Video Disabled Minneapolis resident dragged, detained by ICE speaks out

A US citizen with a disability was subjected to dehumanizing treatment by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials in Minneapolis. Aliya Rahman, who relies on a wheelchair for mobility due to her disability, recounted the traumatic experience of being dragged from her car during an encounter with ICE officers.

According to Rahman's account, she had been pulled over by ICE agents while driving back from a grocery store. As she attempted to explain her situation and provide identification, she was taken out of her vehicle without warning or regard for her disability. Her screams and pleas for help were allegedly ignored as the agents dragged her away in handcuffs.

Rahman's ordeal took place at a detention center where she was subsequently held. In an emotional statement from behind bars, Rahman expressed her outrage and frustration with the government agency responsible for her mistreatment. She described seeing other detainees being subjected to similar treatment and highlighted the need for greater awareness and action against such injustices.

The incident has sparked widespread condemnation, highlighting concerns about ICE's handling of disability rights and its impact on vulnerable communities. As authorities continue to grapple with immigration policy, Rahman's courageous account serves as a powerful reminder of the human cost of inhumane treatment by government agencies.

OMG, can you even imagine being dragged outta your car like that?! 🤯 it's absolutely horrific and I'm so glad Aliya is speaking out about what happened to her! 😡 I mean, come on, ICE agents are supposed to be helping people, not persecuting them. And for a disability? That's just cruel. We need to make sure these agencies get trained on how to handle situations like this with care and respect. It's not too much to ask for basic human dignity, right? 🙏

🤕 this whole thing is so messed up...ICE is supposed to be helping people, not hurting them 🚫. but i think what really gets me is that Aliya was just trying to do her grocery shopping and have a normal day, only for ICE to ruin everything for her 🛍️. it's heartbreaking to think she had to endure that kind of trauma all because of her disability.

it makes me realize how much we need to raise awareness about accessibility in our communities and make sure everyone feels seen and heard 🗣️. it's not just about people with disabilities, either - anyone who's ever felt marginalized or treated unfairly needs to know they're not alone 😔. and i think that's the real lesson here: we gotta look out for each other and stand up against injustice whenever we see it 💪.

Man, this is just so heartbreaking 🤕... I mean, can you even imagine being treated like that? The fact that Aliya was dragged from her car without warning or care for her disability is just, like, whoa 😱. It's not just about the physical harm she suffered, it's about the emotional and psychological toll of being dehumanized like that. I mean, we talk about empathy all the time, but what happens when people in power don't get to see themselves through your eyes? 🤝

It makes me think about how we need to hold ourselves accountable for treating others with dignity, especially those who are already vulnerable. We can't just keep talking about being kind and compassionate without putting our money where our mouth is 💸. ICE's actions are a stark reminder that we still have a long way to go in terms of creating a society that values human life above all else ❤️.

🚨ICE needs to up their game on disability awareness - this is just unacceptable 🤕. They should be providing support and accommodations, not dragging people out of their cars and treating them like dirt 💔. I'm so frustrated that Aliya had to go through this in the first place 😡. We need more voices like hers speaking out against these injustices and pushing for change 💪.

ugh, this is so messed up 🤯 like, can't they just treat people with dignity and respect? especially when it comes to ppl with disabilities, it's not like it's something you can just 'get over' 🙄 aliya was literally dragged out of her car by ICE agents, she didn't even get a warning or anything... what if she had some kind of seizure or something while they were dragging her around? 🤦‍♀️ and then they just threw her in a detention center like she's just another number, not a human being with feelings and experiences 💔 it's disgusting that this keeps happening to ppl who are already marginalized and vulnerable

man this is so messed up 🤯 ICE needs to take responsibility for their actions and make sure that ppl with disabilities are treated with dignity and respect. it's not just about following rules, it's about being human ❤️ aliya's story is a reminder that we need to be more empathetic and understanding towards each other. I'm glad she's speaking out and inspiring change 💪 and hopefully her experience will lead to real changes in how ICE interacts with ppl with disabilities 🤞

I'm really worried about people like Aliya being mistreated by our so-called 'protectors' 🤕🚫 I mean, can't we just treat everyone with respect and kindness? She's got a disability, for crying out loud! You'd think that would make her more vulnerable to abuse. But nope, she was dragged out of her car like some kinda animal 🐺. And what really gets me is that these agents didn't even care about her screams or pleas for help. That's not justice, that's just plain cruel 😡. We need to do better, guys. Like, seriously, how hard can it be to treat people with dignity and respect? It's not rocket science 💡. And btw, what's the point of having laws if they're just gonna get ignored like this? 🤷‍♂️

🤕 OMG this is soooo disturbing! Like can't we just treat ppl with disabilities w/ respect & dignity? 😭 I'm literally shook thinking about Aliya being dragged from her car like that... no warning, no care for her wheel chair 🚗💨. It's not just the physical harm that's the problem, it's the emotional trauma too 💔. We need to hold ICE accountable for this kind of treatment & make sure ppl w/ disabilities are protected under the law 🚫👮‍♀️. This is a huge wake-up call for all us & we should be taking action ASAP 🕰️💪
