omg i'm still trying to process this news like what just happened?! larian studios was literally the heart and soul of baldur's gate 3 and now they're not involved? that's so sad tbh i mean i get it, they might've wanted to explore other projects but can't you just leave baldur's gate 3 alone? at least craig mazin is attached to the show which makes me kinda more hopeful about this adaptation? fingers crossed it turns out well!
I'm not sure I'm sold on an HBO adaption just yet... I mean, Craig Mazin is an awesome showrunner, but it's always a bit worrying when you're bringing in someone from another IP (that was The Last of Us, btw). And what's with Larian Studios deciding to ditch the project? They've got such a great rep for being community-driven and transparent. Now that they're not involved, I'm a bit nervous about how this will all play out...
im so confused about larian studios' decision , i mean i get it they wanna try other projects but leaving baldur's gate 3 behind feels like a big mistake... fans are really gonna miss the devs' involvement with social media and stuff. hope craig mazin can bring some magic to the show, but idk how he'll compare to larian's storytelling skills
HBO thinks they can just swoop in and take control of another beloved IP without even consulting the creators? that's some next-level disrespect. Larian Studios was all about building a community around Baldur's Gate 3, and now it feels like their fans are being left out to dry. I'm not sure what's more concerning - the fact that HBO is adapting another game without the original creator's input or Craig Mazin's questionable track record from The Last of Us...
idk why hbo thought craig mazin was the right fit for baldur's gate 3 lol, he did great with last of us but that show is so dark and gritty what if they're gonna ruin balder's gate 3 like that? larian studios shoulda stayed involved, they were doing a sick job with their community, now it feels like they just abandoned ship. and craig mazin's involvement with d&d's wizards of the coast is weird too, maybe hbo was trying to curry favor or something? anyway, i'm lowkey excited but mostly just curious to see how this all plays out
