Detroit Mayoral Candidate Refusing to Answer on ICE Policies Leaves Voters in Limbo
Honestly, I think this whole thing with Mike Duggan's campaign is kinda weird

. On one hand, you can understand why he wouldn't want to answer all those tough questions about how he'd handle ICE policies - it's a super divisive issue and you don't wanna alienate people by saying something that might not be popular. But on the other hand, I think voters have a right to know where their candidate stands on this stuff.
I mean, 65% of Americans think ICE has gone too far? That's pretty clear

. And 6 in 10 disapprove of their job? It's like they're saying "hey, you guys need some serious reform". So it feels kinda weird that Duggan's campaign isn't giving any clear answers on how he'd fix this stuff.
Plus, with all the recent high-profile cases of ICE being super aggressive and cruel, I think voters have a right to know if their candidate is gonna be part of that or not

. It's like, what kind of governor do you want for Michigan? Someone who's gonna help people get deported or someone who's gonna protect them?
I guess what I'm trying to say is that Duggan's refusal to answer these questions is kinda puzzling

. But at the same time, I don't think it's entirely surprising - politics can be super polarizing and sometimes you just have to take things as they come

.
Anyway, only time will tell how this all plays out in the 2026 governor's race
