Changes possible to Fort Lauderdale nightlife after repeated gun violence - WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports | Fort Lauderdale

๐Ÿค” just think about it, when something crazy happens, we can't just sit back and do nothing ๐Ÿšซ... instead, we gotta take a step back, assess what went wrong, and figure out ways to fix it ๐Ÿ’ก. like in fort lauderdale, the nightlife scene was already getting some heat for safety concerns ๐Ÿšจ but they didn't wanna just stop or change things overnight โฐ. now they're looking at new rules and regulations ๐Ÿ“... maybe these changes will make a difference ๐Ÿ‘. but what's more important is that we all start having real conversations about gun violence ๐Ÿ’ฃ & how to keep our communities safe ๐ŸŒŽ

๐Ÿค• I feel so sad about that 17-year-old Joshua Gipson Jr. ๐Ÿ˜ข he didn't deserve to die like that... it's just not right ๐Ÿ™…โ€โ™‚๏ธ Gun violence is such a huge issue and we need to do something about it, you know? ๐Ÿค The fact that there are people who can walk around with open containers in their hands, it's just too much risk ๐Ÿšจ I'm all for the city council coming up with new rules to make those areas safer, but at the same time, we don't want to stifle business either ๐Ÿ’ธ Maybe introducing a curfew would be a good idea? It's not rocket science, just common sense ๐Ÿค“ Let's hope they can find a balance that works for everyone ๐Ÿ˜Š

I'm like totally confused why they're even considering implementing more rules ๐Ÿค”. Like, can't they just make our nightlife safer already? A curfew for 17-year-olds is already so harsh, what's next? ๐Ÿ™„ They need to focus on solving the real problem - gun violence. It's not about making bars close earlier or banning open containers, it's about getting rid of the guns and keeping people safe.

And have you seen those new 'no tolerance' policies for underage drinking in schools? That's what they should be enforcing here - not restricting our freedom to go out at night ๐Ÿ™„. It's all about finding that balance between business and safety, but can't they just get it right this time? We don't need more rules, we need real change! ๐Ÿ’ช

man i was just thinking about how weird it is when you're trying to have a good time at a bar but then someone's like "hey dude that guy looks familiar" and then they start asking you a million questions ๐Ÿค” meanwhile outside, guns are going off left and right... like what's the point of having a safe happy hour if there's still gonna be some sketchy stuff goin on? i mean idk about curfews but maybe like a "cool-down" time or somethin' where you gotta chill out for a bit before headin back to it? and btw have you tried that new food truck in ft lauderdale??

omg this is so sad what happened to Joshua ๐Ÿค•๐Ÿ˜ข he was just 17 lol why do these things have to happen? i feel like our cities gotta get serious about safety, you know? but at the same time, nightlife in fort lauderdale is a big part of the city's vibe & economy... i hope they find a balance tho maybe some stricter rules could help prevent this kinda thing from happening again ๐Ÿคž๐ŸŒŸ

Ugh, can't believe they're even considering this ๐Ÿคฏ. They gotta crack down on guns, period ๐Ÿ’”. Introducing new rules just gonna push all the shady stuff underground ๐Ÿ”ฎ. Like, what's next? Banning outdoor seating?! ๐Ÿบ Who cares about the late-night crowd if you're not even safe to be in those bars?! ๐Ÿ˜‚ And a curfew for 17-year-olds? That's just cruel ๐Ÿ’”. They need to focus on education and community outreach instead of dictating how many drinks people can have. I mean, come on, we all know guns are the problem here ๐Ÿคฌ. Can't they see that?!
