NYT Pips Today: Hints, Answers And Walkthrough For Monday, January 26

This Monday, it's back to the office, and you're probably itching to get some work done after a relaxing weekend. For game enthusiasts like yourself, though, the weekend was already a brief respite from the world of Pips puzzles.

Pips is a fun and challenging puzzle game where players must use dominoes to fill in a grid based on various conditions such as "equals," "does not equal," greater than," less than," or an exact number. It's easy, fun, and provides hours of mental stimulation. Each day's Pips puzzle comes with different levels of difficulty, including Easy, Medium, and Difficult.

A typical Pips grid consists of a multicolored grid where each colored area represents a specific condition that players must meet when using their dominoes to fill in the grid. The conditions can be quite complex, making it both a fun and frustrating experience for those who enjoy this game.

In an earlier edition of Today's Pips on Sunday, we solved two examples: Easy and Medium. Today, let's focus on the Hard version. It features three different spindles with a central "does not equal" group and only one 6 available for use across both the "greater than" and "less than" groups.

To tackle this challenging puzzle, players must first start at the bottom right corner of the grid. Utilize numbers close to the greater or lesser signs when placing dominoes to solve conditions efficiently. Use rules such as double spindles often bordering with "does not equal" groups to make your work easier.

One strategy for solving this Hard Pips puzzle is to place the 1/0 domino from Orange and 2 into Pink 4, followed by placing the 4/6 domino from Pink 4 into Green 9. Then proceed to put the 3/3 domino from Green 9 into Orange ≠ (using the rule of doubles often bordering with "does not equal" groups).

For another step, place the 1/4 domino from Blue and 3 into Purple 9, followed by placing the 5/4 domino from Purple 9 into Dark Blue 6. Then put the 2/2 domino from Dark Blue 6 into Orange ≠.

Finally, solve the last part of the puzzle by placing the 6/6 domino from Purple >4 into Pink = and the 6/1 domino from Pink = into Blue 5, finishing off with the 4/4 domino from Blue 5 into Orange ≠. This completes a Hard Pips puzzle.

I was thinking about how addictive Pips puzzles can be 🤯... I mean, who needs work when you're on a roll like that? 😂 But seriously, I think it's awesome that there are different levels of difficulty to keep things interesting. I'm not as good at them as some of the experts out there, but I love trying to figure out new strategies 🤔. The tips about using double spindles and starting from the bottom right corner of the grid were super helpful - thanks for sharing! 👍

aww that sounds so stressful 🤯 i mean, who wouldn't wanna just chill after the weekend? instead of trying to solve some tricky puzzle game 🧩💻 but at the same time, i guess it's kinda cool that there are people out there who enjoy that sorta thing 😊 and it's always good for our brains to get challenged every now and then 👍

omg u guys just when i thought i needed a break from work lol... but like for real tho, pips is super fun and mentally stimulating 🤯! i love how it challenges ur brain with those complex conditions 😅. personally, i find it really satisfying to figure out the different strategies and rules 🔍. and btw, that hard puzzle looks crazy tough 😂! but i love the step-by-step guide tho, it's like a little puzzle within a puzzle 🤯. anywayz, just wanna say that pips is def one of those games that never gets old 👍.

Ugh, I'm so over the new update on Pips 🤯💔. The 'Hard' version is just too complicated for its own good! It's like they're trying to troll players with their fancy rules and conditions. Who thought it was a good idea to add more complexity when we're already struggling to solve Easy ones? 😩 And don't even get me started on the grid layout - it's so cramped and hard to visualize 🤪. I mean, can't they just simplify things for once? 👎

I'm gonna say it... I think Pips puzzles are way too easy for most people. Like, come on, it's just dominoes and some basic logic. Anyone can figure out how to use a few numbers and shapes to solve a puzzle 🤷‍♂️. And don't even get me started on the "rules" section - it sounds like a whole lot of mumbo-jumbo 🙄. I mean, where's the challenge in that? Give me something with some real complexity and depth, you know? Maybe something like a real-life puzzle or brain teaser... then we're talking 💡.

