Career criminal creep busted for allegedly raping 14-year-old in private NYC apartment community

Manhunt ends in NYC as career criminal caught for allegedly raping 14-year-old girl in luxury apartment building

A seasoned serial offender, with a staggering rap sheet boasting over two dozen prior arrests and an outstanding bench warrant, has been apprehended by the NYPD after allegedly committing a heinous crime. Germaine Parham, 33, was taken into custody on Tuesday for the alleged rape of a 14-year-old girl in a Stuyvesant Town apartment building in Manhattan's East Village.

According to authorities, Parham approached the teenager around 11:45 am at the First Avenue and First Avenue Loop location, where he subjected her to the traumatic assault. Following the attack, he swiped her cellphone and fled the scene, leaving the young girl to seek medical attention at a nearby hospital.

Parham's long history of lawlessness has been well-documented, with sources indicating that his most recent arrest was just one in a string of similar incidents. In January, Parham was nabbed for stealing $1,835 worth of merchandise from a CVS in Midtown Manhattan, leading to an outstanding bench warrant after he failed to appear in court.

This latest incident has shaken the upscale StuyTown apartment complex, which boasts its own 24/7 public safety office and "world-class amenities" such as multiple fitness centers, playgrounds, and an ice rink. Despite the luxury offerings, residents are still reeling from the alleged attack, with the village administration vowing to increase public safety patrols and building checks.

"We are grateful to the NYPD for their dedication and our ongoing partnership with the Department," a statement from StuyTown read. "While this is a positive update, our community is still hurting, and we are angry over this awful incident."

Parham now faces numerous charges, including five counts of rape, robbery, attempted assault, predatory sexual assault, kidnapping, and six counts of sexual abuse.

I'm shocked sick to the bone by this news 🤕. I mean, can't believe someone as young as 14 has to go through something like that. It's just not right, you know? And the fact that he swiped her phone and ran is just messed up. Like, what kind of monster does that to a kid?

You'd think that an apartment building with all those fancy amenities would have some sort of security in place to prevent this from happening. I mean, I've had my own DIY projects where I wanted extra safety measures, like installing surveillance cameras or secure doors. It's just basic common sense.

The NYPD should be commended for catching him, but it's not just about the perpetrator – it's also about the community that got affected. The fact that the village administration is promising more public safety patrols and building checks is a good start, but we need to do more to prevent this from happening in the first place.

I've been thinking of making a homemade security camera using an old Raspberry Pi and some cheap webcam, anyone else ever thought of doing something like that?

omg can't believe what's goin on in nyc right now 🤯 this guy Parham has been flyin under the radar for too long & it's just not okay that he preyed on this poor 14 yr old girl 💔 i mean we know about his history, but still it's just sickening how low he can sink. like what's wrong with people? 🤷‍♀️

anyway, glad that the manhunt is over & the NYPD was able to catch him, but ugh the damage has already been done 💔. I'm all for more public safety patrols in stuytown, gotta feel safe in ur own home 🏠. this whole thing just gives me so much anxiety thinking about the poor kid & her family 🤕

🤯 this guy's rap sheet is longer than his arm it's crazy how one person can ruin so many lives just because they're not willing to take responsibility for their actions... I'm actually kinda sad that the system failed him this many times before he got caught, but at the same time, who cares about all those prior arrests when you've taken an innocent life? 🤷‍♀️ this whole situation is just heartbreaking and i feel so bad for the poor girl who went through that... I guess what gets me is that some of these luxury buildings have 24/7 security but somehow someone like Parham still manages to get in and do something so heinous... why can't we just have better systems in place to prevent this kind of stuff? 🤔

😡 Ugh I'm still fuming about this one... like what's wrong with some people? 🤯 14 years old and already dealing with the worst kind of nightmare. And to think he's a career criminal with so many strikes against him, it's just crazy that he got away for so long. 💔 The fact that he swiped her phone and fled the scene is just heartbreaking... who does that? 🤷‍♀️

And you know what really gets me is how he managed to get away with it for so long. I mean, he had a history of lawlessness and was already out on bail multiple times. It's like our justice system needs a major overhaul, because clearly, we're not doing enough to keep people like him off the streets. 😤

I'm also really upset about how this is affecting the community in StuyTown. I mean, it's a luxury apartment complex with 24/7 safety and all these fancy amenities, but apparently, you can still get caught up in something like this. 🌆 It's just not right... 💔

I'm so saddened to hear about what happened in that apartment building 🤕... I mean, a 14-year-old girl is just too young and innocent for this to happen to her 😔. It's absolutely horrific that someone would take advantage of someone like that.

And poor Germaine Parham, he needs help, not a life sentence 🤷‍♂️. We should be trying to get him the support he needs, rather than just locking him up. I know it sounds crazy, but maybe if we're addressing the underlying issues that led him to become a career criminal, we can prevent more cases like this from happening in the future.

I'm just so grateful for the NYPD for catching him and for the StuyTown community for coming together to support each other during this tough time 💕. We need to look out for our vulnerable neighbors and make sure they feel safe, especially at night 🌃.

🚨💔 this is just another example of how people can be so wrong with others 😔 he's got like 2 dozen priors and still manages to get caught on something as bad as rape 🤯 nyc needs more support for victims of crime, it's just not fair that they have to go through trauma again 💖
