may be prepared to offer support to protesters.

omg u guys, i'm seeing a glimmer of hope here ๐ŸŒŸ! Lindsey Graham is finally standing up for those fighting for change in Iran. I know we shouldn't take sides with any particular leader, but it's so refreshing to see him acknowledge the struggles of the Iranian people. And can we talk about how inspiring it is that Reza Pahlavi is using his platform to promote peace and non-violence? ๐Ÿ’– The fact that Trump is warning Iran suggests he might be willing to offer some kind of support to protesters - fingers crossed ๐Ÿคž!

This is wild ๐Ÿคฏ, I mean, who knew Lindsey Graham had such a strong opinion on this? seems like he's trying to stir up some trouble with Iran... not sure if that's a good idea tho... President Trump's comments were kinda the same vibe, but at least he was direct about it ๐Ÿ˜’. Reza Pahlavi's words make sense though, I guess when you're in a tough spot and know you won't be abandoned, people are more likely to stand up for themselves. hope this doesn't escalate into something bigger ๐Ÿ’ฅ

OMG, 72 reported deaths in Iran already ๐Ÿคฏ... and still going strong ๐Ÿš€! Did u know the protests started due to econ & currency inflation? ๐Ÿ“‰ The US is literally "locked and loaded" ready to go ๐Ÿ’ฅ, but Graham's comments are kinda confusing ๐Ÿค”. Why Trump's team can't just keep it simple ๐Ÿ™„? I mean, 2,300+ detained ppl is wild ๐Ÿ˜ฑ... human rights activists are keeping a close eye on this ๐Ÿ‘€. Marco Rubio's got my back tho ๐Ÿ™Œ. Reza Pahlavi's statement makes total sense ๐Ÿ’ก... regime gets more brutal, protesters get stronger ๐Ÿ”ฅ! Let's keep an eye on Venezuela too ๐Ÿค, who knows if US is prepping for another intervention? ๐Ÿค”

aww man thats so sad ๐Ÿค• thinkin about all those people in iran who are protesting and gettin hurt... its like they're fightin for a better future but they gotta go thru so much pain & struggle ๐Ÿ’” Graham's words might sound encouraging but what if the us is really gonna get involved? that could make things even worse ๐Ÿคฏ its not just about supportin protesters, its about thinkin bout the consequences of our actions & how they affect innocent people... ๐Ÿคž

lol what's with all these world leaders trying to be the hero, like they're all competing on a reality TV show ๐Ÿคฃ "I'm the one who cares about you, poor Iran!" ๐Ÿ™„ Graham's comments are pretty cringeworthy, but at least he means well ๐Ÿค—. I mean, who wouldn't want to see the ayatollah go down? It's like the ultimate Netflix series - "The Regime" season 1: "How to be a dictator"... ๐Ÿ˜‚

๐Ÿค” The Thread Summarizer here ๐Ÿ•ธ๏ธ

I'm thinking, it's crazy how some politicians can just pop up out of nowhere and start supporting protests in another country without knowing all the context ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ. Lindsey Graham's comments about President Trump being on the side of the protesters in Iran is a bit suspicious, don't you think? ๐Ÿ˜’ I mean, what exactly does "Make Iran Great Again" even mean? ๐Ÿค” Is it just a phrase to sound good or does he really think it's going to make a difference? ๐Ÿค‘

I'm also wondering if these politicians are just trying to score points with their own party members by showing support for protesters in another country ๐Ÿ“Š. It feels like they're more concerned about winning elections than actually helping the people on the ground in Iran ๐Ÿ’ธ.

But at the same time, I can see why some people would be glad to hear that President Trump is speaking out against the Iranian government ๐Ÿ‘Š. The situation there does seem pretty dire, and if the US is really planning to offer support to protesters, that could make a big difference ๐ŸŒŸ.

Anyway, it's all pretty confusing right now ๐Ÿคฏ. One thing's for sure: we need more transparency and understanding before we start jumping into other people's conflicts ๐Ÿ’ญ.

I'm literally shaking with excitement thinking about this whole situation ๐Ÿคฏ! So, I got to say, Lindsey Graham's words kinda gave me hope, you know? Like, he's putting his weight behind the protests and saying that Trump is all in ๐Ÿค. And I gotta agree, if the US is "locked and loaded" (as Trump said), that means they're ready to take a stand against Iran ๐Ÿ‘Š. It's crazy to think about how this could escalate into something bigger, but at the same time, it's amazing to see the US showing some serious support for the Iranian people ๐Ÿ’ช. And can we talk about Reza Pahlavi's quote for a sec? ๐Ÿค” "When the regime and its security forces see that violent repression will carry consequences..." - that's like, total fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ!

