I'm not sure I buy into all this 'kingmaker' hype

. The HDP's decision to drop out of the presidential race just seems like a clever PR move to me. They're not going to suddenly become super enthusiastic about democracy and stability, no way

. Erdogan's been riding roughshod over the opposition for years, so I think this is just more of the same old game playing

.
I mean, let's be real, the HDP has been under intense pressure from Erdogan's goons for ages, and they've still managed to maintain a strong following. That's not because they're suddenly on board with Turkish politics as it is, but because they know how to play the system to their advantage

.
As long as the Kurdish issue remains a flashpoint in Turkey's politics, we can expect more of the same old drama and polarization

. And let's not forget that Erdogan's got plenty of tricks up his sleeve - he'll just find another way to marginalize the opposition and consolidate power

.
It's all very predictable, if you ask me

. The HDP may think they're being strategic, but I reckon they're just buying into the same old narrative

. We should be more concerned with holding our leaders accountable for their actions rather than playing out this drama with the kingmaker party
