still catching up 🤦‍♂️... so i heard about this episode on the intercept briefing where they talk about trump's impact on democracy? honestly, it feels like we're all just watching a train wreck that we don't wanna look away from 🚂😱. as someone who's not super into politics, it kinda hits me how much our freedom of speech and press are being tested right now. what's crazy is how misinformation can spread so fast and affect people's perception of reality. we need more fact-checking and critical thinking, imo 💡📰

🤝 I'm totally worried about what's happening with our democratic system right now 🙅‍♂️. It feels like we're living in a real-life thriller movie where the villain is manipulating facts and truth to get away with stuff 😱. Adam Goodman hit the nail on the head when he said that journalists and activists need to keep pushing for change, but it's not just about them, it's also about us as citizens needing to stay informed and critically think about what we consume online 📊💡

I'm kinda worried about the state of journalism and free speech in the US right now 🤔💬 It feels like we're living in a bubble where everyone's just trying to survive. I mean, Adam Goodman makes some valid points that we need to keep pushing for change, but at the same time, it's hard not to feel like we're just spinning our wheels. I'm worried that people are getting more and more disenchanted with the whole system. The truth is, there's no easy solution here – it's all about having the courage to challenge the status quo and call out bad behavior. 🗣️ But for those of us who care, it's worth trying, right?

idk how we're supposed to defend democracy against ppl who don't even believe it exists 😒🤔 like what's next? us just gonna sit back and let them dismantle the system from within? 🤦‍♂️ gotta keep pushing for change, even if it feels like a losing battle 💪

🤯 just think about it, 70% of Americans believe that trust in government institutions has declined over the past decade 😕. And it's not just the US, globally 62% of people say they're skeptical of news sources 📰. this is what Adam Goodman was talking about - the erosion of trust 🤯. and yeah, it's not like trump's actions are out of the ordinary... 45% of americans believe that fake news is a major threat to democracy 📺. btw did you know that in 2020, the number of journalists killed while covering the news was 48 📰👊

I'm getting super anxious about the state of democracy in the US 🤯. I mean, Trump's been trying to erode truth and press freedom for years, but it's only now that we're seeing the real effects. It's like he's creating this toxic culture where people think it's okay to just believe whatever they want without questioning it 💀. And it's not just Trump, it's a broader societal issue - we've lost trust in institutions and we're all just fed misinformation 🤖. But Adam was right, we need sustained pressure from activists and advocates to push for real change 🔄. I think that's where we come in, as consumers of info, as citizens... we have the power to create a movement 💪.

man this briefing was really eye-opening 🤯 i mean we all knew trump was trying to mess with democracy but it's crazy to think about how far he went and that the media has been going through so much 💔 the thing is though i don't wanna just sit around and be like "oh woe is us" 😩 because if we want real change then we gotta make some noise too 🗣️ we need more people speaking out and pushing for actual reform 💪 not just criticizing or complaining about it

I'm really concerned about the state of democracy right now 🤯. It's like we're living in a scene from some sci-fi movie where governments are basically run by a single person who doesn't care about truth or facts anymore. I mean, what happened to checks and balances? It feels like we've lost all sense of accountability and transparency.

The Intercept Briefing podcast did such a great job highlighting this issue, though 🙌. Adam Goodman's point about the erosion of trust in institutions is so true - it's not just Trump's personal brand of crazy that's the problem, but the fact that our society as a whole has become pretty apathetic to issues like media literacy and critical thinking.

We need more voices pushing for change 💪, and I think The Intercept Briefing is doing some amazing work in this area. If you're listening, please do support them financially 🙏 - every little bit counts!

omg I'm so hyped about this podcast!!! 🤯🎧 Adam Goodman said something that really stuck with me - like, Trump's actions might be extreme but they're also super reflective of where our society is at right now 🤷‍♀️. We need to acknowledge the problem and start talking about it instead of just complaining 😒. I've been following this stuff for a while and I'm so sick of people saying that journalists are the ones who's 'attacking' truth 🙄, we're just trying to report on what's happening! 💡

🤔 I think it's wild how one person can have so much influence over the direction of a country 🌎. It's like, we need to be careful about who's holding power, you know? 🙏 Trump's actions may seem extreme, but they're also kinda a symptom of bigger problems - people losing faith in institutions and all that 🤦‍♂️. Anyway, I think it's up to us, as citizens, to keep pushing for change and holding those in power accountable 💪.

I mean, I don't know... 🤔
Democracy's in a mess right now, no question, but do we really need some big-name journalist telling us that? Can't just, like, look at what's happening and figure it out for ourselves?
And another thing, is The Intercept doing more harm than good? I mean, they're trying to push back against Trump's authoritarianism, which is totally justified... but at the same time, aren't they, you know, part of the system too?
I've been listening to their podcast and it's like, really well done, but also... isn't that just a bunch of smart people talking? Are we really going to change anything by having all these experts weigh in on our problems?
And what about activism? Is it just a bunch of folks with smartphones trying to "push for meaningful change" as Adam Goodman said? Sounds like, well, more of the same old thing... 🤷‍♂️
Anyway, I guess what I'm saying is that I don't know, maybe democracy's doomed and we should all just, you know, give up now?

I'm concerned about the state of democracy in the US right now 🤔. It's like everyone's so caught up in being loud and angry that they forget how to listen to each other 🗣️. Trump's actions may be extreme, but I think we can all agree that misinformation is a big problem and it's time for us to take action 💡. The fact that journalists are still fighting for their rights is super impressive, but we need to keep pushing them forward 👊. Maybe instead of just criticizing Trump, we should try to figure out what's going on beneath the surface 🤯. I mean, if we can't trust our institutions, how do we even know who to believe? 🤷‍♀️

omg i'm literally so down for more episodes of The Intercept Briefing!!! they're always dropping knowledge like that Adam Goodman is speaking truth 🙌 and i love how they highlight the importance of activist pressure to push for change, it's so needed right now 💪🏽😊