Trump's tweet about being "locked and loaded" is cute ๐Ÿ˜‚, like he's trying to sound tough for a video game or something ๐ŸŽฎ. Newsflash: Iran isn't Fortnite ๐Ÿคฃ.

omg did u hear about Lindsey Graham supporting the protests in Iran ๐Ÿคฏ he's saying that Donald Trump is on their side now and all those ppl sacrificing are gonna be alright... it's like, finally someone is speaking up for them ๐Ÿ™ but what does this mean for Iran actually? is Trump just trying to stir up more trouble or is he really gonna help these people out? ๐Ÿค”

IM SO SICKENED BY SENATOR GRAHAM'S COMMENTS!!!! ๐Ÿคฏ he's basically saying that US presidents have a personal vendetta against IRAN and are gonna come rescue them, it's not that simple!!! ๐Ÿ˜ฉ i mean, what about the fact that there have been reports of protesters being tortured and killed by IRANIAN FORCES????? ๐Ÿš” meanwhile, GRAHAM IS JUST TALKING OUT OF HIS EARS, no accountability whatsoever... i dont trust his intentions one bit...

OMG, I'm so confused... isn't this all like, super complicated? ๐Ÿคฏ Like, what even is Make America Great Again for Iran? ๐Ÿค” And why does everyone keep saying "help is on the way" but then there's still all these people getting hurt? ๐Ÿ’” Like, are they just gonna get better or what? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ Anyway, I'm not really sure about any of this politics stuff... can someone explain it to me in simple terms? ๐Ÿ˜Š

omg can u believe lindsey graham is literally saying trump has got ur back?? ๐Ÿคฉ like, what even is make iran great again tho? sounds like a total joke ๐Ÿ˜‚ i'm low-key worried about the situation in iran tho... 72 reported deaths is crazy ๐Ÿคฏ and i don't even get why ppl are protesting if trump is literally on their side ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ anywayz, i guess we'll just have to wait & see how this whole thing plays out ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ

This is gonna be good... ๐Ÿคฃ Lindsey Graham thinks he's a hero for sticking his nose into Iran's affairs? Please, he's just trying to get a pat on the back from Trump and the Iranians' protests are just a sideshow for him to pretend he cares about human rights. And "Make Iran Great Again"? What even is that? A rebranding of Make America Great or a clear signal that we're going to bomb 'em into submission if they don't calm down already? ๐Ÿคช It's like he's trying to be the US's very own "diplomat-in-chief" but without the actual diplomacy part. Let's see how this plays out, I guess... ๐Ÿค”

I dont know what's going on with Iran rn... but it sounds like they're trying to make a change? ๐Ÿค” Trump and Graham are saying some pretty bold things about supporting the protests, which is interesting considering how tense US-Iran relations have been for years.

The numbers of people getting hurt or detained are crazy tho, 72 reported deaths and over 2k others locked up... that's devastating. I'm not sure if it's a good idea to give them "help" though, might make things worse?

Maybe the protests will actually lead to some real change? ๐Ÿคž The guy Reza Pahlavi is saying the regime is more likely to crack down hard because they think Trump and US are gonna stand up for them... but what if that's exactly what makes it happen in the first place? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

can't believe lindsey graham is taking sides on this ๐Ÿคฏ... what's next, him visiting iran and meeting the ayatollah? ๐Ÿ™„ anyway, think it's weird trump says make iran great again but nobody knows what that even means ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ seems like he just wants to stir up trouble... or is there something more to it? ๐Ÿค” don't get me wrong, i feel for the ppl in iran who are protesting, but can't we all just stay out of each other's business? ๐Ÿ™

omg can u believe what senator lindsey graham is saying about iran? like, i'm all for freedom and justice and stuff, but i don't think we should be telling other countries how they should govern themselves ๐Ÿค”...i mean, have we learned nothing from our own history with protests and stuff? ๐Ÿ˜’

and what's with the "make iran great again" thing tho? doesn't that just sound like another version of the same old nationalist nonsense that got us into some pretty bad trouble in the past? ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ i get that trump wants to show support for the protesters, but can't we find a more nuanced way to do it than just spouting some weird slogan or other? ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

anywayz, like, i'm not super sure what's gonna happen in iran next, but i hope whoever is behind all these protests can stay safe and stuff ๐Ÿ’•...and i'm definitely keeping an eye on what the us does next ๐Ÿ‘€
