Trump ramps up Greenland threats and says US will intervene 'whether they like it or not'

US President Donald Trump has further escalated tensions over Greenland by declaring that the US will intervene in the territory regardless of whether it is welcomed or not. Speaking at a meeting with oil and gas executives, Trump made the statement, claiming that if he doesn't act on his ambitions for Greenland, Russia or China would likely take control of the island.

Trump's comments come as relations between the US and its NATO allies are strained over the administration's attempts to exert control over the autonomous Arctic territory. Denmark, which is Greenland's largest backer, has strongly rejected Trump's efforts, with Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen warning that an attack on the territory would undermine not just NATO but post-World War II security.

Trump, however, insists he supports NATO and has claimed it wouldn't exist if he didn't play a role in its creation. Despite this assertion, his administration's actions have been widely criticized by allies and opponents alike.

This is not the first time Trump has expressed interest in acquiring Greenland, which was first floated during his 2019 re-election campaign. The proposal met swift opposition from Danish and Greenlandic leaders, but Trump revived it recently as a national security imperative.

The idea of US control over Greenland is deeply unpopular among the local population, with 85% expressing their refusal to be part of the US according to a recent poll. A similar lack of support can be seen in public opinion within the United States, where only 7% have expressed support for a military invasion of the territory.

Trump's aggressive rhetoric also spilled over into other international issues on Friday, as he warned that if Iran's government moves to violently suppress protesters, the US would take decisive action. Describing Iran as "in big trouble", Trump stated, "If they start killing people like they have in the past, we will get involved... And again, I tell the Iranian leaders: 'You'd better not start shooting, because we'll start shooting too.'"

🀯 This guy is out of control. Like seriously, can't he just chill? Greenland's got its own people and its own government, what does it have to do with the US? And now Trump's gonna send in the troops like a cowboy in a saloon fight? πŸ˜‚ No thanks!

And don't even get me started on Iran. Who is this guy kidding? Threaten them and then say you'll intervene if they start shooting? Give me a break! It sounds like he's just looking for an excuse to bomb some more innocent civilians. I'm so done with this administration πŸ™„.

πŸ€” This whole thing with Greenland is getting out of hand. Like, come on Donald Trump, you're making it sound like the US needs to swoop in and save the day over there. Newsflash: 85% of the people living there don't want that. It's not even close to being a neutral stance.

And what's with this "if we don't act, Russia or China will take control" thing? That's just plain paranoia. Denmark's got Greenland's back and it's been a good neighbor for centuries. Why can't the US just respect that?

It's also weird that Trump is talking about NATO like he's some kind of founding father or something. I mean, we get it, you're proud of what you've accomplished in politics. But come on, admit when you're not playing by the rules.

This whole thing is just a big mess and it's gonna end badly. 🚨

man this guy trump is driving everyone crazy 🀯 his rhetoric is getting out of control and it's only gonna lead to more problems trust me i've been following this story and the fact that 85% of people in greenland dont wanna be part of us is a major red flag but what really gets me is how he's painting russia and china as villains like they're the bad guys when we all know that's not how it works we gotta work together to solve our problems not point fingers at each other πŸ’‘

🀯 Trump's Greenland plans are super concerning 🌎. Like, who does he think he is? The US has been all like "we're friends with Denmark" and now Trump is all "nope, I'm taking it by force"? πŸ˜’ That 85% of the local population wanting no part in it should be a major red flag 🚨. And on top of that, NATO's already having issues... this is just getting out of hand 🀯. How do we know he's not gonna use Greenland as some sort of military outpost? The thought of US troops all over the place is giving me anxiety 😬. Can't Trump just chill with the international drama for once? 😩

😳 This is getting crazy, you guys. US President Trump is basically saying he's gonna go to war over Greenland 🌎 no matter what. 85% of the people there don't want the US in control and yet he's all like "I'm a NATO ally" πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ. It's so out of touch with reality, especially when 7% of Americans actually support invading the island 🀯. And can we talk about how tone-deaf this is? He's basically threatening to take over a country unless Russia or China does it first, while also warning Iran that if they suppress protesters, the US will get involved πŸ’£. Like what even is his strategy here? It's all just a big mess πŸ€ͺ and I'm low-key worried about where this could lead 😬

omg, trump's gotta be kidding me πŸ€―πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ! declaring US intervention in Greenland without so much as a by-your-leave is just plain reckless πŸ’₯. what's next, us taking control of canada or somethin' πŸ˜‚? newsflash, trump: the people of greenland aren't exactly clamoring for american help πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ. and btw, 85% say no thanks to a military invasion? that's like, almost everyone 🀯! i just don't get why trumps so obsessed with this territory anyway... is it just some big ego trip or what? πŸ€” #GreenlandDeservesBetter #USInterventionIsNotTheAnswer

Ugh, this guy is like, totally out of control 🀯! He's just going to go around making threats and stirring up trouble without even thinking about how it's gonna affect everyone else. I mean, come on, Greenland? Really? It's not even like there's some super valuable resource or something hiding under the ice or whatever. Just 'cause Russia or China might be interested in taking over doesn't mean we gotta swoop in and take control ourselves 🚫.

And have you seen that poll from Greenland where 85% of people don't want to be part of the US? Like, what does Trump even think he's gonna do there? Just impose his will or something? Newsflash: it's not your land anymore, dude. Respect the locals and their autonomy, man. It's like, basic human decency πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ.

And by the way, what's with all these "decisive actions" he keeps talking about? Is that just some fancy way of saying "we're gonna bomb someone"? I don't think so 😑. Trump needs to get a grip and stop acting like a dictator for real πŸ™„.

