Out of sight: spectacular HS2 tunnels offer glimmer of hope for stalling project

Ugh, this is just another example of how everything always goes wrong in the end 🤦‍♂️. First, they're like "oh, let's build this fancy tunnel" and then suddenly it's "wait, we need more money" 💸. And now they're trying to redo the whole thing with a new plan? Like, what even is the point of that? 😒 They can't even agree on how to make this work, just a bunch of bureaucratic red tape 🗑️. And don't even get me started on the cost - £80bn? Are you kidding me?! 💸 I swear, every time something "progresses" in this country it's always at the expense of our already overtaxed wallets 😩.

I think it's awesome that we're seeing progress on the HS2 project 🤩! I mean, those tunnels under the Chiltern hills? Mind-blowing! It just goes to show that with careful planning and execution (and a bit of elbow grease), even pipe dreams can become reality 😅. The fact that they had to test tiny trains on elastic bands to figure out how to deal with sonic booms is just genius 🤓. And I love that the new plan aims to get the construction programme back on track - fingers crossed it works out! 💪

The HS2 project is such an interesting topic 🤔... I mean, you've got these massive 10-mile tunnels built beneath this gorgeous countryside, and it's crazy to think about how they're going to integrate with trains running through them 💨. I'm not sure what the deal is with the delays and cost overruns, but it's like, come on, Brits! You guys are super good at engineering 🙌... can't you just get it done without all the drama? 😩

And omg, have you seen those ventilation shafts? They're designed to stop the sonic boom thingy from happening when trains go by, and I'm like, how clever is that?! 💡. Lab testing involved shooting miniature trains on elastic bands through tubes... what even is that?! 🎯

I do hope they get this project back on track (no pun intended) with a new plan led by Mark Wild... fingers crossed! 😅

I gotta say, I'm stoked to see these 10-mile tunnels finally coming together! The Colne Valley viaduct is straight fire 🔥, I mean who wouldn't want to build something like that? And the fact that they used a concrete production plant on site to make all those tunnel segments? Genius 💡. But yeah, £80bn is still a pretty penny 💸...and what's with all these delays and revamps? 🤯 Can't we just get it done already?! 😩 Still, I guess when you're building something as epic as HS2, you've gotta be willing to put in the work. Fingers crossed that this new plan from Wild gets us back on track ⏱️!
