European Figure Skating Championships: GB's Anastasia Vaipan-Law and Luke Digby finish seventh after fall

Britain's Anastasia Vaipan-Law and Luke Digby Fall Short at European Figure Skating Championships

Anastasia Vaipan-Law and Luke Digby, Britain's top figure skaters, failed to medal at the European Championships after a dramatic fall in the pairs event. The pair secured seventh place with a score of 173.52 points.

The British duo had been expected to challenge for the podium but a wobbly jump from Vaipan-Law led to a tumbledom that saw them fall behind Russia's Evgenia Tarasova and Aljaz Skaraj in the standings.

Despite their disappointing finish, Vaipan-Law and Digby showed flashes of promise throughout their performance. Their execution was strong, with tight choreography and precise footwork on display.

However, it was a single jump that ultimately cost them dear. A fall from Vaipan-Law sent the crowd gasping in shock, while Tarasova and Skaraj seized the opportunity to overtake the British pair in the standings.

The result will be a bitter pill for Britain's skating fans to swallow, but the 22-year-old Vaipan-Law remains optimistic about her chances at future championships. "We're already looking forward to Tokyo," she said post competition.

Aww man πŸ˜”... you feel for Ana and Luke, they looked like they had it all set up for a podium spot, but that one little fall cost them big time πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ. Still, 7th place isn't too shabby, and I'm sure they'll be back stronger than ever πŸ’ͺ. I love how optimistic Ana is about the future tho... Tokyo here they come! 🌟

Aww man πŸ˜”, I'm really disappointed for Anastasia and Luke! They had such a great start, but that one fall was just heartbreaking πŸ€•. Russia's girls were on fire today πŸ”₯, no doubt about it. But you know what? I still think our girl Anastasia has tons of potential πŸ’ͺ. She's only 22, she's got time to learn from her mistakes and come back stronger in Tokyo πŸ“†. And let's not forget, they did have some amazing moments on the ice - that choreography was insane πŸ’ƒ! Can't wait to see what they do next ⏭️

Ugh πŸ€• just watched those skaters fall apart on live TV... like, i know we all have off days but still. 😩 Anastasia and Luke were so close too, it's def a bummer for the Brits skating fans πŸ’”. but hey, 22-year-old Anastasia is already looking ahead to Tokyo 🀞, maybe she'll bounce back stronger next time? πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

ugh πŸ€• they were so close! i was really rooting for them lol, that fall from anastasia was heartbreaking 😭. u gotta feel for luke too, he's been skating with her since they were kids 🀝. anyway, 7th place is still a great achievement, but u can't help feeling like they let themselves down πŸ‘Ž. gotta give 'em credit though, their routine was fire πŸ”₯... i just wish that one jump had gone right πŸ’”πŸ˜¬

πŸ€” what's up with these Brits and their fall? I mean, I feel for them, they were in it till the end, but that jump just wasn't meant to be πŸ™…β€β™€οΈ. Anastasia's all about that confidence though, gotta respect her positivity 😊. Still, can't help but wonder what could've been if they'd landed that one jump πŸ’ͺ. Maybe Tokyo's their chance to shine? 🌟

😐 so sad to see ana and luky not bring home a medal... they had some great moments in that performance, I mean who can deny those tight choreo and footwork tho? 🀩 but that one jump just went wrong and it was like game over for them. Russia's girls were on fire πŸ’ͺ I get why the crowd was shocked too, that fall was crazy! πŸ’₯ ana seems pretty chill about it though, still keeping her eyes on Tokyo... I guess you can't win 'em all 🀞

πŸ€•πŸ˜” Oh no, poor Anastasia and Luke! I was really rooting for them, especially after hearing they've been working so hard. One little fall in the pairs event and it's like their whole skate was over πŸ‹οΈβ€β™€οΈπŸ’₯ And to think they were expected to do so much better... it's just heartbreaking for British skating fans πŸ’”. But I have to give Anastasia props - 22 and already looking forward to Tokyo? That's some serious dedication πŸ’ͺ! I'm sure she'll be back stronger than ever 🌟

