As stars wear black at Valentino's funeral, tributes are dressed in red

I'm glad they're paying tribute to Valentino's iconic red shade ๐Ÿ’โ€โ™€๏ธ. It's crazy to think it's been 67 years since 'Fiesta' and his signature colour is still making a statement. I kinda get what Charlie Porter is saying, though - has the world moved on from all things red? ๐Ÿค” I mean, we've had our fair share of bold fashion statements in recent years... but at the same time, who doesn't love a good pop of color ๐Ÿ’–?

the idea that valentinos signature red is a "universal language" feels like an overstatement ๐Ÿค”. i mean, just because it looks good on most people doesn't make it some kind of deeper truth. and what about the fact that its popularity has come and gone before? it's not like valentino's red is immune to fashion trends. and don't even get me started on the idea that it will "endure long after he leaves us" - that sounds like a marketing ploy ๐Ÿค‘ anyone can make a bold claim about art or design, but without seeing some actual evidence or analysis, i remain skeptical ๐Ÿ’”

๐Ÿ”ฅ Valentino's red is defo iconic! I mean, who can forget that bold look? ๐Ÿ˜‚ I think it's still super trendy even tho he's gone. It's like, his style transcends time & fashion, you know? ๐Ÿ™Œ

I also love how Anna Wintour & Donatella Versace showed their respect with black attire but still had a pop of red... ๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ‘— That scarf by Damian Hurley was fire ๐Ÿ”ฅ!

But for real tho, Alistair O'Neill's words about the shade working across skin colors & making most women look great is so true ๐Ÿคฉ. And Charlie Porter's description of the color having "real sensitivity and depth" gives me chills ๐Ÿ’”

I don't think Porter's right when he says it won't resurface tho... ๐Ÿ˜’ I mean, Valentino's style has inspired so many designers & artists over the years. It'll definitely be felt in the fashion world for a while longer ๐Ÿ”ฅ
