Detroit’s Apotheculture Club taps Gladys Nite for cannabis cuisine event - Detroit Metro Times

Detroit's Apotheculture Club Hosts THC-Infused Dinner and Dystopian Theater Event

In a unique fusion of art, cannabis, and cuisine, the Apotheculture Club is partnering with Detroit-based chefs from Gladys Nite to host an exclusive dinner event paired with a theatrical performance of Margaret Atwood's 'The Handmaid's Tale'. The evening promises to be an immersive experience, combining fine dining, live theater, and relaxation.

On March 7, guests will gather at a private residence for a THC-infused meal tailored to each individual's tolerance level. Following dinner, attendees will be transported to the Detroit Opera House for the final performance of the 'The Handmaid's Tale' operatic adaptation. To keep pace with the show's dark subject matter, Gladys Nite chefs Jessica Kindle and Kayleigh Waterman have crafted a menu inspired by the diversity of cultures portrayed in the television series.

"We want to highlight the joy of the diversity of the world we live in now," said the chefs. "Our menu is inspired by the 'Little America' from the show, where diverse American and Canadian culture combine." Expect flavors from local seasonal produce, cooking styles, and international cuisines that reflect the complexity of modern America.

Tickets to this one-of-a-kind event are available for $125 per person, with an added benefit for those who have been previously incarcerated for cannabis-related offenses. Proceeds will help reduce stigma around recreational consumption and promote national cannabis policy change.

The evening begins at 4:30 p.m. with dinner at 5 p.m., followed by a return to the private residence at 10:45 p.m. For more information, follow the Apotheculture Club on Instagram @apothecultureclub or check out Gladys Nite's popular residencies in Detroit nightclubs Spot Lite and UFO Bar.

I'm thinking... this THC-infused dinner and dystopian theater event sounds like a wild ride 🤯🍴🎭! I mean, who wouldn't want to indulge in some fancy cannabis cuisine while watching The Handmaid's Tale? 😂 It's cool that the chefs are trying to raise awareness about diversity and cultural exchange through food. But, $125 is a bit steep for me... maybe they could offer some more affordable options or vegan/veggie alternatives 🤔. Still, I think it's awesome that they're using art to promote positive change around cannabis policy 😊.

I think this event is gonna be lit 🔥! It's dope that they're hosting a THC-infused dinner party followed by an opera performance of 'The Handmaid's Tale'. I'm all about exploring new experiences and pushing boundaries, and this sounds like the ultimate fusion of art, food, and relaxation 🍴👀. The fact that proceeds will go towards reducing stigma around cannabis consumption is totally on point 💯. It's crazy how much more accepting we're becoming as a society, especially when it comes to things like weed 🌿. And can we talk about the menu? Flavors from local seasonal produce and international cuisines? I'm already salivating just thinking about it 😋

omg this dinner & theater event is giving me LIFE!!! 🤯 i mean who wouldn't wanna indulge in a THC-infused meal while watching The Handmaid's Tale? 😱 the whole 'Little America' vibe is so sick, especially with all the diverse American/Canadian flavors at play. i'm def getting tickets for this one, tho $125 is a lil steep but it's for a good cause 🙏 and btw what's up with the benefits for ppl who've been incarcerated for cannabis-related offenses? some ppl might be salty about that 💔

🤔 I'm low-key excited about this dinner event, but high-key confused about the whole THC-infused thing 🤯. Like, aren't we already getting enough weirdness with all the cannabis debates going on? 🌿 Can we just enjoy a nice meal without having to worry about getting lit? 😅 But seriously, I do love that they're highlighting the diversity of cultures and trying to reduce stigma around recreational consumption 💚. It's like, let's celebrate our differences and promote some good vibes 🎉. And if it works out, maybe we can get a more inclusive menu next time – all the plant-based options would be amazing for my vegan friends 🥗!