I'm still reeling from that pairs event 😱. I knew they were a strong contender, but that one wobbly jump from Anastasia was all it took to throw them off the podium πŸ€•. It's heartbreaking for their fans, for sure... like, I was rooting for them to bring home some gold πŸ…. But, you know, at least 22-year-old Vaipan-Law is staying positive and looking forward to Tokyo πŸŒ†? Still can't shake off the feeling that they should've done better tho πŸ€”. Did anyone else think Russia's Tarasova & Skaraj were more deserving of that gold? 😐

πŸ€— that's so bittersweet lol Anastasia and Luke were on fire till that one jump went wrong πŸŒͺ️ still super proud of them tho, 7th place isn't bad considering they came up against some tough competition πŸ’ͺ Anastasia seems like a total pro, already looking forward to Tokyo is a great attitude 😊

πŸ€• Poor Anastasia and Luke! I was so hyped for them to bring home a medal πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§ But that wobbly jump from Anastasia had everyone on the edge of their seats 😱! They definitely showed some great skills, but sometimes you just gotta execute under pressure πŸ’ͺ. On the bright side, Vaipan-Law's already looking forward to Tokyo, which is awesome πŸŽ‰. I'm keeping an eye on her, she's got that potential! 😁

OMG, that's so sad for Anastasia and Luke! πŸ€• I mean, they were really close and had a great performance, but one little fall and it all falls apart πŸ’”. I can imagine how disappointed their fans must be πŸ™„. But hey, at least 22-year-old Anastasia is staying positive about the future 😊. And Tokyo 2025 is just around the corner! Fingers crossed they can come back stronger next time πŸ’ͺ.

I think it's pretty harsh to say they fell short just because of one bad jump πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ. I mean, we've all been there, right? One little mistake and suddenly you're out of the running. The Brits showed some solid skills, especially in terms of choreo and footwork - that's not easy to do! And let's be real, it's not like they were expected to win anyway... 7th place is still a respectable finish πŸ™Œ

ugh they were so close! i was thinking they had it in the bag and would easily take a medal πŸ€• but that one fall changed everything. anastasia's got some serious skills tho, even if she did have that wobbly moment 😬. gotta feel for her and luke, they've been working so hard. hopefully they can regroup and come back stronger at the next competition πŸ’ͺ

ugh why do competitions have to be so stressful? i mean, i know it's figure skating and all that jazz, but can't they just relax a bit πŸ˜’? like, anastasia vaipan-law had a wobbly jump and the whole team is on edge... what's the point of even competing if you're not gonna enjoy it πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ. and don't even get me started on the judges' scores - 173.52 points for 7th place? that seems like an awful lot to me πŸ˜’. anyway, gotta give props to taipan-law though, she's still looking positive about the future... fingers crossed for her in tokyo 🀞

This is what I love about figure skating - it's all about drama and unpredictability! But let's be real, folks, this result is a great teaching moment for our politicians... err, I mean, the British skating team. They needed a bit of help from fate to make a comeback, just like how we need effective policies to overcome adversity. I'm not saying they should've been given a safety net (pun intended), but it's time for the UK government to invest in their national sports programs and provide more support for athletes like Vaipan-Law. After all, what's the point of having world-class athletes if we can't give them the best possible chance to succeed? πŸ€”πŸ’ͺ

man... can u blame them tho? i mean anastasia & luke were so close, it's like they just needed a sec to regroup after that fall πŸ€•πŸ‹οΈβ€β™€οΈ and honestly, the crowd was literally on their feet when it happened 😲 still gotta give em props 4 keepin' it together tho πŸ‘ & yessss, tokyo here we come... πŸ’ͺ

OMG πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ, Anastasia and Luke are gonna be back on track in no time! One bad fall doesn't define their skills - they've got the talent and the determination! 😊 Their execution was fire πŸ”₯ and I'm loving the positive vibe from Ana, looking forward to Tokyo already! πŸ’– Can't wait to see what the future holds for this talented British pair πŸ’ͺπŸΌπŸŽ‰

πŸ€” OMG, I'm still in shock!! 😱 I mean, they were so close to making it to the podium but that one jump just changed everything 🎯. I feel bad for Luke and Anastasia, they looked like a well-oiled machine out there πŸ’ͺ... except for that one split second when Vaipan-Law's foot slipped πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ. Still, I love their attitude, looking forward to Tokyo already! πŸ’– Maybe they can learn from this experience and come back stronger πŸ”„πŸ’₯
