West Ham's plan to sell Paquetá and take him back on loan hits Flamengo resistance

West Ham's Midfield Crisis Deepens as Flamengo Offers €40m for Paquetá Return

West Ham is facing an uphill battle to keep Brazilian midfielder Lucas Paquetá, with the club willing to sell him this month if a loan deal can be struck. The Brazilian international has grown disillusioned with life in England after allegations of spot-fixing led to him missing out on a move to Manchester City last summer.

Paquetá's woes began when he was accused of involvement in a match-fixing scandal, but the charges were later dropped. However, the ordeal took its toll on the 25-year-old, and West Ham fears that losing him would be catastrophic for their chances of staying in the Premier League.

The Brazilian transfer window closes next month, giving Flamengo an opportunity to make a decision on whether to take Paquetá back from loan. The South American club is reportedly prepared to spend €40m to bring the midfielder back, but there are reservations about committing to a loan deal that may last for the rest of the season.

West Ham's manager, Nuno Espirito Santo, acknowledges that the situation with Paquetá needs to be resolved quickly. He understands that his best players must be involved in key games and is working to find a solution that suits everyone at the club.

As West Ham struggles to maintain focus on the pitch, the transfer market offers an opportunity to bolster their squad in defense. The club has registered interest in signing Filip Jorgensen but is facing resistance from Chelsea, who are unlikely to let their No 2 goalkeeper leave.

The situation with Paquetá highlights the challenges faced by West Ham as they navigate the Premier League's mid-season turmoil.

Ugh I feel so bad for Lucas Paquetá 🤕 he just wants to play football and have a normal life, but this scandal drama is ruining it for him 🚫 Flamengo's offer of €40m is tempting, though 💸 maybe they should take him back and let West Ham figure out their midfield issues on their own 😂 anyway, I think it's crazy that West Ham is considering selling Paquetá in January 🤯 the guy has been through so much already ⏰ can't they just give him a break? 🙏 #TeamPaquetá #JusticeForLucas #FootballIsMoreThanJustAGame

Ugh, can't believe my fave team is struggling so much in midfield 🤯💔. First of all, I don't get why Lucas Paquetá is still playing for them if he's not happy here. It's like they're just holding on to him 'cause they feel sorry for him 😔.

And €40m for him? That's a lot of dosh! 💸 Flamengo must really think he's worth it, but I'm not sure Paquetá's got that level of talent 🤷‍♂️. West Ham needs to find someone who'll actually help them win games, you know?

I feel bad for the fans, too - it's like they're stuck watching a team that can't even get things sorted in the middle of the pitch 🤦‍♂️. Maybe they should just sell him and use the cash to sign some decent players? 💸 But I don't think Paquetá's worth the hassle...

🤔 I think it's a shame that Lucas Paquetá has been going through this, but at least his situation is making him more marketable 🤑 Flamengo getting him back for €40m seems like a pretty good deal for both parties 👍 West Ham needs him to avoid relegation, and Flamengo gets their key player back. Hopefully Nuno Espirito Santo can find a solution that works for everyone ⚔️ The Premier League is already crazy competitive this time of year, and losing Paquetá would be huge blow 😬

I feel bad for Lucas Paquetá, he's been through so much already and it's not fair that a match-fixing scandal is still affecting his life 💔. On the other hand, €40m is a lot of money for West Ham to be willing to let go, but at the same time, they can't keep him if he's clearly lost faith in their setup 🤷‍♂️.

I think Nuno Espirito Santo should try and have an open conversation with Paquetá about what's going on, maybe there's something that can be done to make him feel more comfortable again 💬. And meanwhile, Flamengo seems like they're being pretty ruthless in their pursuit of him - €40m is a lot, but it's not like West Ham would get that kind of money for someone else 🤑.

It's also kinda worrying for West Ham that they can't even keep one of their best players on board, especially when they need him to perform well in key games ⚽️. Maybe this is the wake-up call they need to sort out their squad and start making some real changes 🔁.

I'm freaking out over this Paquetá drama!!! 🤯💥 I mean, €40m is a LOT of cash and if Flamengo is willing to shell that much out, it's gotta be tempting for West Ham to sell him right now. But at the same time, I get why they want to keep him - he's an absolute beast on the pitch! 🤸‍♂️ Like, imagine West Ham without Paquetá and their chances of staying in the league just plummeting down the drain... 😱 It's a nightmare scenario for them. But if they can find a way to get some stability back, maybe even get him to commit to another year, I think that'd be a huge boost for the team. 💪 What do you guys think? Should West Ham sell Paquetá and take the €40m or try to hold on to him? 🤔

Ugh, I'm so sick of all these transfer drama news 🤯💔. I mean, can't teams just get along for once? West Ham is literally struggling to keep one of their best players due to some old controversy... like, come on Paquetá! You've been with them for a while now, give 'em a break, fam 🙄.

And another thing, €40m for a loan deal? That's crazy talk 💸. I get that Flamengo is willing to spend big, but West Ham needs to be more strategic here. Maybe they could try negotiating a different deal or finding someone else who's willing to take the risk 🤷‍♀️.

I'm starting to think that West Ham's management team needs to step up their game and find some solutions that benefit everyone, not just themselves 💪. Paquetá is an important player, but so are the fans... we deserve better than drama all day 🎉.

OMG, I'm low-key worried about West Ham 😬 but at the same time, think this could be an awesome opportunity for them to make some changes and refresh their squad 🔄💪! They've had a tough start to the season and losing Paquetá would be a huge blow 🤕. But if they can find someone like Filip Jorgensen to fill that void, it might just give them the boost they need 🔋.

It's also cool that Flamengo is willing to splurge €40m for him - talk about confidence in their midfielder 💸! And on the other hand, West Ham needs to step up and show that they're committed to making this season work 🙌. Fingers crossed they can find a solution that works for everyone and gets them back on track ⚽💪

⚽️ so like west ham's midfield crisis is super deep right now and paquetá is at the center of it all 🤯 Flamengo is willing to spend 40m euros to get him back but west ham's not sure if they wanna commit to a loan deal for the rest of the season ⏰ that's like, a whole season commitment 🙅‍♂️ and you know how it is with midfielders their form can drop off anytime so idk man 🤔 stats say west ham has a 20% chance of staying in the premier league by end of march 📊 which is pretty bleak if u ask me 😬 meanwhile flamengo's having a great season ⚽️ 5-0 wins and all that 💪 they're like the dark horses in brazilian football right now 👑
