Women in England with Incurable Breast Cancer to Get Life Extending Drug on NHS The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (Nice) has finally recommended that the NHS cover a life extending treatment for thousands of women in England living with incurable breast cancer.
Enhertu, a targeted therapy developed by AstraZeneca and Daiichi Sankyo, will now be available to about 1,000 patients per year who have seen their cancer progress despite standard chemotherapy.
This breakthrough is the culmination of two years of tireless campaigning by Breast Cancer Now, cancer specialists, and women with HER2 low advanced breast cancer.
