can you believe this? kilpatricks trying to weasel out of paying his own debt is soooo 2020 lol seriously though, gotta commend the feds for keeping him in check and making sure he pays up! it's not like they're asking for much, just a measly $823k back what's the worst that could happen? someone takes away his pension benefits or two

The justice system is slowly closing in on Kwame Kilpatrick . This ruling might seem like a victory for him, but it's more like a sigh of relief for the people of Detroit who have suffered under his corruption . The fact that he gets to keep some pension benefits and income, despite owing $823k, just doesn't sit right with me . It's all about accountability now, right?

I wonder what made him think he could just pay back like a fraction of the money he owed lol... 823k is a lot of cash, I guess if you're used to having that kinda cash . It's crazy how he thought he could just weasel his way out of paying it all back after being convicted of all those corruption charges . And now he's gotta give up his pension too? That's pretty harsh .

Ugh, this is just another reminder that our justice system can be pretty messed up . I mean, think about it - a guy gets convicted of multiple corruption charges and sentenced to 28 years in prison, but then gets clemency from the President and only has to serve time served... what's the point of even having a justice system if that's how it works out?

And now, he's got to deal with ongoing garnishment efforts from his pension and other income - that's just cruel . I'm all for holding people accountable for their actions, but is this really necessary? It feels like the government is more interested in collecting its own money than in seeing justice served...
