'Winter Wonder' turns Longwood Gardens into a colorful indoor escape this winter

Visitors to Longwood Gardens can now escape the chill of winter in a kaleidoscope of colors and vibrant plant life. The attraction's "Winter Wonder" display is set to run from January 16th through March 22nd, offering an indoor oasis amidst the cold months.

As guests enter the gardens, they're transported into a world of tropical flowers, large-scale horticultural displays, and exotic plants under glass. This unique indoor setting allows visitors to bask in the beauty of nature while much of the outdoor landscape remains dormant, waiting for spring's arrival.

But the magic doesn't stop there. Starting February 13th through March 8th, "Garden Glow" comes alive on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings from 5 pm until 10 pm. By nightfall, the gardens transform into a dazzling spectacle of illuminated displays that showcase the beauty of Longwood's indoor gardens in an entirely new light.

One standout feature of "Garden Glow" is "SPARK," an innovative installation that releases thousands of biodegradable lights into the air on select nights. This enchanting experience adds another layer to the already breathtaking display, making it a must-visit for anyone looking to shake off the winter blues.

To avoid long wait times and ensure entry, timed admission tickets are now required. Longwood Gardens remains open from Wednesday through Monday from 10 am until 5 pm, with Tuesday closures.

I don’t usually comment but... I think it’s pretty cool that they’re creating this indoor oasis for people to escape the cold winter vibes 🌞. I mean, who wouldn’t want to be surrounded by all those beautiful tropical flowers and exotic plants when it's freezing outside? And then you add on top of that this "Garden Glow" display at night and it sounds like an absolute game-changer ✨. I love how they're using biodegradable lights for the "SPARK" installation, too - it’s all about being mindful of our impact on the environment 🌿. Has anyone been to Longwood Gardens yet?

omg i need to visit longwood gardens ASAP!!! 🤩 their winter wonder display sounds like the perfect escape from the cold winter days 💡 and garden glow on friday/saturday/sunday evenings is giving me LIFE! 💃🕯️ who wouldn't want to walk through a kaleidoscope of colors and tropical flowers all night? 🌴💖 and spark? how cool is that?! releasing biodegradable lights into the air... it's like magic ✨ can't wait to see this in person!!!

I'm absolutely enthralled by the Winter Wonder display at Longwood Gardens! The concept of an indoor oasis amidst the cold winter months is pure genius 🌴 It's a masterclass in horticultural design, transporting visitors into a vibrant world of tropical flowers and exotic plants under glass.

The addition of "Garden Glow" evenings takes it to a whole new level – I mean, who wouldn't want to stroll through an illuminated garden at night? The SPARK installation is pure magic ✨ It's like the gardens are coming alive in a way that's both whimsical and scientific.

I'm not surprised they're introducing timed admission tickets to avoid long wait times, though – it's always better to plan ahead when visiting such a popular attraction. Overall, Longwood Gardens is definitely a winter wonderland worth escaping the chill for 🌻

I'm totally stoked about Longwood's Winter Wonder display 🌴🎄, I mean, who doesn't love a good indoor escape from the cold? But at the same time, I think it's kinda weird that they're gonna charge extra for timed admission tickets... like, isn't that just gonna make people wanna stay out in the cold instead of splurging on tickets? 🤔 And don't even get me started on the whole "Garden Glow" thing - it sounds so pretty, but I'm not sure if it's worth braving the crowds and waiting for those select Friday night events... maybe they could just have some outdoor concerts or something instead? 😐

awww, i'm so glad you can escape the cold at Longwood Gardens! 🌳💛 it sounds like they've created this amazing indoor oasis that's perfect for a winter getaway... or just a fun night out with friends 🎉. and OMG, 'garden glow' is going to be so magical under all those twinkly lights 💫 - i can already imagine how breathtaking 'spark' must be when it releases those biodegradable lights into the air ✨! do you have a fave time of year or season? 🌞

You know what's wild about this whole "Winter Wonder" thing? We're living in a time where we need to escape the cold just to feel connected to nature 🌿💡. Like, think about it - we've got indoor gardens that are basically tropical paradises, but we still need to plan ahead and buy tickets just to experience them 😅. It's like our relationship with nature has become so transactional that we need to pay to be in its presence.

And have you seen those biodegradable lights? It's like magic ✨. But what does it say about us as a society when we're so captivated by a display of light and color that we'll shell out cash just to experience it? Is it a commentary on our own inner beauty or lack thereof? I mean, are we really that drawn to external stimuli to feel fulfilled?

Anyway, I guess what I'm saying is that "Winter Wonder" might be more than just a seasonal attraction - it's an exercise in confronting the very human need for wonder and connection 🌱💖.

I'm not sure about this "Winter Wonder" display... sounds like a pretty expensive way to escape the cold to me 🤑. I mean, have they even crunched the numbers on how many people are actually willing to shell out that kind of cash just to warm up in some air-conditioned glasshouse? And what's with the need for timed admission tickets now? Is Longwood Gardens really that overwhelmed by visitors already? 🤔

And those biodegradable lights they're releasing into the air during "SPARK"? Sounds like a great idea, but have we seen any studies on how they affect the environment or anything? 🌎 I'd love to see some sources on that.

man... i love this idea of having a winter wonderland inside longwood gardens 🌿💡 it's like a breath of fresh air (literally) when you're freezing outside and then you step into that tropical paradise 😎 they really outdid themselves with the garden glow thing at night, it's like nothing you've ever seen before 💥 and i'm loving the spark installation, who knew biodegradable lights could be so magical ✨ gotta try to plan a visit ASAP, but ugh timed admission tickets are such a bummer 🤦‍♀️

I'm kinda low-key bummed that they're charging for timed admission tickets 🤔. I mean, I get it, it's winter and everyone wants to escape the chill, but a few bucks should be able to get you in, ya know? And what's up with "Garden Glow" only being open on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays? It feels like they're trying to create an exclusive experience that only a select few can have 🤷‍♀️. But hey, the biodegradable lights and illuminated displays do sound pretty lit 🔥, so I guess it's worth braving the lines for.
