Man Arrested in Manhattan Rape Case, Charged with Multiple Felonies

A 33-year-old man was taken into custody yesterday by the NYPD's U.S. Marshals New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force, who suspect him of raping and robbing a 14-year-old girl at her Stuyvesant Town apartment building last week.

According to authorities, Germaine Parham approached the minor around 11:40 am on Thursday, allegedly carrying out a heinous act of sexual assault before making off with her cellphone.

Parham's whereabouts were initially unknown but police eventually tracked him down outside the city, bringing him back to Manhattan where he was formally charged with multiple felony counts including rape, robbery, predatory sexual assault, kidnapping, sex abuse, and possession of criminal weapons.

Details about his defense team remain scarce as Parham is currently homeless.

Meanwhile, data from the 13th Precinct reveals a slight increase in reported rapes this year compared to the same period last year, with three cases recorded through February 1. Citywide, however, the number of reported rapes remains largely unchanged when compared to the same timeframe in 2025.

Ugh, can't believe this is still happening in our city... I mean, a 33-year-old dude preying on a 14-year-old girl? That's just sickening. And what really gets me is that he's homeless now, but his defense team doesn't want to talk about it. Like, what are they even worried about? The guy did some seriously bad stuff and deserves justice. It's so frustrating when people like him get off scot-free because they don't have a solid support system.

I'm just glad the cops were able to track him down and bring him to justice (sort of). Still can't help but think about that poor girl who was victims of his heinous act... We need to keep raising awareness about consent and healthy relationships, especially for our younger generation. It's not okay for anyone to do this to someone, regardless of their age or circumstances.

OMG what's goin on with these guys? I mean like a 33-yr-old man think he can just prey on this poor 14 yr old girl and then rob her too . The fact that his defense team is scarce because he's homeless is just another thing, it's like no one cares about him until now. It's like the system failed this girl so bad .

Like what's the point of even reporting these crimes if nothing changes? And why are we just hearing about it now after the fact? Omg what's going on in that city lol 14 years old being assaulted by a grown man is just not right. And now he's charged with multiple felonies which is good news but it's also super sad for that poor girl . I'm glad the police were able to catch him and bring him back to justice, but homeless? That's not fair at all...I mean, we should try to help people get their lives together instead of just throwing them away . Does anyone know how he was living on the streets without getting caught sooner?!

Ugh, another predator out there . Can't believe the guy was homeless and still managed to sneak around for so long. I mean, what kind of system lets someone like this just roam free? I dont think its fair that he's being charged with so many felonies . I mean, the girl was only 14 and he just did something bad to her . I know its wrong what he did but sometimes these cases arent black and white. Maybe he needs some kinda therapy or counseling instead of going to prison?

my heart goes out to that poor 14-year-old girl, she's still shakin' from what happened to her . I mean, can you even imagine bein' in her shoes? Germaine Parham's actions are despicable & he's gonna have to face the consequences . But it's also makin' me think about all these young girls out there who might be goin' through similar experiences or know someone who is . We gotta look out for each other, support those in need & make sure everyone's feelin' safe at home . It's a tough world we live in, but we can't give up hope .

another guy gets caught for raping some poor teenager... like what's wrong with people nowadays? and a homeless defense team? that's just great... it's not like he needs some decent lawyers to get a fair trial or something anyway, the stats are pretty bleak - 3 reported rapes in the same area this year already? that's super concerning hope they can turn this trend around soon
