Cold morning ahead for Houston, but warm sunshine rules the forecast

A brief respite from the chilly temperatures is in store for Houstonians this week, as a warm sunshine pattern takes over the region. However, the cold morning ahead will not be pleasant, with temperatures dipping into the mid-to-upper 30s across most of Southeast Texas and potentially patchy frost on the horizon.

Thursday's forecast calls for a light west-to-northwest wind that will drive temperatures up to a balmy 70 degrees, making it a dress in layers day. The sun will shine brightly throughout, with hardly a cloud in sight, setting the tone for the rest of the week.

The weekend promises to be a welcome relief from the recent arctic air, with sunshine and pleasant temperatures expected to prevail. Lows are predicted to reach the 40s, while highs will soar into the 70s, providing a much-needed boost to morale.

While it's still too early to pinpoint specific severe weather events for next week, forecasters are keeping an eye on two Pacific storm systems that could bring rough storms to Texas around Tuesday and Friday. For now, however, residents can focus on enjoying the warmer weather without worrying about freezing temperatures.

As for February, while there's always a risk of cold blasts towards the end of the month, it seems unlikely that Houston will experience any significant freezing weather in the coming weeks.

I'm so glad to hear that Houston is finally getting some warm sunshine 🌞 this week! I mean, 70 degrees sounds like perfect weather for me, but I don't wanna be outside when it's all chilly and frosty in the mornings 😩. Can you imagine having to wear a scarf and gloves just because it's going to be that cold?! Ugh, no thanks.

I'm also kinda worried about those Pacific storm systems though... rough storms can be so scary ⛈️. But at least for now, we get to enjoy this nice weather without worrying about freezing temps. Fingers crossed that February stays warm too! 🤞

omg cant wait to trade in my heavy jacket 4 some sunshine this week lol 🌞🌻 i'm low-key dreading those chilly mornin's tho 😬 cant believe we got hit w/ arctic air just last wk like what's next?! 🤔 anyway, layering up is def the way to go thurs looks like a pretty sweet day 2 b out tho, 70 degrees sounds like perfection 🌴

🌞️ yaaas, finally some sunshine in H-Town! I was so over those crazy cold mornings. 70 degrees sounds like bliss - gotta break out the shorts and sandals... or at least a light jacket 😊. Don't get too comfortable though, rumor has it Pacific storms are on their way to kick our warm spell to the curb by Tuesday 🌪️. Fingers crossed they don't bring any harsh weather. February can be pretty unpredictable, but I'm feeling hopeful about this next week being relatively frost-free ❄️.

I'm glad to see some much-needed sunshine headed our way. The 70s this week are like a big ol' hug for Houstonians who've been bundled up all winter. It's perfect timing for outdoor activities, and I'm sure many folks will be taking advantage of the pleasant temps.

Now, about those Pacific storm systems... keep an eye out, but let's not get ahead of ourselves just yet. We don't want to jinx things too early. For now, it's nice to focus on soaking up some sunshine without worrying about potential storms.

February might be a bit chilly towards the end, but I'm hoping we'll avoid any significant frost events before then. Fingers crossed that our warm spell continues! 🌞☀️

ugh this warm spell is probs just a tease, we'll be back to arctic chill in no time 🤕. and don't even get me started on those Pacific storm systems, they're like harbingers of doom... we'll be lucky if we don't get hit with some nasty storms next week. and 70 degrees? please, that's just a tease for the weather gods. let's not get our hopes up too high 💔

You know what this warm spell is really saying about our politicians? They can't even get the temperature right! I mean, one day it's " balmy" and the next, patchy frost? It's like they're trying to keep us on our toes, just like a presidential campaign trail! 🤣

But seriously, have you noticed how this forecast is always tied up with what's happening elsewhere in the country? Like, we've got Pacific storm systems to watch out for. Sounds like some politicians are still trying to distract us from their own issues by pointing fingers at the weather. Meanwhile, Houston just wants to enjoy a sunny day without worrying about polar vortexes! ☀️

I'm totally stoked about this warm sunshine thingy, can't wait to ditch those chilly mornings and enjoy some balmy 70 degrees on Thursday, but, like, what if it's all just a tease? I mean, we've been down that road before with the arctic air, and then BAM! Freeze fest hits. So, yeah, let's not get too excited yet, or we'll be all frostbitten and stuff. But, at the same time, I'm really hoping it stays warm for longer than just this week, 'cause 40s and 70s are a pretty nice combo, you know? 🤷‍♂️☀️

I'm so glad I don't have to worry about freezing pipes this week 🙌! As a parent, it's great for the kids (and let's be honest, me too 😴) to get some warm sunshine and not have to bundle up like we do in January. The weather forecast looks perfect for outdoor playdates and sports days - just hope everyone doesn't forget their sunscreen ☀️!

I mean have you seen those forecasters they're so optimistic about this warm weather but we need to be real Houston is still gonna freeze our buns off sometimes and what's with these Pacific storm systems looming over us? Can't we just enjoy some sunshine for once without worrying about the next big thing? I'm low-key hoping it stays warm 'kay

dude I'm telling you, this warm sunshine is just a setup for something... like they're trying to calm us down so we don't notice the real issue. have you noticed how weird the forecasters are being about those Pacific storm systems? they're always warning us about something, but it's always something "possible" or "potential". I mean, what's the real deal here? are they just messing with our minds or what?
