I'm still trying to wrap my head around this whole situation
. Like, I get why the US wants to invest in Venezuela and tap into those oil reserves, it's a huge deal for the economy and all that
. But at the same time, I have major concerns about the safety of the oil executives and workers in Venezuela
. I mean, we just saw the US seize like 5 tankers over the past month - what does that tell us about the stability of the situation there?
And yeah, Trump's all about keeping energy prices low, but is that really just a matter of economics or is it more about him getting his hands on Venezuela's oil money
. I'm also worried about those human rights abuses in Venezuela - I don't think anyone wants to deal with the fallout from "violent imperialism"
.
It'll be interesting to see how this all plays out, especially if there's gonna be diplomatic relations between the US and Venezuela again
. One thing's for sure, it's not a straightforward issue and we need to keep an eye on things
.
