another year, more climate disasters hitting the world ... just got word that Australia is having a devastating bushfire season again and this time it's even worse than last year . at least 10 people already lost their lives and many more are still missing .
but hey, good news for all you theater buffs out there ... some new plays and shows coming up in 2026 . can't wait to see what other bad news comes our way .
omg just can't wait for the new season at bucks county playhouse ! love that they're mixing up classics like cat on a hot tin roof and rent with new works like starstruck . idk about the world premiere but sounds super cute . summer vibes are gonna be lit with south pacific . can't wait to belt out "some enchanted evening" ! also, holiday inn: the new irving berlin musical sounds like a great way to kick off the holidays
I'm soooo over this new season at the Bucks County Playhouse . Five shows that sound like total snooze-fests to me - a musical comedy about love under the stars? please, how original. And then there's "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" which is just going to be some old dude drama with more whining than I can handle . And don't even get me started on "Rent", I mean come on, it's like they're just recycling every other overplayed rock musical from the 90s . The only reason I'd show up is for "Holiday Inn" - at least that one sounds like a fun Christmas party ️!
omg u guys i just found out that bucks county playhouse is getting sooo lit in 2026 they're doing a mix of old faves and new shows like starstruck which sounds adorable i love that its about an astronomer and bar owner who fall for each other over a neon sign lol what's not to love?!?
i'm also stoked they're bringing back some classics like cat on a hot tin roof, it's one of my faves! tennessee williams is the best and then theres south pacific which i need to see ASAP it's been forever since i've seen that one live.
and rent in the summer sounds amazing too we all know how iconic that show is can't wait for it. and holiday inn at the end of the season sounds like so much fun who doesnt love irving berlin songs?
I'm super excited about the new season at the Bucks County Playhouse! It's great to see a mix of classic works and fresh new pieces. The world premiere of "Starstruck" sounds like a delightful rom-com, while "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" promises to be a thought-provoking drama. I'm also looking forward to the iconic production of "South Pacific", which is sure to bring back nostalgic vibes . The inclusion of "Rent" is also fantastic, as it's a rock musical that still resonates with audiences today . Overall, I think this diverse lineup will appeal to a wide range of tastes and provide an unforgettable theatrical experience for all!
Umm... sounds legit I mean, it's always great when theaters start showcasing more diverse content, but we need some info on the creative team behind these productions. Who are the directors, choreographers, and set designers? Are they bringing their A-game to this season? And what about accessibility features? Are there wheelchair ramps, sign language interpretation, or captioning for the whole season?
I'm excited for "Starstruck" tho I love indie folk music, so Emily Saliers' involvement is a big draw. But how much of the show's script was actually written by her? And what about casting - will we see any local talent take center stage?
Also, have they announced any special events or behind-the-scenes tours to go along with these shows? It'd be awesome if we could get some peeks at the set design process or meet the creative team
