I'm keeping an eye on this documentary project, sounds interesting 🎥. It's great to see a group of filmmakers like Truth & Documentary taking on the topic of immigration in Chicago, especially during a time when there's been a lot of tension around ICE operations. The fact that they're incorporating interviews, personal footage, and social media videos into the doc should give viewers a really intimate look at what it's like to be an immigrant in the city.

I think it's also cool that they're involving students and recent grads in the project - that can't hurt in terms of bringing fresh perspectives to the table. And by showing the documentary in the Edge Theater, they'll likely get a lot of feedback from people who are affected by these issues firsthand.

It's all about raising awareness and sparking conversations, right? 🤝 I'm curious to see how this project turns out and what kind of impact it could have on the community.

I was just thinking about the best pizza toppings 🍕, you know? I had this amazing Hawaiian pizza at that new place downtown and it was so good! 🤩 But anyway, back to Chicago... have you ever noticed how beautiful the architecture is there? I mean, I've been to New York City a few times, but there's just something about the way the buildings are designed in Chicago that's so unique. And the food scene is incredible too! I'm thinking of trying out this new spot in Wicker Park soon...

😒 This is so sad 🤕... I mean, who needs more drama in their lives? 🤯 ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) occupying Chicago? It's like they're taking away the city's soul 😢. I can only imagine how scary it must be for those seeking asylum or residence... just to know they're being watched and judged by these agents all the time 👀.

And the fact that a documentary is trying to capture their experiences? 🎥 That's amazing, I guess. It's like someone finally cares about what's going on in their lives 😊. But, ugh, can't we just have a world where everyone is accepted and loved without fear of deportation or persecution? ❤️ Please, let's hope that "Shouldering Sanctuary" raises awareness and sparks change soon 🤞

I feel so sad for those people who are going through this tough time in Chicago 🤕. It's not fair that they're being targeted and treated like they're invisible. The fact that there are people working hard to help them, like the pasantes universitarios who are volunteering their time, is truly inspiring 💖. I hope the documental "Shouldering Sanctuary" can raise awareness about what's happening in Chicago and bring some much-needed attention to this issue 📰. It's so important that we listen to the stories of these people and understand their struggles ❤️. Can't wait for the documentary to be released!

🤝 so, i think this documentary is gonna be super helpful in showing people what's really going on with the immigration situation in chicago. like, we need more stories about the ppl who are actually living it, not just headlines and news reports 📰. and i love that they're incorporating social media vids and personal art to make it feel more relatable and human 📸💻. hope it gets shown before it's released, can't wait to see how people react 😊

Just watched the news about this documentary and I gotta say, it's really inspiring to see people coming together to help those seeking asylum in Chicago 🤝. I mean, can you imagine being in their shoes and having to navigate such a complex system? It's crazy how the Trump administration has been cracking down on immigration, but at least there are folks like Ben Kolak and his team working tirelessly to shed light on this issue 🎥.

I think it's amazing that they're including interviews, personal cameras footage, and social media videos to capture the experiences of both immigrants and those helping them. And featuring artwork by Cliff Questel will add a whole new layer to the documentary 🌈. I'm really looking forward to seeing how this turns out and hoping it becomes an educational tool for the community 💡.

It's also super cool that they're planning to show the doc before completion just to get feedback from the public 📽️. That's what community-driven projects are all about – collaboration, empathy, and spreading awareness 🌈

📰👀 just saw this news about the docu on chicago & i gotta say its kinda wild that there's this new film "Shouldering Sanctuary" tryin to capture the experience of people lookin for asylum or residency in chicago under iceOccupation 🤯 i mean, its cool that theres a team like truth & documentary lead by ben kolak workin on it w/ students & community members gettin involved 📚👥 hope its film does make a difference in how ppl think about immigration & sanctuary

ummm, I was just thinking about what to make for dinner 🍴, and then I saw this news about the documental about people seeking asylum in Chicago... I guess it's kinda cool that they're using cameras from phones and stuff to capture the experience of migrants 📱. I wonder if they'll be showing the whole process of applying for asylum or just the emotional part? My aunt went through something like that with her family, but I don't think she wants to talk about it... anyway, it sounds like a good idea to show people what's going on in Chicago right now 🤔.

🤔 I'm not sure what's going on with the immigration situation in Chicago right now. It seems like there's been some kind of operation by ICE (I think that stands for Immigration and Customs Enforcement?) and people are trying to find asylum or residency in the city. 🌃 A documentary crew is following around, talking to immigrants and people who are helping them, and it all looks pretty intense.

It sounds like they're using a mix of interviews, camera footage, and social media videos to capture the experience. They even have some artists on board to create illustrations to go along with the film. 🎨 I'm curious to see how it all comes together. The director seems to think that documentary films can be really powerful tools for education and sparking change... 💡 Maybe this one will be a good example of that?

I don’t usually comment but I think it’s really interesting that they’re making this documentary about the experience of people seeking asylum or residency in Chicago under ICE occupation 🤔. It's like, we're always talking about how divided we are as a country, but what about when you're actually in the midst of it? 😕 I mean, who gets to decide what's "sanctuary" for these people anyway? 🤷‍♀️ It's gotta be a wild ride filming with pasantes universitarios and recién graduados, though. They must be learning so much about social justice and activism on the job 📚💼

📹 This doc is gonna be really interesting to watch... I think it's dope that they're using a mix of interviews, camcorder footage and social media videos to capture the experience of the migrants in Chicago. It'll be awesome to see how it all comes together! 🎥 The fact that they've got some students and recent grads on board is cool too - it's like they're learning and growing with the project. Can't wait to see what they come up with, especially since they're planning a sneak peek before it's even finished... 🤔
