I'm totally blown away by Elaine Mitchener's show at Wigmore Hall
! I mean, who knew vocals could get so crazy?
She basically turned her voice into an instrument, using all these crazy effects to create this insane soundscape that just transported me to another world
. And the tech issues? Minor details β it was like she was testing the limits of what's possible with music
.
What really got me, though, was how she used space and silence to add depth to her singing. Like, there were moments where I felt like I was hearing just her breathing or nothing at all
οΈ, which somehow made her voice sound even more incredible? It's crazy how she can make you feel like you're right there with her, musically speaking
.
And that world premiere, "Solo Throat" remix? Mind. Blown.
The way those multiple voices and electronic sounds came together was pure magic
. I'm still reeling from the experience...
