Some Epstein survivors' identities appear unredacted in files released by DOJ

New Epstein Files Release Exposes Survivors' Lives as Government's "Slap in the Face"

The US Department of Justice (DOJ) has released over 3.5 million pages, 2,000 videos, and 180,000 images related to the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. While the goal was supposed to be exposing men in power who took advantage of young girls, it appears that many survivors' identities have been left exposed, causing them "upside down" lives.

According to lawyers representing some 300 Epstein survivors, including Danielle Bensky, a teenage ballerina when she said Epstein abused her two decades ago, the DOJ did not adequately redact their personal information from the documents. In fact, at least one woman who had not previously come forward with abuse allegations was identified.

Bensky believes that this was not an accident but rather carelessness and incompetence, which now feels like a deliberate attack on survivors. She hopes that the release of all these files will lead to investigations into those associated with Epstein.

Lawyers representing the survivors filed a request for immediate judicial intervention with Judges Richard M. Berman and Paul A. Engelmayer, demanding an "immediate takedown of the DOJ website hosting Epstein materials" and the appointment of a special master to oversee redaction and republication.

The DOJ has claimed that it is removing documents that inadvertently produced victim-identifying information, but for some survivors, this may be too late. Those who have come forward with abuse allegations are now facing harassment from the media and others, while others have received death threats and disgusting messages.

Jane Doe 5, one of the accusers, wrote that she had never come forward before being harassed by the media and others after her name was exposed in the documents. She is now trying to shut down cards and accounts due to private banking information being released.

Ugh, this is just great ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ. I mean, what did they expect? That releasing all these files would magically erase every survivor's identity and trauma? No way, dude... it's always gonna be a slippery slope when you're playing with fire like that ๐Ÿ”ฅ. And to think they were supposed to be helping survivors, not putting their lives in shambles again ๐Ÿค•. I'm low-key expecting more harassment and backlash from the public now... just great, just what we need ๐Ÿ‘Ž.

OMG ๐Ÿคฏ this is soooo not good ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™€๏ธ! I'm literally shaking my head thinking about all these survivors' lives being "upside down" because of the government's carelessness ๐Ÿ’”. Like, what was going on over there? ๐Ÿ˜’ It's not like they didn't know better! And now they're freaking out and getting death threats ๐Ÿšซ and harassment from the media... it's just too much ๐Ÿคฏ.

I feel so bad for these women who are already dealing with trauma and abuse. They shouldn't have to go through this again, especially because of someone else's incompetence ๐Ÿ˜’. I hope that the DOJ takes responsibility for this and does something to fix it ASAP ๐Ÿšจ. We need some justice here โš–๏ธ! And can we please get a special master to oversee the redaction process? That would be a huge step in the right direction ๐Ÿคž

omg this is so frustrating ๐Ÿคฏ the us government needs to step up its game when it comes to protecting survivors of sexual abuse... releasing 3.5 million pages of documents without properly redacting their info was a huge mistake ๐Ÿ’” i mean can't they see that now? it's like they're just handing out a punchline to predators who already took advantage of so many young people ๐Ÿค• and yeah, it's not an accident, it's clear that this was some kind of carelessness or incompetence... the fact that at least one woman who never came forward before is now being harassed by media and others because her info got exposed is just heartbreaking ๐Ÿ’” these survivors need our support and protection right now ๐Ÿค—

I'M SO SAD FOR THESE SURVIVORS!!! IT'S LIKE THEY WERE VICTIMS ALL OVER AGAIN!!! ๐Ÿค• THE FACT THAT THEIR IDENTITY IS OUT THERE IN PUBLIC DOCUMENTS IS JUST INSANE!!! HOW COULD THE DOJ NOT BE MORE CAREFUL WHEN RELEASED THOSE FILES?! IT LOOKS LIKE A BIG MESS! ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ I FEEL BAD FOR JANE DOE 5 TOO, SHE MUST BE GOING THROUGH ANGRY TIMES RIGHT NOW... ๐Ÿ˜ฉ

omg can you believe this? like i know we just talked about my cat's birthday party ๐ŸŽ‚ but have you ever tried to do a secure search online? it's like trying to find a needle in a haystack... or in this case, victims of abuse. anyway, back to epstein... what's up with the government's handling of all these documents? i mean, can't they just do some basic redacting like everyone else?

i was at the park yesterday and saw a street performer doing this amazing juggling act ๐Ÿคนโ€โ™‚๏ธ and it got me thinking about how much we need more balance in life. too much focus on one thing (like epstein's files) and not enough attention to the bigger picture... or something like that.

anyway, back to epstein... survivors' lives are literally being torn apart over this. it's just so sad and frustrating at the same time ๐Ÿ˜”. can we please just take a step back and focus on supporting these women instead of criticizing each other? ๐Ÿค—

omg ๐Ÿ˜ฑ just saw those epstein files release & i'm SHOOK ๐Ÿคฏ my mind is blown - who thought it was a good idea to leave out all that survivor info?! ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ it's like the gov't didn't even try to redact everything... ๐Ÿšซ now those poor survivors are facing harassment & death threats after their names got outed ๐Ÿ˜จ

i feel so bad for danielle bensky, a teenager when epstein abused her 20 yrs ago... ๐Ÿค• and now she's gotta deal with all this drama on top of trying to process what happened to her... ๐Ÿ’” i hope those associated with epstein start getting investigated ๐Ÿ•ต๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธ

๐Ÿšจ my heart goes out to all these survivors, they're already going through so much trauma and now this... the gov't releasing 3.5 million pages of info without even trying to properly redact their names, it's just not right ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ. I mean, what were they thinking? It's like they wanted to make things harder for these women who are already fighting for justice. ๐Ÿ’” we need to make sure that the gov't is taking responsibility for this and doing better next time around ๐Ÿ‘ฎ.
