Delivery driver gets stuck in van—woman steps up to save him, goes viral

UK Woman Stuns Viral Video of Heroic Rescue: 'I Was Just Feeling Unwell, So I Did Something'

In a heartwarming and unexpected encounter, Aimee Hitchmough, 30, from the UK, came to the rescue of a delivery driver who found himself stuck in his van on January 7. The dramatic moment was captured on door camera footage and has since gone viral on TikTok with over 303,500 views.

According to Hitchmough, she heard the distressed man shouting for help, banging on the inside of the van's door for five minutes before she rushed out of her house – still in her pajamas – to assist him. The driver was trapped and unable to free himself, but Hitchmough quickly opened the doors and led him out to safety.

The delivery driver was visibly shaken after being rescued but expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Hitchmough, describing it as an unforgettable experience. He never expected to be stuck in such a situation and thanked Hitchmough profusely for her quick thinking.

Hitchmough herself was initially planning to stay home due to feeling unwell but instead chose to take matters into her own hands when she heard the driver's cries for help. If she had gone to work, it could have delayed his rescue further, potentially leaving him stranded for an unknown amount of time.

The online response to the video has been overwhelming, with hundreds of comments praising Hitchmough's selfless act and poking fun at her casual attire during the rescue. One user quipped that "not all heroes wear capes," while another noted that the driver sounded "so relieved."

Hitchmough remains stunned by the viral attention, admitting she never expected her actions to resonate with so many people online. Despite her initial apprehension about sharing the footage, she is thrilled to have made a difference in someone's life.

The incident has sparked an outpouring of appreciation for Hitchmough's bravery and kindness, serving as a reminder that even the smallest acts of heroism can make a significant impact on those around us.

I mean, what's not to love about someone who just happens to be feeling under the weather but decides to be a real-life superhero instead? 🤣 Like, Aimee Hitchmough just casually drops out of her house in PJs, opens the van door, and saves some dude from certain doom... all without even finishing breakfast. Talk about multitasking! 😂

🙏 30 yr old UK woman Aimee Hitchmough just did something heroic & saved some poor delivery guy stuck in his van 🚚😬 - she was literally feeling unwell at home but heard his cries for help so she rushed out (still in her PJs!) and rescued him! 🕒️ What's even crazier is that if she had gone to work, it could've delayed his rescue further 🤯. I mean, who expects their ordinary day to turn into a heroic act? 😂 but honestly, her selfless act has made so many people happy & inspired others to be kind too 💕. We should all be like Aimee - even when we're not feeling our best, we can still make a difference in someone's life 💪

idk how many people have seen this vid but it just made me laugh thinking of someone stuck in their van still in PJs like "uh yeah i was just gonna go to work today" 😂🚗 and the best part is she didn't even mean to be a hero, just trying not to get sick 🤒💊 anyway its great to see people making a difference in such a random way 🌟

this video just warms my heart 🤩 - some people think we're too soft, but it goes to show that good Samaritans are still out there doing amazing things! 303k+ views and counting is wild 🤯 Aimee Hitchmough's willingness to take a risk and go outside in her PJs when she was supposed to be feeling unwell speaks volumes about her selfless nature. I mean, who needs an award when you've got a good heart and a strong sense of responsibility? the viral comments are pretty entertaining too 🤣 'not all heroes wear capes' is my fave 😂

😂🙌 I mean, what's up with people being so extra about Aimee not wearing pants to rescue this dude? Like, calm down folks! She just saved a life and you're worried about her PJs? 🤣 The fact that she was feeling unwell and still took action speaks volumes about her character. If she'd just stayed home, the poor guy could've been stuck there forever 🙅‍♀️. And can we please give it up for the delivery driver too? He's shaken but grateful, which is all anyone can ask for 😊. This whole situation is a beautiful reminder that heroes come in all shapes and sizes (and styles) 👏

😊👏 Aimee Hitchmough is literally a lifesaver!!! 🚨💪 I mean, who expects to get stuck in their van but still manages to save someone?! 🤯 She was just feeling unwell at home and decides to jump into action! 💕 That's what I call being selfless! 😊 Her actions speak louder than words, and now she's getting a ton of love from the internet ❤️. I'm not surprised the delivery driver was shaken but grateful – he had no idea he'd be rescued by someone as awesome as Hitchmough 🙏. Kudos to her for being brave, quick-thinking, and kind! 👏💕 She doesn't even need a cape to save the day 😂.

OMG 🤯 I was literally reading about this video and I just got chills!! Aimee Hitchmough is seriously a lifesaver 💕 she's not even trained for this stuff but she just knew what to do in that split second. I'm shook thinking about being in her shoes (no pun intended 😂) - feeling unwell and then hearing someone's distress call... talk about putting yourself in harm's way! But the thing is, Aimee was all like "I'll just go out there and help" while others might've stayed home or called 911. She took matters into her own hands and it paid off 🙌. I love how she's still getting the hate for wearing PJs during the rescue but honestly, who cares? She saved a life! 😂

🤯 Aimee Hitchmough is literally saving lives without thinking twice about it 🙏 her willingness to help someone in need might just be what saves a life one day and she does it all while being unwell herself talk about being selfless 💕 the fact that people are making fun of her casual PJs on video is kinda funny but honestly, who cares when there's so much gratitude and appreciation going around 🙌

🙌 this video is literally the most inspiring thing I've seen in ages! like, this girl just hears someone crying for help from her own house and she's like "oh no, gotta go save him" 💕 and she does it all while still in her PJs 😂. i mean, what more can you ask for from a hero? and the fact that the guy was stuck in his van for FIVE MINUTES 🚨 is just crazy. I love how people are hating on her casual attire tho... like, who cares about your outfit when you're saving lives? 😂👗

I mean, this is just the most amazing story 🤩! I love how Aimee was literally feeling unwell but still managed to save that delivery driver's life 💉🚑. And can you believe she did it all in her PJs 😂? I think it's so cool that she didn't let her own health issues get in the way of helping someone who needed it, even if it meant putting herself at risk. And the fact that he was shaken but grateful after being rescued is just the sweetest thing ❤️. It's not often you see people showing kindness and bravery like this on social media, so kudos to Aimee for sharing her story 🙌!