OMG IT SOUNDS LIKE TRUMP IS GETTING MORE AND MORE Aggressive By The Day 🀯 HIS Comments About Greenland Are SUPER Concerning I Mean Who Does He Think He Is Trying To Take Over This Country Without Even Asking First? πŸ€” And Now He's Talking About Iran Too Which Is Getting Really Serious Fast 😬 I Just Want All World Leaders To Get Along And Work Together Instead Of Threatening Each Other With Violence πŸ’₯

πŸ™„ I gotta say, this whole thing with Greenland and Iran is getting outta hand. Like, Trump's been saying they're gonna intervene in Greenland no matter what? That's just crazy talk 🀯. The US doesn't have a single reason to be interested in Greenland besides possibly exploiting its resources. And let's be real, the locals are all about keeping it independent, not joining some American territory 🌎. 85% of them don't wanna be part of the US? That's a pretty big no-no if you ask me πŸ˜‚.

And then there's this Iran situation... yeah, Trump's all tough talk again πŸ—£οΈ. But seriously, isn't it about time he stopped playing the strong guy and started talking sense? "We'll get involved" is just code for "we're gonna bomb 'em" πŸ’₯. And what's with the Iran bashing? Can't we all just have a peaceful conversation without resorting to threats? πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

πŸ€” I'm worried about this whole Greenland thing. Trump's been making these threats for years now and it seems like no one's listening. 85% of the people in Greenland don't want the US to take control over their land and you'd think that's a pretty clear "no". But I guess when you're used to getting what you want, sometimes you just keep on pushing. 🚫 It's not like this is going to end well for anyone involved. The local population will be caught in the middle and it'll probably lead to some major international conflict. We need to think about the long-term effects of Trump's actions here... not just what he wants in the short term πŸ’”

You know what's crazy? Like, I was at this food truck festival over the weekend and they had these insane ice cream flavors... like, have you ever tried matcha-green tea with strawberry basil?! 🀯 It was SO good! Anyway, back to Greenland... I mean, can you even imagine living in a place where it's always cold? Like, what even is the point of having a summer there? πŸ˜‚ Just saying. And don't even get me started on those ice cream flavors... I'm seriously considering opening up my own food truck one day! πŸ¦πŸ’š

πŸ€” The US President's comments on Greenland are super concerning. I think he's getting a bit carried away with his ambitions for national security. Newsflash: just because Russia or China might try to take control of the island doesn't mean the US has to intervene. In fact, that would be pretty reckless.

I mean, have you seen those numbers from the recent poll? 85% of Greenlanders don't want the US controlling their territory. And on top of that, only 7% in the US are supporting a military invasion - it's like, hello, majority no to that! πŸ™…β€β™‚οΈ

And what about NATO? Trump's trying to play both sides here, saying he supports the alliance while also wanting to exert control over Greenland. That just doesn't add up.

I think we need to take a step back and have a real conversation about national security without resorting to aggressive rhetoric. The US has bigger fish to fry than trying to own every piece of land on the planet 🐟

πŸ€” US President Donald Trump's move on Greenland is getting me all shook up. Like, what's really going on here? Denmark and Greenland are already saying no to any US involvement, but Trump just won't listen πŸ™„. He thinks the island will just magically fall into his hands if he doesn't act? πŸ˜‚ Newsflash, Donald: Greenland has its own people, their own government – they don't need some American billionaire playing puppet master over there. And what about all those NATO allies who are supposed to be part of this security thingy? Trump's actions are basically undermining the whole alliance 🀝. Can't we just get along and let everyone make their own decisions without someone trying to strong-arm them?

Trump's comments on Greenland are super worrying 🚨. Like, come on, man! He's always talking about this national security stuff, but at the end of the day, he's basically saying that he wants to just take over an island without asking anyone else for permission 🀯. And what really takes the cake is that 85% of the local population doesn't even want that πŸ˜‚.

And can we talk about how this plays into his whole NATO thing? He claims to support it, but then his actions are super contradictory βͺ. It's like he wants to play hard to get, but also totally take control πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ.

I mean, I get that Greenland is a strategic location and all that, but let's not forget that this is a sovereign nation with its own people who have their own opinions πŸ—³οΈ. We should be supporting their autonomy, not trying to exert control over them πŸ’ͺ.

And what about Iran? Like, Trump is basically threatening war if they don't calm down 😬. That's super concerning, especially when you consider that Iran has every right to protest and express themselves peacefully πŸ‘Š.

I think we need some more nuanced thinking on this stuff πŸ€”. We can't just be all about "America First" and ignore the perspectives of others πŸ’.

Trump's Greenland plans are like my aunt's gossip - it just won't shut up! 🀣 First he tries to sell it in 2019, then he revives it, and now he's making a big show of it. Newsflash Donald: Greenland isn't like a pair of pants that you can just put on or take off whenever you want. It's a country with its own government and people, dude! πŸ™„ 85% of the population doesn't want to be part of the US? That's like saying 85% of my friends don't want me to have another slice of pizza. Not gonna happen, Trump! πŸ˜‚

πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ Can't believe the drama that's going on. So, Trump thinks he can just bully Denmark into giving up Greenland and then magically fix NATO? Like, no thanks. That's just great diplomacy πŸ™„. And now he's talking about invading a small island with 85% of the population against it? That's just... 🀯 ...bold move, dude. I mean, who needs allies when you've got bravado and a bad comb-over πŸ˜‚. Seriously though, can't we all just get along and not have to resort to brinksmanship over some disputed territory? πŸ’β€β™‚οΈ

omg what's up with trump and his military invasions 🀯 i mean, can't he just chill for a second? like, i get that he's got some concerns about security and all but does it have to be so aggressive πŸ™„ has anyone considered the fact that greenland is already an autonomous territory and shouldn't trump just let it make its own decisions? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ btw did you know that the best pizza toppings are pineapple and ham πŸ•πŸ–
