Attorney General sues 9 towns for noncompliance with MBTA zoning law

😒 I'm so sick of politicians being all like "oh we're gonna make changes now" 🙄 but then they just kinda... drag it out. Like, what's the point of even having a deadline if you're just gonna give your friends an extra year to get their stuff together? 🤷‍♂️ It's not like the noncompliant towns are trying to be bad guys or anything, they're just... slow 🕰️. And now we gotta waste more taxpayer dollars on lawsuits and whatnot 💸. Can't they just make a list of all the towns that aren't doing it right and call 'em out already? 😡

I'm literally so frustrated right now 🤯! Like I was trying to find an affordable apartment for my college roommates and it's impossible in MA because of these towns not zoning for multifamily housing 🏠😩. The lawsuit is a good start but what about the ones that are already struggling? We need more action ASAP 💪. And I'm curious, how can 3 towns just get a free pass? Carver, Reheboth, and Freetown seem like they're getting special treatment 🤔. Can't we all just work together to solve this housing crisis?

Its weird that these 9 towns are being sued over this law 🤔. Like, shouldn't they just zone for multifamily housing as required? I get it, some places might have specific issues or concerns, but isn't there like a way to work around it? The AG's office is all about ensuring compliance and addressing the housing shortage, but is suing these towns really the best approach? Shouldn't they be working with them instead of going after them in court? 🤷‍♀️ And what's up with those three extra towns not being included in the lawsuit at first? Was that a deliberate move to give them more time? The AG said her office is flexible, but still...
