Bedlam at Anfield as City complete comeback to stay in title race: Football Weekly – podcast

Manchester City staged a dramatic comeback at Anfield, coming from two goals down to snatch a 2-2 draw against Liverpool and remain very much in the title race. The victory, which saw Manchester United also earn a crucial three points elsewhere in the top flight, has significantly narrowed the gap between City and Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table.

The game was marked by controversy and chaos, with Liverpool's Alisson Becker giving away an own goal after accidentally heading in a free kick from Dominik Szoboszlai. The Austrian striker also had the ball in the net for his side just before halftime only to see it ruled out due to a VAR review, but City were not making things easy for themselves as they struggled to create chances.

However, as the match wore on, Manchester City's pressure began to pay off. Erling Haaland scored twice in the second half, including one that was set up by Kevin De Bruyne, to level the scores at 2-2 before Aymeric Laporte headed in a stoppage-time winner from a De Bruyne cross.

The result keeps Arsenal and Manchester City six points apart but still leaves the door open for the title as both sides will now head into the final stretch of the season on high alert.

man, what a match! 🤯 I'm loving how Manchester City is giving Arsenal a run for their money in this title race 😏. But at the same time, you gotta wonder if they're getting too caught up in trying to catch up - all that pressure can be intense and might take a toll on their mental game 💔. And can't forget about the drama with Alisson's own goal 🤦‍♂️... VAR can be so frustrating! 😩 still, 2-2 at Anfield is a massive win for City, and that stoppage-time winner from Laporte was pure perfection ⚽️. The title chase is getting more interesting by the minute, and I'm excited to see how this plays out 🔮

man this premier league is getting crazy rn 🤯 i was watching with my mates and we were all screaming at the telly when erling haaland scored that 2nd goal lol we thought city were done for but then aymeric laporte comes out of nowhere and gets in there to score the winner what a finish! 🔥 anyway, it's not just about the points, it's the momentum now. if city can keep this level of intensity up, they're definitely gonna be giving arsenal a run for their money 🤑

man this Premier league is getting intense 🤯! imagine being in the stands at Anfield watching that drama unfold 📺 i've got a little diagram to show how City's comeback went down: ``` _ _

omg did u watch that game lol alisson becker is literally the worst 🤣 just kidding kinda but seriously what a comeback from city i was on the edge of my seat 😱 and erling haaland is on fire 💥 i love how de bruyne set him up for that 2nd goal 😎 and aymeric laporte's winner was insane 🤯 liverpool's struggles are real 🔴️️️ still dont think they can catch city now tho 👀

man... that match was like something else 😱, i mean i was watching with my mates and we were all going mental when they scored that own goal 🤦‍♂️, but then city just took it to them in the 2nd half 🌃, erling haaland is a beast right now 🐒, and laporte's winner at the end was just pure magic ✨... anyway, now we've got an interesting final stretch ahead of us, anyone can win it from here out 💥

man what a game!!! 😱 i'm literally shook!! alisson Becker is a mess right now, how did he even score an own goal?? 🤯 and that VAR review was so close to being wrong too! but you gotta give credit to man city, they never gave up and their pressure finally paid off. haaland's goals were insane, i'm just glad he got on the scoresheet because we all knew erling is a beast 💪. and laporte's winner at the end was pure drama 🎬. this title race is getting so intense, can't wait to see what happens in the next few weeks 🤔🏆

OMG, that was CRAZY! 🤯 I'm literally speechless, Manchester City came from NOWHERE to snatch a draw at Anfield... 2-2 against Liverpool?! 🤯 They really put pressure on Arsenal now, it's getting intense! 😅 And what about that Alisson own goal? 😂 Unbelievable! Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne are unstoppable right now! 💥 Aymeric Laporte's stoppage-time winner was pure perfection. Can't wait for the next match, this league is getting so dramatic! 🤯

I'm not sure about all this drama at Anfield 🤔. Two goals down, then come back like that? Sounds too convenient to me 😒. Alisson Becker's own goal was lucky for City, imo ⚽️. And what's with the VAR review that took out Liverpool's chance? Referees are supposed to be making decisions not calling them out on social media 📺. Still, it's all water under the bridge now... Manchester City's in a good position, but let's see how they keep it up 💪. This title race is getting juicy! 👀
