. $29.1 million for Reynaldo Guevara's wrongdoings? It's like he's getting a get-out-of-jail-free card
. I mean, what about all those people who were wrongly convicted and spent years behind bars? It feels like justice is just being paid out instead of being served

I'm glad that some of the exonerations are happening now that Kim Foxx is no longer in office
. But we need to keep pushing for real reform, not just slapping people with settlements
. We need to make sure that this kind of thing never happens again, and that those responsible are held accountable

I don't think it's fair to say that the city is taking steps toward accountability when they're just giving out huge settlements
. It feels like business as usual, like they're just trying to sweep things under the rug
. We need more transparency and real action, not just Band-Aids on broken systems

just heard about these new proposed settlements for Reynaldo Guevara's wrongful convictions... it's crazy to think that some of these people spent up to 23 years in prison for crimes they didn't even commit 
. like, what even is the point of a "global settlement" if we're just gonna keep settling for big numbers without making real changes? shouldn't we be working towards preventing this kinda thing from happening again instead of just handing out cash to victims? 
I'm all for holding people accountable, but let's not forget that we need systemic change too