omg i'm literally so stoked for this new hard pips challenge 🤩 i mean i love how they came up with those complex rules like "does not equal" and stuff it's like my brain is always racing trying to figure out which dominoes go where lol 💡 i tried that strategy where u place the 1/0 domino from orange and the 2 into pink 4, followed by placing the 4/6 domino from pink 4 into green 9 and it was so satisfying when everything just fit together perfectly 🎉 can't wait to share my next solution in the comments 👇

I just tried that Pips puzzle thingy 🤔👀 it's actually kinda fun 🎉 but also super frustrating 😩 I mean, who thought it was a good idea to have so many numbers and signs all mixed up? 🤯 my brain hurts after staring at it for 20 minutes 🕰️ still trying to figure out how to get the last piece in place 😅

Wow 😎 just reading that the new Pips puzzle is soooo hard, I'm like what is the strategy?? 🤯 how do they come up with these things? 🤔 Interesting that they use numbers close to the greater or lesser signs when placing dominoes, sounds super smart 💡

Ugh, back to reality already 😒... I mean, I guess it's good that we can finally get some work done after a weekend of saving the world (just kidding, who does that? 🙄). But seriously, have you tried Pips yet? It's actually pretty fun and challenging, but not so easy that it puts me to sleep 💤. The hard version is like a marathon, though - I mean, who thought putting 3 different spinles with "does not equal" groups was a good idea? 🤯 At least the 6 is available for use, right? 😅

Ugh, another addictive game 🤯 that's just going to keep me up at night thinking about it... like, what's wrong with a good old-fashioned book or something? And don't even get me started on all those dominoes ⚽️ - I mean, can't we just use our brains in a more efficient way? And the rules of this game are so convoluted 🤪, it's like they're trying to drive us crazy! The fact that there's an entire strategy for solving one puzzle is just wild 🌪️. I'm not saying I don't enjoy a challenge, but come on... can't we just have a fun, relaxing hobby without all the stress and complexity? 😬

🤔 I love how Pips puzzles challenge my brain for fun! I'm not always good at them but it's like a little escape from work 😊. One thing that's been bugging me is how some people can solve these super hard ones so quickly - do they have special powers? 😉

I've started to notice that sometimes the puzzle isn't as hard as it seems... you know, after staring at it for a bit and thinking creatively 🤓. My youngest loves playing Pips with us on weekends, it's our special bonding time 😊. She still struggles but she's getting better! 💪

I'm so stoked they posted another Pips puzzle 🤩! I love how challenging it is, but also super rewarding when you finally figure it out 😊. The strategy you shared for this Hard version makes total sense to me, using those double spindles on the "does not equal" groups really helps a lot 💡. One thing that's bugging me though, are there any online communities or forums where we can share our own solutions and see how others tackle these puzzles? That would be so cool 🤔.

I'm glad u got back to work after a chill weekend 😊, but i feel u on how frustrating it can be to tackle those Pips puzzles 🤯, especially when they get really hard 🔥! It's like ur brain is racing trying to figure out all the rules and conditions 🧠. But at the same time, it's so satisfying when u finally solve it and see the whole grid come together 😌. Don't worry if u didn't complete this one right away, just take a deep breath and keep tryin' 💪. Maybe next time u'll be able to conquer that Hard Pips puzzle 🏆! 👍

man i'm so over pips puzzles 🤯 they're just too much for me sometimes, like i get it's fun and all but ugh trying to keep track of which domino goes where is literally the most frustrating thing ever 😩 don't even get me started on those "does not equal" groups 🙄 but at the same time, i gotta respect how challenging they are, especially the hard version 🤯 it's like, wow you're actually trying to solve a real puzzle here 👏

OMG, I'm so over these Pips puzzles 🤯... like, can't they just make it easy for once? I mean, who needs that much pressure? But seriously, I gotta respect how clever those solvers are 💡. That last step was CRAZY complicated 🤦‍♂️. I'd rather stick to Fortnite than Pips any day 😂.

I'm so stoked that the weekend is over already 🤯 I was literally waiting for Monday to roll around just so I could dive back into Pips puzzles. I mean, have you guys tried this Hard version? It's like, woah! The conditions are so complex and it really makes you think outside the box (or in this case, the grid 😂). I love how they've designed the puzzle to require a strategic approach - it's not just about throwing dominoes at the screen.
