omg this is getting super serious ASAP i'm all about finding common ground but trump's immigration policies? unacceptable in any city, imo. Schumer is right to stand up for reform and not just vote yes for the sake of it. ICE and DHS abuses are real and need to be addressed. i'm keeping an eye on this one hoping for some progress on sunday evening's caucus call. partial gov shutdown? fingers crossed they can find a way outta this without making things worse

This whole thing is getting super messy! I mean, can't we all just get along? The US government is always playing politics with something, and now it's DHS funding. It's like, what even is the goal here? Are they going to make a change or just keep it as it is? It's not just about Schumer, either - all these other senators are voicing their opinions too. Some of them are saying they're against the bill because of ICE and DHS abuses... meanwhile, others are worried about immigration-related shootings in Minnesota. How do we make sure everyone gets what they want? Can't we just find some common ground?

I think this is a super frustrating situation... Like, we need more oversight in these agencies, you know? The idea that people can just get shot by ICE or Border Patrol agents and not face any consequences is straight up unacceptable . It's like, we're supposed to be a country that values human life and treats everyone with dignity, but it feels like those values are being ignored right now. I'm all for common-sense reforms, but it seems like Republicans aren't willing to budge on this issue. The fact that Schumer is holding up the funding bill because of these abuses is actually kinda a good thing... It shows that Democrats are still committed to holding people in power accountable . But at the same time, I don't want to see a partial government shutdown either... We need to find a solution that works for everyone . Can we please get some progress on this?
