Bose made the consumer friendly move to open source its SoundTouch speakers

🤔 I'm not surprised Bose did this. Think about it, they've been making these smart speakers for ages now and I'm sure they're raking it in on those cloud updates. It's all about keeping the money flowing while giving their customers a reason to keep buying more stuff from them. Open source? More like open wallet, if you ask me 😏. But hey, if it means less hassle for people with old SoundTouch speakers, I'm not gonna complain... yet 😉

I'm stoked that Bose is doing this 🙌, but I gotta wonder how they're gonna handle security updates moving forward? 🤔 Open source can be a blessing and a curse, and I want to make sure my SoundTouch speakers don't get left vulnerable to hacking 🚫. Still, it's awesome that devs can create their own tools and features for the brand – it's all about flexibility and customer satisfaction 💻. And $600 in 2013? That's like, a whole lotta cash 💸! I'm glad they're giving people some breathing room before discontinuing updates 🌈.

🤩 I'm so glad Bose is doing this! I mean, have you ever gotten one of those software updates that just screws up your whole setup? Like, I had to restart my SoundTouch speaker like 5 times because it was being all wonky. Anyway, switching to open source makes total sense. It's not like I'm going to let Bose go, lol. And now I can finally breathe a sigh of relief knowing that my speakers will still work with Spotify and AirPlay no matter what! 💻🎵