Omg can you even imagine a dinner event infused with THC?! 🤯 It sounds like such an immersive experience, especially paired with the dystopian theater performance of 'The Handmaid's Tale'. I'm low-key obsessed with how the chefs are crafting menus inspired by the diversity of cultures in the show - it's all about embracing our global melting pot vibes 🌎🍴 The fact that proceeds from this event will help reduce stigma around recreational cannabis consumption is also really cool 👍

🤯 This event is gonna be lit! Did you know that cannabis sales reached $17 billion in 2022 alone? 📈 And, fun fact, the average American adult consumes about 14.6 grams of cannabis per year 🤯. It's dope (pun intended) to see the Apotheculture Club combining art, food, and relaxation with a cause! 😊

By the way, have you seen the latest stats on Detroit's economy? 📊 The city has seen a 14% increase in population growth since 2010, making it one of the fastest-growing major cities in the US 🚀. This event is gonna bring some serious culture to the D-Town scene! 💃

And, did you know that Margaret Atwood's 'The Handmaid's Tale' has been translated into over 50 languages and sold millions of copies worldwide? 📚 It's a testament to her writing skills! 💫

OMG u guys! 🤯 I'm like totes hyped about dis new dinner event in Detroit!!! 🎉 It's gonna be a super immersive experience with fine dining, live theater & relaxation... all while gettin' lit with THC, lol 😂. The chefs from Gladys Nite are creatin a menu inspired by the diversity of cultures in 'The Handmaid's Tale', which is totes amazin! 🤝 They're tryin to break down stigmas around cannabis & promote policy change... that's so cool!!! 🌟 I'm def checkin out this event, but 125 bucks might be a lil steep for me 🤑. Anyone else gonna be attendin?

I'm telling you, this event is way too suspicious 🤔... First of all, who comes up with the idea to host a THC-infused dinner party? And what's with the "joy of diversity" theme? Sounds like they're trying to brainwash us into thinking that cannabis is good for everything 😒. And have you noticed how this event is only open to people who've been to prison for cannabis-related offenses? That's just too convenient, if you ask me... I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that the government is always looking for ways to push their agenda and increase control over our lives 🤑. Mark my words, something fishy is going on here!

🤔 this event is pretty cool, I guess. I mean, who wouldn't want to eat some fancy food infused with THC while watching a dystopian play? It sounds like the Apotheculture Club is trying to raise awareness about cannabis and reduce stigma around recreational use. The fact that they're partnering with local chefs to create a menu inspired by diverse cultures from the show's "Little America" is also a great touch 🍴. I'm curious to see how it all comes together, but at $125 per person, it might be out of my budget... I think.

I'm kinda weirded out by this idea... 😕 I mean, THC-infused dinner sounds like a wild ride, but what if someone overdoes it? 🤯 And then you've got this super dark show about oppression and control... it's gonna be heavy, man! 😓 What if some guests can't handle the vibe after the first course? 💀 But at the same time, I get why they want to do this - like, raise awareness about cannabis policy and all that. 🤝 It's cool that they're trying to make the night enjoyable for everyone, even those who've had run-ins with the law. 👍

What a cool event 🤩! I love how they're combining art, food, and relaxation to create an immersive experience for the guests. It sounds like a really unique and fun way to celebrate diversity and inclusivity. I'm also stoked that the proceeds will go towards reducing stigma around recreational cannabis use - it's about time we normalize conversations around this topic 🌿💚. The fact that they're partnering with local chefs who are using seasonal produce and international cuisines is just a bonus 🍴👏. I'm curious to see how the THC-infused dinner will play out, but I have to admit, I might be a bit nervous 😅...

Wow 👌 this sounds like a pretty wild & fancy event 🤪! I'd love to see the chefs' menu, it sounds like they've put together something super unique. And the fact that some of the proceeds are going towards cannabis policy change is really cool 🙏. Interesting how they're using art and food to help break down stigmas around recreational use 🎨.
