Marc Guehi: Manchester City emerge as contenders to sign Crystal Palace defender

Manchester City are moving quickly to bolster their defence following a series of injuries to key players. The latest development is the emergence of Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi as a potential target for a January move.

Guehi, 25, has been touted by multiple clubs including Liverpool and Bayern Munich during the summer transfer window, but Palace have made it clear they want him to stay at Selhurst Park until the end of the season. However, with City already on his trail, Guehi's situation is set to become increasingly complicated.

The England international centre-back has won 26 caps for his country and has been a regular starter for Palace since joining from Charlton Athletic in 2018.

City are exploring all avenues to strengthen their defence after suffering injuries to Josko Gvardiol and Ruben Dias, with John Stones currently out injured too. The Blues will wait on the full extent of the Gvardiol and Dias injuries before making a final decision on whether to proceed with signing Guehi during the current transfer window.

Guehi's free agent status at the end of the season adds an extra layer of complexity to City's pursuit, as they must now navigate the rules around signing a player who is out of contract. Meanwhile, Liverpool are still in the running for Guehi's signature and may be prepared to push on with their plans if City decide not to make a move.

With City struggling to cope with their growing injury crisis at the back, the Blues' pursuit of Guehi has taken on an increased sense of urgency. The England international centre-back could prove to be the solution to City's defensive woes and his availability may become increasingly crucial in the coming weeks.

I think Manchester City should just leave Marc Guehi alone, he's happy at Crystal Palace and for what? A quick buck? Not worth it, they're already making a lot of money with Pep Guardiola at the helm 🤑. What's next, they'll be trying to buy everyone in the league 🤯. And let's not forget, Josko Gvardiol is probably just fine 😒, he's got some tough games coming up but I'm sure he'll pull through 💪. City should focus on strengthening their bench instead of splashing out for a last-minute signing 🧘‍♂️.

man... 25 is young for a defender, gotta wonder how many more years he's gonna last in the top tier 🤔💡 i mean, we've seen all these injuries and it's like, what's going on with these clubs? can't even get a decent squad together. anyway, gotta give credit to Guehi, 26 caps for england is no joke 💯 and palace want him to stay till the end of the season, so he might be worth the risk... but what about his future? do clubs really know how to handle these players 🤷‍♂️

omg u guys i cant even think about manc city without a solid defense they need guehi ASAP!! 🤞💪 he's been doing amazing with england and palace is gonna miss him so much if he leaves im rooting for city to get him but liverpool might try to swoop in too lol lets keep fingers crossed that guehi becomes a blues player soon 💕

idk why ppl r sayin guehi is a "savior" 4 manchester city 🤔 he's a solid defender, no doubt, but let's not get ahead of ourselves here. city's defence issues run deeper than just injuries to key players. they need to improve their tactics & team cohesion before making a big signing like guehi 💡

I'm thinking Manchester City are gonna need a strong CB to cover for their injury crisis. 🤕 Guehi looks like a solid choice, but they gotta navigate this free agent thingy... 🤔
Did you know Manchester City's injuries have already cost them 1.5 million pounds? 📊 And that's not counting the wages of injured players! 💸

Here are some injury stats for Manchester City:

* Josko Gvardiol: 15 days out (6 games missed)
* Ruben Dias: 20 days out (9 games missed)
* John Stones: 2-3 weeks out (12-16 games missed)

That's like, a lot of points lost! 😱

Guehi's stats are pretty impressive too:

* 26 caps for England
* 65 appearances in the Premier League
* 5 goals and 1 assist for Palace this season 📈

"In a democracy, you have the right to shout loudly for what you believe in, but silenced is not defeated." 🗣️💪 This situation with Manchester City and Marc Guehi seems like a battle of wills – who wins out? Will City's growing injury crisis be solved by Guehi's arrival, or will another club swoop in to snatch him away? The clock is ticking...
